Accusations range from the speculative to what appear to be substantiated.

Santos, 34, who admitted last month to lying about his education, work history, religion and details of his personal life, was already under federal investigation for loaning his 2022 campaign more than $700,000, despite declaring a salary of only $55,000 as recently as 2020.

The complaint by the Campaign Legal Center alleged that Santos had hidden the true source of his campaign cash while using the mysterious funding for personal expenses.

Reminds you of the scene in “The Pink Panther” when Inspector Clouseau is asked how his wife can afford thousands monthly on clothes and luxuries when he makes only a chief inspector’s salary, says “well, she is very careful with the household expense money”. Guess Santos saved up 90% of his $55K salary for years so he could run…how touching. But, he was the busiest man on earth – with no customer invoice over $5,000 he reported millions in income in 2020 and 2021.

Then there are his expenses. Federal campaign laws say you have to document any expense of $200 or more…. Santos shows quite a few at EXACTLY $199.99. Something like 40 of them, I read…including interesting ones like $199.95 for a room in a hotel at which minimum rates are over $700 a night. Must have frequnt flier’s points? Or 8 at one Queens restaurant for between $190 and $199.99 – he must eat the same meal with the same like-minded folks a lot. Or $199.99 for office supplies at NINE separate stores. Funny how that same number keeps showing up.

The filing also noted that Santos’ $13,500 in rent payments for “Apartment Rental for Staff” were actually made to pay for a Huntington abode in which he lived “in blatant violation of the law.”

NY Post

It’s nice to live in your district… but not to have campaign funds pay the rent. I know these are just allegations. But in view of the previous “smoke” (he claimed to be Jewish, and isn’t. Claimed to be gay but was married to a woman and has never been seen with his ‘husband’ – no points on that one, but… Bogus educational college claims? Lied about employment history) this fire seems to have ample fuel. He makes Liawatha look like a piker. My gut feeling? Dump this jerk now. The Republicans have shown their collective asses in both the ‘red wave’ failure and the Speaker’s election – this clown is not just an albatross, but a millsone around the party’s neck. He needs to go. JMHO

Geroge Santos, R-Lon Gisland, is under more scrutiny now over his campaign funds.
