Weekend Open Thread

One of the ultimate goals of “climate policy” is for the government to be able to get more money. (Conservative Thot)

Farfetched? I recently debated someone regarding the Electoral College. He argued that back then, people needed to get on their horses to go to the state capital to vote. But, because of technological advances, we didn’t need to do that… The Electoral College was “no longer needed and was outdated”.  I informed him about the Constitution giving the states the right to vote for President. This individual claimed that he taught the Constitution for 21 years. This is the kind of “blind leading the blind” that you’re dealing with when you present your facts to someone. Enjoy your weekend.

Congratulations to my Main Man Roh-Dog! All Hail…All Hail! Job well done! Lord long and Prosper Good Sir! T’was a long time coming and well deserved!

Roh-Dog

No hails necessary, FA. It is only thought competitions with better Men do we grow.
I will however take tributes in Georgia’s finest; BBQ, pecan pie, ‘shine, and Her most important commodity, conversation!

Crown passed to you, fellow alumni of the Benning School for Boys. Congratulations and felicitations…

Was just hanging back like Ewell at G’burg on the evening of the FIRST of July of ’63. Couldn’t didn’t make up my damn mind, besides Gunsmoke was coming on and these are the original 30 minute B&W Episodes and Miss Kitty is s sweet young Ms Thang wearing a lot of corset type tops. She was making that style look good looooong before Madonna came along.

Tributes? Hey you can have ’em, I gots plenty. No need to put a volley across the beach, we can have a ball, just put some brewskis on ice man, we’ll drive the Maverick down to the club, put a goose with gravy in the cock pot err, crock pit, get right side up and find us some Georgia Peaches that haven’t lost that loving feelin’. There is no danger riding thru my zone.

Commissioner Wretched

Again I arrive too late to claim the coveted FIRST … but I see it is in capable hands, so I willingly applaud Roh-Dog’s achievement. In honor, I offer this week’s trivia column! DID YOU KNOW…? What was the Soviet reaction to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy? By Commissioner Wretched Last week I told you about a special celebration, the 45th anniversary of my high school graduation. That made me feel great … and somewhat old. Want to hear something that will make me feel even older? In two weeks, I will observe the 44th anniversary of the first time I did a radio show. It was June 21st, 1976. I was 17 years old. And for the first time in my life, I was going to get paid to do what I do best … talk. I got to play some pretty good music, too, in between sessions of talking. Was I any good? On my first show, at 17? No, of course not. There was an awful lot I could improve upon, and over the course of the next few years I did so. I suppose I did fine, because here we are, 44 years later, and I’m still on the air, albeit part-time. In the same town. At the only other radio station, where I went in 1977 and they still haven’t found a decent reason to get rid of me. That’s my trivia. Here’s yours! Did you know … … over 550 hot dogs are eaten every second in the United States? (That, my friends, is a lot of baseball games, isn’t it? Or it would be, anyway, if we were playing.) … stress does not turn your hair gray? It can, however, make it turn loose. Stress can cause hair loss, and the first signs of it may not turn up until up to three months after a stressful event. (In my case, it was a running battle for years – was my hair going to turn gray, or turn loose? Loose lost.) … the ancient Romans had a god of mildew? Robigus… Read more »

CW, another fine selection and our Thanks for this weekly offerings. Due to the risk of incurring the wrath and/or chastisement of the Lionesses of TAH I will make no mention of the rubbing of a kitty kat across my face. ‘Specially using a term associated with certain types of willow trees…or kitty kats. I know, Imma bad dog, no biscuit, and I will punish myself by imbibing some medicinal alcohol and a cheap seegar. Kay, Smokey (rescued Russian Blues), and Sassy (a rescued orange tabby) rule the roost and tolerate the K9 furbabies.

Most probably heard you on the air back in the 80s and early 90s. Winding my way thru the footie hills the big towns stations would die out once I crossed the River at Double Bridges and slid on across to the old “C” Springs road. That is a real nice, long and winding road that I always wanted to take my Red Line on. Hadn’t made that run since about 1996.

