Woman shoots ex-boyfriend in the head to escape strangulation, MNPD says<\/strong>

\nNASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A woman who was being strangled by her ex-boyfriend shot him in the head in self-defense early Wednesday morning, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.<\/p>\n

Police said the woman called 911 to report the shooting of 29-year-old Decorian Scott at a duplex on Debow Street near 9th Street in Old Hickory.<\/p>\n

Scott was shot in the head after allegedly strangling and threatening to kill the woman, according to police. He\u2019s being treated at Skyline Medical Center.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nPolice say the incident started with a Facebook Marketplace transaction<\/em><\/p>\n

\nOne person is in serious but stable condition at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit after a shooting outside of a Warren Planet Fitness on 12 Mile Road near Van Dyke Avenue Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

According to Warren police, officers were dispatched to the parking lot outside the gym just after 8 p.m. Sept. 6 in response to reports of shots fired.<\/p>\n

Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer said the shooting was the result of an attempted armed robbery that started with a Facebook Marketplace transaction. According to Dwyer a 16-year-old male and another man were armed and attempted to rob two males who had met them in the Planet Fitness parking lot to complete a Facebook Marketplace transaction.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
