It’s just hard to believe what comes out of some peoples’ mouths. I have to say, I am a bit disappointed – AOC can usually be counted on to say something really stupid, but lately she seems to have been more circumspect. I think she is hoping to be Bernie Sanders’ VP running mate (which in itself is -ah, “questionable” on so many fronts – and they are maybe telling her to shut up and let Mamdani do all the podiatric mouth insertion.<\/p>\n
But, like Bogie and Ilsa who “always have Paris”, we have Jasmine Crockett. Representing the south side of Dallas in Congress (which tells you something about the electorate there) Ms. Crockett is still good for a quote. Just not good for an intelligent<\/em> quote.<\/p>\n Crockett spoke with talk show host Sherri Shepherd, who asked Crockett about some of her more viral moments in Congress, noting her spat with former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.<\/p>\n “There\u2019s no preparation for that. But I\u2019m a Black woman in America. So\u2026 some people are just like, ‘Oh, but you\u2019re a congresswoman.’ I\u2019m a Black woman first,” Crockett responded.<\/p>\n She continued, “The level of disrespect that is continuously lobbed against us as Black women, you know, for me, I\u2019m like, ‘Wait a minute now. I am one of the 535 most powerful people in this country, and for some reason you think we on the same level, but you going to disrespect me?’<\/p><\/blockquote>\n First off, I am pretty sure that a lame-duck Congresscritter who got stomped running in a Senate primary isn’t perceived as powerful on any level.<\/p>\n Second – the most powerful folks in the country are not necessarily those in higher political office. Think any of us could come up with a whole list of folks who move and shake – names like Musk, Gates, Koch, any number of CEOs, some governors – who actually have some real clout. Heck, even the Soros family makes her look like an also-ran, like them or not.\u00a0 \u00a0Fox News<\/a><\/p>\n And Jasmine thinks she is on a higher level than you or I. She’s speshul… in her own mind. Sure shows the “me versus the little people” mindset of someone who thinks they are ‘the ruling class’.<\/p>\n And then there is Ilhan Omar, our least favorite Somali import. Gotta love someone who is supposedly a leader who can’t count – or apparently reason.<\/p>\n While giving a speech to introduce a piece of legislation, U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar said, “The last time the Alien Enemies Act was invoked it was used to detain and deport German, Japanese, Italian immigrants during World War Eleven.”\u00a0\u00a0Snopes<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n I can almost forgive part of this – quick glance, Roman numerals – yeah, it may look like an 11 instead of a 2\/II. But wouldn’t you think that anyone with half a brain would think “what world war eleven?” She added more wars into history than Trump took credit for stopping – that’s going some. Obviously a Biden-trained teleprompter speaker. Makes the teleprompter scene in “Bruce Almighty” seem real, doesn’t it.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n And we’ll close with Zohran Mamdani, who is certainly willing to spend money he hasn’t got:<\/p>\n Mayor Zohran Mamdani\u2019s administration has earmarked $500,000 for the Commission on Racial Equity to fund community discussions on reparations and a Truth, Healing, and Reconciliation plan. More than two dozen groups will receive up to tens of thousands of dollars each to host conversations, gather testimony, and offer participant incentives. The decision comes as the city faces a $5.4 billion budget deficit, highlighting the tension between equity programs and fiscal constraints.