Hey whinesteen, if you are offended by lightening bolts, then get your power company to kill the juice in your residence to prevent electrical arcing and if you have floor rugs, get rid of them since you can get a lightening bolt from your finger if you walk across the rug and ground your finger on a piece of metal because lightening bolts are what is called static electricity which is the same thing that you see during an electrical storm. After I broke my heel in a rope slide during drill, I went from ladder 2 to a support company which took care of utilities and had light towers to provide lighting when we had incidents and fires. Our embroided cap had 233 across it plus two lightening bolts through the 233. Never had a complaint about the cap so whinesteen WTF is your problem???

FIRST in the hearts and minds of my kids and grandkids!

Today was car maintenance day. Playing shade-tree grease monkey a bit.

Fairly cool in the GB Compound AO last couple of nights, slept with windows open and a light blanket up.

Had to send off a old Buck pocketknife for repairs a week or so ago. 82nd Airborne brother had given his groomsmen (including y’rs truly) a 3-bladed Buck pocketknife at his wedding some 25-ish years ago, with our initials stamped on them. I was skinning a squirrel and realized that the main blade was wiggling side-to-side. So, I thought I’d see if it could be repaired.
It couldn’t so they sent it back to me plus a replacement. Comparing the knife I’ve carried daily for 25 years with the new one – yeah, there’s been some wear on the scales.
Gonna take some getting used to with the replacement knife, but at least it comes almost as sharp as the old one was.
Plus they gave me a coupon for 25% off another knife. Not too bad a deal.

Y’all have a safe weekend, I’ll meet you at the churchhouse Sunday.

So what’s life like in Seattle’s new CHAZ? According to this guy, it’s great! All those calls about violent crime, the videos we’ve seen of violence, and the reports of other nefarious activities are all wrong. It’s just right wing media talking points.

https://www.thestranger.com/slog/2020/06/11/43888539/an-exceedingly-chill-day-at-the-capitol-hill-autonomous-zone

It’s really chill in the violent insurrectionist paradise.

Also, every time I see pictures of one of the community guardians they’re kitted out with an AR and boogaloo gear. Far more militaristic than anything a uniformed police force looks like.

A Proud Infidel®™

OH but the CHAZ folks have even “planted a Garden” if you want to call it that. They laid cardboard on the grass, put potting soil atop it and then put plants ON it! I’m sure that they’ll be even further “woke” when they discover that in real life that plants DO NOT produce as fast as they do in video games and that’s when I’m sure that they’ll just blame President Trump while calling the plants “racist”!

A Proud Infidel®™

OH, and what are the little shits doing for food, are they conning suckers into sending them free-range organic tofu and other shit like that? MY advice to the snotnosed little snowflake fleabags is to STAY in their current locations and please DO NOT BREED. Once they go out into Red State America is when they will get their little fleabag asses handed back to them unless they come to a neck of the woods like mine where nearly ALL of us own firearms and at least half of us own excavators!

Plenty of sane folks are now planning their exits to places that enforce rights and quell riotous behavior and other violence.

Well well well. Irony of ironies. The new warlord of Seattle CHAZ is now in trouble with the Wokerati. A bunch of Raz Simone’s old Twitter texts have been unearthed that are violently homophobic. The Duke of CHAZ claimed he was hacked, but the forensic evidence shows otherwise. The whitey wokerati is now up in arms and threatening to cancel and deplatform him, but the Duke and his underlings have AKs and beaucoup ammo, so the outcome of this intersectional SJW cage match is problematical and uncertain as of now. And all of this coming out during Gay Pride Month, no less…shame shame…

Pooh, you hit ‘em with the dreaded “P” word! You’re not supposed to call them what they call us!

I was watching a DC-10 tanker doing laps between here and Tucson today, and it made me wonder just how effective an aerial tanker could be for riot control… Maybe not DC-10 size… maybe something like a Canadair CL-215. 1440 gallons @ 8.34 lbs per gallon = one serious douching.

