When officers arrived, they learned that a shooting had occurred as a result of an ongoing neighbor dispute.<\/p>\n<p>Witnesses told police that the suspect was intoxicated and approached his neighbor&#8217;s home &#8220;in an agitated state,&#8221; Forney PD said in a news release. Family members and bystanders tried to stop the suspect, whose name has not been released, from entering his neighbor&#8217;s home, but the suspect forced himself inside through a glass door.<\/p>\n<p>Once inside, police said the suspect physically assaulted the homeowner.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators said the homeowner was armed with a handgun and shot the suspect twice during the assault, striking him in the stomach and chest.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was airlifted to a hospital and will be transported to jail once he&#8217;s released, Forney PD said. He faces a charge of burglary of habitation, a first-degree felony.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>0 \/ 1 \/ 0<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/texas\/news\/forney-texas-neighbor-assault-concord-street-shooting-investigation\/\">CBS News<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Drunk, stupid and shot are no way to go through life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Houston businessowner shoots at suspects allegedly stealing scrap metal<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>By Terrian Spurs<br \/>\nThe Brief<br \/>\nTwo suspects were injured after trying to steal scrap metal from a business owner in north Houston.<\/p>\n<p>Police say the owner confronted the suspects with a shotgun and shot one of them in the head.<\/p>\n<p>The other suspect appeared to have fallen on a piece of metal and was injured with a puncture wound.<\/p>\n<p>HOUSTON &#8211; Two men were placed in police custody and hospitalized after they were shot at by a business owner while attempting to steal scrap metal off of his property in north Houston.<\/p>\n<p>Houston Police Department North Division Captain Ryan Watson reports the property owner owns the scrap metal business Demolition Experts in the 200 block of East Burress Street.<\/p>\n<p>What we know:<br \/>\nAround 4:20 a.m. officers were called to the 215 block of East Burress Street for a robbery in progress. When they arrived, they found two suspects were being held at gunpoint by the business owner, Captain Watson said.<\/p>\n<p>According to officials, the owner got an alert about people in his scrapyard, so he got his shotgun and went to see what was going on.<\/p>\n<p>He confronted two men he saw on his property carrying scrap metal. One suspect allegedly told the owner, &#8220;I&#8217;m going to kill you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Police report the owner shot his weapon at the suspects. One suspect had a gunshot wound to the head and the second had a puncture wound which investigators believe he got by possibly falling on a piece of metal.<\/p>\n<p>Both suspects were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
