Former student wrote threats before bringing loaded gun to Sacramento Catholic school<\/strong>

(FOX40.COM) \u2014 The man who brought a loaded gun to an East Sacramento parish school on Ash Wednesday was a former student \u2014 and he\u2019d allegedly drafted handwritten threats.<\/p>\n

Brian Richard Girardot Jr., 20, was charged Thursday in federal court. He was arrested Wednesday after arriving at a church near St. Mary Parish School with a firearm.<\/p>\n

He dropped a younger relative off early Wednesday morning, federal officials said.<\/p>\n

Girardot returned at about 9:30 a.m. and attempted to enter St. Mary Catholic Church, which is on the same property as the K-8 school, during an all-school Mass.<\/p>\n

An off-duty police detective was attending the Ash Wednesday Mass as \u201cparent observer\u201d when they noticed a \u201csuspicious person,\u201d the Sacramento Police Department said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe off-duty detective spoke with the individual and during the interaction located and removed a loaded handgun from the person,\u201d a police spokesperson said Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement discovered Girardot had additional ammunition and a camouflage jacket in a vehicle parked nearby, according to the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Eastern District of California.<\/p>\n

According to court documents filed by prosecutors, Sacramento police found four more guns in a safe in Girardot\u2019s garage: A Winchester 12-gauge shotgun, two .22 caliber rifles and a Winchester Model 670 .30-06 rifle.<\/p>\n

The gun found on Girardot\u2019s person was a Taurus Tracker .44 Magnum revolver.<\/p>\n

Later, officers searched Girardot\u2019s home, officials said. Inside, they found a series of handwritten notes stacked in his bedroom that contained references to suicide and threats.<\/p>\n

One of the notes listed three relatives and the statement \u201cAll of you are the reason I\u2019ve done this,\u201d according to court documents. Another note read \u201cSuicide Note f*** you\u201d on one side and \u201c\u2026 rest of y\u2019all \u2026 f*** you die!!!\u201d on the other.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