The Other Whitey

Speaking from experience, that DC-10 sucks balls as an airtanker. Too big, too unwieldy, can’t share airspace with other tankers, can’t safely drop near ground personnel, and can’t safely get low enough for effective retardant coverage in anything but pancake-flat terrain. Give me an S-2T or a P-3 Orion any day.

I imagine it could probably pull off aerial delivery of mace, pepper spray, or CS well enough, though.

SFC D

From my non-firefighter perspective, I had the same thoughts. It’s impressive as hell, but didn’t look all that effective in the Catalinas.

Mason

They actually use the DC-10 as a fire tanker? I thought all the fire platforms were smaller for the reasons you outline.

The Other Whitey

The media loves the goddamn thing, because bigger MUST be better, right? The politicians love it because the media loves it. And it just getting the damn thing wheels-up costs more than a full day of operations for our entire fleet of S-2s, OV-10s, and Hueys.

They almost crashed it when the wingtip clipped a pine tree on the Sawtooth Fire back in ‘06. The official story was that it’s such a great aircraft that the flight characteristics were unaffected and the pilot’s didn’t even notice anything wrong. According to my sister, who was running a retardant mix plant at the airbase and witnessed the emergency landing, the left aileron was hanging by one hinge/actuator/whatever, and the pilot came out of the hatch, immediately dropped prone, and kissed the tarmac.

African-Americanized. They didn’t become truly violent until they were subjected to the systemic racism in the US.

11B-Mailclerk

I was thinking “hippies”. The communist and violent subset of sixties-style hippies are the creatures running the current madness and riots.

“Color” or a continent has nothing to do with it. Legitimate gripes about racist dingleberry behavior got hijacked by the usual communist “violent overthrow of the US government” ass-hattery.

including a Ranger Tab and the Pathfinder Badge.

Command Sgt. Maj. Perry McNeill was convicted last week by a military judge
who sentenced McNeill to a demotion to sergeant first class,
a letter of reprimand and
to forfeit $500 in pay per month for 10 months.

Just a tad old. That story is five years old.

We even talked about it here; https://valorguardians.com/blog/?p=59142

Great result. There is nothing worse than an active duty valor thief. They have to be extremely brazen nowadays to attempt it because there are personnel clerks that have access to their records, which are all digital. It’s not like the olden days of Richard Cayton where one could add crap to the paper 201 file everyone hand carried from PCS to PCS assignments.

Beets, huh? That explains borscht.

Well, maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll start cannabalizing each other, as happened in China during Mao’s Great Asswise Pratfall.

Of course, the way to get rid of them is to send them a horrendous water bill that they can’t pay and cut off the water and/or other utilities when they can’t pay.

Should I do the “early snow weather” chant and dance for that area? I don’t think they’ll last long without real heat. And early blizzard out of the northwest, howling down from Alaska’s most open areas, e.g., that archipelago called the Aleutians. We’re heading toward a Dalton Minimum which will start to get serious right around the time these dimwits hit their 70s (if they last that long), and it won’t be pretty.

I would love to live long enough to see what happens to them by that time. If The Doctor would just show up with the Tardis….

