Police in Sallisaw fatally shoot knife-wielding man<\/strong><\/p>\n

A knife-wielding man was fatally shot by a police officer in eastern Oklahoma early Saturday, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reported.<\/p>\n

An officer in Sallisaw was investigating a report of a man walking on U.S. 64 and jumping in front of traffic about 5 a.m. in the city near the Arkansas state line about 150 miles (241 kilometers) east of Oklahoma City, the OSBI said.<\/p>\n

The man threatened the officer with a knife and the officer shot him when he refused to drop the weapon, according to the OSBI.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nA woman says she was being followed when she shot a man multiple times in Atlanta, according to Georgia authorities.<\/p>\n

The shooting occurred just before midnight Sunday, May 15, in the 3500 block of Peachtree Road in the city\u2019s Buckhead community, Atlanta police said in a news release.<\/p>\n

The woman told police she was working as a ride-share driver and had just dropped off a passenger on Cheshire Bridge Road when the man, identified as 21-year-old Tyriq Qwadere Wiggins-Younger, tried blocking her with his car.<\/p>\n

Wiggins-Younger followed as she sped off, police said, eventually causing her to lose control and crash. \u201cFearing for her safety,\u201d the woman fired multiple shots when she says the man got out and approached her. Wiggins-Younger was taken to a hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

No other injuries were reported, police said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
