Elizabeth Weibel<\/strong><\/p>\n An official from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) instructed hurricane relief workers to skip over the homes of supporters of President-elect Donald Trump, according to a recent report.<\/p>\n Marn\u2019i Washington, a FEMA supervisor, reportedly informed hurricane relief workers \u201cverbally and in a group chat,\u201d to \u201cavoid homes advertising Trump,\u201d in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, several \u201cgovernment employees,\u201d told the Daily Wire.<\/p>\n The government employees explained to the outlet that as a result of the guidance, \u201cat least 20 homes with Trump signs or flags\u201d in Lake Placid, Florida, had been skipped. As a result, residents did not have an \u201copportunity to qualify for FEMA assistance.\u201d<\/p>\n The government employees told The Daily Wire that at least 20 homes with Trump signs or flags were skipped from the end of October and into November due to the guidance, meaning they were not given the opportunity to qualify for FEMA assistance. Images shared with The Daily Wire show that houses were skipped over by the workers, who wrote in the government system messages such as: \u201cTrump sign no entry per leadership.”<\/p>\n The Daily Wire noted that the government employees had been \u201cpart of a Department of Homeland Security surge capacity force team,\u201d and had \u201cvolunteered\u201d to assist FEMA, which was understaffed in the aftermath of a \u201csecond major hurricane.\u201d<\/p>\n One government employee explained to the outlet that they knew FEMA had been \u201cshort-staffed,\u201d and the government employees thought they \u201ccould go help and make a difference,\u201d adding that they were instructed to \u201cdiscriminate against people.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI know they\u2019re short-staffed, I thought we could go help and make a difference,\u201d the government employee told the outlet. \u201cWhen we got there we were told to discriminate against people. It\u2019s almost unbelievable to think that somebody in the federal government would think that\u2019s okay.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