HELP REQUESTED — DOUBLE PHONY ALERT — HELP REQUESTED. GEORGE TEAL of Castle Rock, Colorado, a candidate for Douglas County Commissioner, has already been exposed as a lying phony Desert Storm TIMES Veteran. (Much like 1 of our favorites, Les Brown of Elko, Nevada). His VFW membership has been TERMINATED by Colorado & National. It got WORSE last night. Instead of coming clean, telling the truth, or apologizing, George Teal has just posted a corroboration, a testimonial, by a “Special Forces Green Beret” named Jay Ledbetter, a local attorney in his town. The claims are incredible, and defy logic. In addition, a PDF file contradicting this NEW story is already out there, a higher headquarters after action report on reserve units, stating that Teal’s unit was NEVER in combat training, NEVER scheduled to deploy to the Middle East, and was ALWAYS slated for “Security Detail” in GERMANY. (As many were, like Les Brown’s unit.) Can someone with expedient Green Beret verification skills or personal contact with GGB get to the bottom of Special Forces Green Beret (?) Jay Ledbetter, fast? Seriously, WHY would a legit Green Beret LIE for a known lying Desert Storm Times Veteran? The election concludes in 6 days, on Friday, June 19. The opponent is Clint Dorris, a a legit helicopter war veteran with a Bronze Star. HERE is the Ledbetter testimonial link: https://www.facebook.com/GeorgeForDougCo/posts/191763418968138 (Paste)- George Teal – a man of courage, integrity and honor: Let me tell you first-hand of George’s military service. First of all, he is a legitimate Desert Storm wartime veteran who served with distinction. I first met George during my assignment as an Rifle Platoon Leader with the 87th Infantry. His paratrooper wings already showed he was not any ordinary soldier. By the time I was on staff in battalion headquarters, I had seen George perform for some time. It was clear to me he was top-rung. During Desert Storm, we were one of the first units called-up. We were told we would first deploy to a forward staging area, then would move to the front after the first few days… Read more »

Well as a fully qualified Special Forces Officer and as a former ODA commander of two SF “A” teams, there is no way this lawer was selected to be an A team XO at Ft. Benning. He would first have to complete/graduate the Special Forces Officer Course at Ft. Bragg which back then was 12 weeks in duration. Then he would have to be assigned to one of the Special Forces groups. Many officers attended that course, including foreign officers, who were never assigned to any Special Forces group. We need to see FOIA on both these clowns.

MarineDad61

Good evening, rgr769
Can Guardians of the Green Beret be contacted about this?
The FOIA on George Teal isn’t that important now,
since he’s already been vetted by the VFW as never in war zone,
and never VFW eligible…
Unless….
MP and VG finds this story of possible double phonies compelling,
much like Jowers and Foley, but different,
with 1 good vet and 1 soiled vet against each other,
with the 1 soiled vet getting false witness support
from a 2nd soiled vet friend.

Thanks.

rgr769

Some of the Admins here likely know how to contact them. It is also likely on the GGB website. I just looked at this joker’s bio on his lawfirm website. He must have written it himself, as he is one of the partners. It claims he served in an Air Force special operations team that went into Cambodia, Laos, and North Vietnam to rescue POWs. Those operations on the ground were exclusively perfomed by personnel (all Army SF except for a few SEALs) in MACVSOG. They were known as Bright Light missions. In my opinion, this lawer is full of it. There were USAF Jolly crews flying out of Thailand to rescue downed pilots in those countries, but they didn’t conduct operations to rescue POW’s. There are several chapters on Bright Light ops in MAJ John Plaster’s excellent book on the history of MACVSOG; none of them mention USAF personnel in POW recovery operations, except for the Jolly crews flying the SOG teams in for the Son Tay Raid into North Vietnam.

I might also add that according to Wikipedia the 3d Bn/87th Infantry is a U.S. Army Reserve unit headquartered at Ft. Carson, CO. I find it difficult to believe ol’ Jay did all the things claimed in the Book of Face write-up as a Reserve Officer, especially while still operating a law practice. I bet Jay can’t even tell you where SOCOM is sited without looking it up.

MarineDad61

thebesig,
Thank you. Sincerely.
See below..
I’m a bit slow on the internet the next few days.

Mail in ballots sent out on June 8.
Expedience is important on this one.

rgr769

You can contact Guardians of the Green Beret on their website. Upper right corner is a contact link, but you have to have Windows ten Outlook email on your computer. I don’t care to configure my email to Outlook for Windows 10, and I don’t have that as my operating system, anyway.

rgr769

I note that on the GGB site they want URL links to fakebook pages and any other written material where the person claims to be special forces. I would recommend you include the link to Jay’s law firm’s website.
