{"id":134889,"date":"2022-12-17T09:41:18","date_gmt":"2022-12-17T14:41:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=134889"},"modified":"2022-12-17T09:41:18","modified_gmt":"2022-12-17T14:41:18","slug":"stupid-people-of-the-week-64","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=134889","title":{"rendered":"Stupid people of the week"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Minnesota science teacher claims cell biology lessons are part of &#8216;capitalist indoctrination&#8217;<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>A Minnesota science teacher in the Saint Paul Public Schools district lambasted cell biology lessons, particularly on mitochondrion, for containing &#8220;capitalist&#8221; propaganda, Fox News Digital found.<\/p>\n<p>Mandi Jung, a teacher at Highland Park Middle School, said, &#8220;Lately, there&#8217;s been a lot of conversation about teachers indoctrinating students to their beliefs. And I always find this funny because our children are seeped in capitalist indoctrination from like the second they&#8217;re born, basically.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jung proceeded to provide the &#8220;perfect example&#8221; of how &#8220;capitalist indoctrination&#8221; is expressed in her seventh grade science classes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Seventh grade science\u2026 [is] the year that you learn that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell and all this cell biology. So at the end of the unit, I have [students] take a test. And one of the questions is \u2018A person says the nucleus is the most important organelle in the cell. Do you agree or disagree, and why?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And almost every child says, \u2018Yes, I agree. Because without a boss, the cell would be in total chaos.\u2019&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jung added the students&#8217; responses &#8220;cracks me up,&#8221; and went on to claim microscopic bacteria were the &#8220;original anarchists.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Bacteria don&#8217;t have a nucleus, and they are arguably one of the most successful classes of organisms on the planet. Bacteria out here being the original anarchists, right? No nucleus, no master. Seize the means of metabolism. I don&#8217;t know. It&#8217;s funny to me,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News Digital asked the Saint Paul Public Schools district whether Jung&#8217;s commentary is part of its curriculum, and they sent over a science unit used in the district. The district did not directly answer the question.<\/p>\n<p>Jung frequently posts anti-capitalist views on her social media platforms.<\/p>\n<p>For example, she shared on Twitter, &#8220;You are not a capitalist, you are an exploited worker with Stockholm syndrome.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In another case, Jung recommended a teacher use what appeared to be a Marxist political cartoon against capitalism.<\/p>\n<p>The poster said, &#8220;Capitalism. We rule you. We fool you. We shoot at you. We eat for you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Minneapolis teacher previously revealed that she used a survey that allows students to conceal a gender identity change in her classroom, Fox News Digital found.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These are all resources that I use or have used at the beginning of the school year. Please enjoy,&#8221; the middle school teacher said.<\/p>\n<p>The questions asked students about their preferred pronouns and names, and whether those can be used when speaking directly with a student&#8217;s parents. It also asked them about who they do not get along with in the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the questions included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;What name should I use when speaking to your parents?&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;What pronouns should we use when we talk about you? (CHOOSE AS MANY AS YOU WANT)&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Is it okay to use the pronouns you selected above when we talk to your parents?&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Is it okay to use the pronouns you selected above when we talk to other students or the class?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>A spokesperson for the district referred to existing policy when Fox News Digital asked for comment, which said, &#8220;Respect all students\u2019 gender identity and gender expression by honoring the right of students to be identified and addressed by their preferred name and pronoun.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;That we live in a country where schools are actively pushing kids to change their gender and hide it from their parents is something I never thought I would face as a parent,&#8221; Kimberly S. Hermann from the Southeastern Legal Foundation told Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>She added that surveys administered without parental consent may violate federal law.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Surveys like this one not only violate the law, but they are aimed at separating children from their parents. Parents must know that when schools ask children about their emotional health, sexual identity, and family relationships without parental consent they violate federal law,&#8221; she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Source; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/minnesota-science-teacher-claims-cell-biology-lessons-part-capitalist-indoctrination\">Fox News<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Man arrested after stealing $3,600 lawnmower, trying to sell it on Facebook, Covington PD says<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>A 47-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after he stole a $3,600 lawnmower from a Tractor Supply Co. and tried to sell it on Facebook, according to Covington Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>Police said that Bryon Stevens was taken into custody after detectives found the lawnmower at a home in Brownville.<\/p>\n<p>It all started about 3:30 p.m. Monday, when a man called the home improvement retail chain in Covington and said his manager from the \u201cHaywood Tractor Supply Store\u201d was sending him to pick up a lawnmower there, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Police said that the theft was of a Cub Cadet GT1 54-inch Zero Turn lawnmower.<\/p>\n<p>When the man arrived at the Tractor Supply store in Covington, employees did not check his identification and he left with the lawnmower in a truck pulling a trailer, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Police said that staff contacted the Haywood store and the manager there said that he had not requested a lawnmower transfer.<\/p>\n<p>Before he left with the lawnmower, the man used a debit card to purchase other items at the store, information detectives used to start tracking him, police said.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, detectives received a tip that a similar lawnmower was for sale on Facebook, police said. They set up a meeting with the seller in Nutbush but it never happened.