The judge also told Smollett that a side of him is \u201cprofoundly arrogant and selfish and narcissistic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Smollett opted to not make a statement before the sentence was announced, but once he learned his fate he began yelling in the courtroom that he was \u201cnot suicidal.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He also stated before the court: &#8220;And I am not suicidal. And if anything happens to me when I go in there, I did not do it to myself.
