Our friends at the Guardians of the Green Beret (GotGB) recently posted a case on this Ron Fernandez<\/a> fella.\u00a0 The GotGB did some extensive work with this case so we can only scratch the surface.\u00a0 This includes some ongoing conversations with Fernandez who claims he will make it all right with the press.<\/p>\n

The Cliff Notes and why it lead to several people dropping a dime on him:\u00a0 Ron was introduced to the University of Cincinnati ROTC as being with the Ohio Military Reserve.\u00a0 But was he part of the 19th Special Forces Group?<\/p>\n

When someone first met him, Ron was in ACUs with all the typical combat flair – Special Forces patches on both sleeves, Ranger tab, CIB, abn\/aaslt wings. Nothing really jumped out as potentially wrong.\u00a0 The person said Ron was modest about his claims – no outlandish war stories, etc.\u00a0 “He was a decent and easy-going guy. Nothing really triggered suspicion and he seemed to know his stuff. He wasn’t a braggart, never made outlandish claims to us or the cadets.”<\/p>\n

Suspicion was raised when Ron showed up to several events sometime later and never seemed to have his CAC card with him.<\/p>\n

After lots of other suspicious behavior, someone inquired about his training records – no records could be found.\u00a0 An effort was made to contact several commands that LTC Ron Fernandez claimed to be a part of – no one assigned by that name.<\/p>\n

Ron was confronted and admitted that he was never even in the military.<\/p>\n

So we reached out to Ron Fernandez and he admitted he was never in the military.<\/p>\n

There’s some audio of his backtracking and shuffling of feet over on the GotGB page, so if you have some time you are in for a treat.<\/p>\n

What drives someone to take their yarn to a level that Ron does?\u00a0 Amazing.<\/p>\n

Still trying to decide if the wife knew and when.\u00a0 I imagine she may be thinking back to all the time Ronny was away and said he was deployed.\u00a0 Is there a whole ‘nuther life to be discovered?<\/p>\n