<\/p>\n<p>Police said that they later learned about a possible location of the man wanted in the lawnmower theft.<\/p>\n<p>When detectives arrived at a home on Tibbs Road in Brownsville, they found a truck, trailer and lawnmower covered by a tarp in the driveway, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Stevens was arrested and he admitted to stealing the lawnmower, police said.<\/p>\n<p>He was booked into the Tipton County jail and charged with criminal impersonation and theft of property over $1,000, police said.<\/p>\n<p>He is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 6.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Source; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/man-arrested-stealing-3-600-012748738.html\">Yahoo!<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Old Saybrook officer charged with illegally using police records to get woman&#8217;s name after he saw her shopping<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>An Old Saybrook officer is out on bond Wednesday after allegedly illegally accessing the Connecticut On-Line Law Enforcement Teleprocessing System to get information on a woman he saw while on an assignment.<\/p>\n<p>Josh Zarbo, a patrolman with the department since 2017, had the woman\u2019s vehicle registration run \u201cfor his own personal gain,\u201d according to police. He has been charged with third-degree computer crime, which is a felony.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Old Saybrook Police Department takes our responsibility to ensure that Department<\/p>\n<p>Employees are adhering to workplace expectations and the law very seriously,\u201d Old Saybrook Chief Michael A. Spera said in a written announcement. \u201cOld Saybrook Citizens must be assured that they can trust their Police Department not only to provide superior traditional and nontraditional law enforcement services every day, but that they can also trust their Police Department to maintain high standards, swiftly address internal matters, and possess the ability to properly police our own.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zarbo was on a Walmart work detail on Black Friday when he saw the woman, texted another officer to run her vehicle registration, and then asked for it over the radio system, according to police documents. After getting her information, he then followed her on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>The woman told police that she saw Zarbo while shopping and later noticed that the man who followed her on Instagram was the same officer.<\/p>\n<p>Zarbo told police during an interview that the woman was \u201cbeing suspicious\u201d by the way she looked at him and because she pulled through a parking space instead of backing out of it, according to police documents. He also reportedly had texted a dispatcher with slang that meant he was trying to pick up women when he originally asked for her registration to be run through the system.<\/p>\n<p>He called dispatch asking for her information 15 minutes after he saw her and did not ask for anyone else\u2019s information during the shift, according to information from police. Zarbo reportedly told police that he followed her on Instagram after noticing they had mutual friends.<\/p>\n<p>Zarbo was released on a $5,000 bond. They tell him a male suspect shut down power to two of them.<\/p>\n<p>Christopher Daniels is accused of vandalizing one of five towers on Foss Way in Troy.<\/p>\n<p>He rammed his truck through a gate, then hooked his truck up to bunch of cables and yanked them out, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>News Center 7 got these 911 calls through a public records request.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHello, I have a question for you,\u201d the caller said to dispatchers. \u201cDo you have any extension numbers for homeland security, FBI?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This was the first call authorities got from Daniels on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe believed there was some paranormal activity going on in town,\u201d said Officer Scott Gates, Troy City Police.<\/p>\n<p>Hershovitz says there was another 911 call.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShut down the towers,\u201d he told dispatchers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey can\u2019t shut down the towers to the whole city,\u201d said the dispatcher.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy the hell not? You want people to die?\u201d he replied to dispatchers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe felt like he had to take out the cell phone towers,\u201d said Gates. \u201cHe felt like they were powering some things in the clouds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniels drove to five different cell phone towers in Miami County, ramming them with his truck and attempted to shut down the power, Troy Police said. He took the power out at two of the towers causing a 34 hour disruption in service for one, 28 hour for the other tower.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe felt like evil was going to come out of the clouds and cause murder and chaos,\u201d Gates told Hershovitz. \u201cHe was trying to take the power out of the towers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniels then broke into two homes in Troy, police said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStartled the people living there,\u201d said Gates. \u201cThe woke up and he\u2019s standing over them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when police arrested him and is charged with aggravated trespassing, felony vandalism and disrupting public service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understand that I\u2019m in trouble,\u201d the suspect said. \u201cBut guess what? I think I just saved some lives. I\u2019ll tell that right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hershovitz reports Troy Police are finalizing their paperwork in this investigation and expect Daniels to face even more felony charges.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Source; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/trying-power-1-man-accused-232912940.html\">Yahoo!<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Georgia hunters say man fired gunshot at them and blasted loud music to scare away deer<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>Two men hunting deer in Monroe County the morning of Nov. 12 called the police and reported that a man who lived nearby had fired a gunshot toward them.<\/p>\n<p>One of the hunters, 61, said that as he was walking into the woods the man also blasted loud music for about 10 minutes. The hunter said he then heard a gunshot that he believed was \u201caimed in his direction,\u201d a sheriff\u2019s report noted.<\/p>\n<p>The second hunter, 40, said he emerged from the woods and saw someone standing on the porch at a house toting a pump-action shotgun.<\/p>\n<p>The area lies just east of Georgia Highway 83 near Dumas Road, about 5 miles southwest of Forsyth.<\/p>\n<p>A sheriff\u2019s deputy later spoke to the man who lived there. He was said to have had a 12-gauge shotgun in a chair.
