In his first major national address since the coronavirus pandemic began, Barry delivered a commencement speech to graduates at historically black colleges Saturday. And much of his advice to students was an indictment of the Trump administration’s management of the pandemic.
Ironically, one of the ‘toons on Boomer’s Sunday is a quote from Teddy Roosevelt, and states “Complaining about a problem without posing a solution is called whining.”
Pretty apt.

Former President Barack Obama said in a commencement speech on Saturday that current leaders during the coronavirus crisis were failing 2020 graduates.
“More than anything this pandemic has fully finally torn back the curtain on the idea that so many of the folks in charge know what they’re doing,” he said. “A lot of them aren’t even pretending to be in charge.”
The former president did not directly criticize Donald Trump, but he repeatedly referred to leaders currently in power.
“Broad majorities agree on the ends,” he said, urging graduates to seek unity. “That’s why folks with power will keep trying to divide you over the means. That’s how nothing changes.”

Sounds like he is not happy with the Trump Administration. Who should get the blame? The Democrats and the Main Stream Media. They decided that Hillary Clinton would be crowned Queen Of America, primary results be damned. Barrack Obama is so confident that Joe Biden is the right choice to lead this country through this crisis and repair the damage done by the current administration that it only took him 355 days from the day that Biden announced his candidacy to when Obama endorsed him. That should give you some clue in the confidence that Obama has in Biden’s abilities.

Obama did plenty to divide peoples of the US himself while president. He also had plenty of scandals of his own, especially the one we received new information about recently.

And how is Joe Biden the better choice? If he has any bright ideas for running America, why weren’t they implemented during the eight years of the Obama-Biden Administration? Tell us why we should vote for Biden, not why we should not vote for Trump.
As someone who dislikes Trump and thinks Biden is a moron, I think one of the key differences is that Biden doesn’t have the ego. He’s a moron, but he knows he’s a moron, and will appoint smarter people to key positions.
And I expect none of those people will be relatives. My distaste from Trump is amplified by the roles his family plays. I’m quite sure that had Hillary asked Chelsea to negotiate a mid-East peace plan, conservative heads would’ve exploded.
I didn’t like my choices in 2016, and don’t like them now. But I do think in that regard, Biden is better.

Seems to me it would take a huge ego to skinny-dip in front of strangers, even at your own home – plus to lay hands on God alone knows how many women (and at least one male LEO) without their consent.
Biden is a liar (see his abject, total, and repeated falsehoods regarding the death of his first wife; was caught to be a plagiarist at least 2x, separated by decades (in law school and while in the Senate, if I recall correctly); and went from being one of the poorest Senators to being rather wealthy while VP. And he’s baldface threatened another foreign nation (Ukraine) while serving as VP if they didn’t quit investigating his son’s apparently corrupt business dealings. All of those smack of ego to me.
When it comes to Biden, I’m reminded of Churchill’s comment regarding a political opponent: “If he ran for office against the Devil, I’d at least put in a good word for his opponent in the House of Commons” (or something to that effect).
Fair enough – I should’ve been more clear. Biden definitely has an ego in some areas, but doesn’t think he’s the biggest genius in the world. That’s where I expect he’ll hire bright people.

Once again, I don’t like Biden, but I do think he’s less arrogant on anything resembling government policy.
Biden’s also essentially a clueless fool, and has zero character. He also doesn’t have a clue how the real world works outside of DC.

I have problems with nepotism mainly because the relations are generally incompetent morons who could never get or keep a job without those coattails upon which they ride. That is not the case here. There can be no question about the intelligence of these kids.
The other side of the coin…
When you have been and are being attacked, when you know that nearly everyone around you has an agenda of, at minimum, their own personal gain, one can understand trusting family above all others.
I have friends I’ve known for many decades whom I love with all my heart. They are people I agree with on most every important issue, and I admire their intellect, integrity and accomplishments and literally trust with my life, my money and my future.
But they have their own lives. Their own businesses to run. Their own family’s future to plan for and protect. And, I can’t expect them to drop their lives and devote themselves to my life, my vision, my plans, and face nothing but vilification for their loyalty. And my life and challenges are absolutely nothing and inconsequential in comparison.
I can’t imagine if I had the responsibility of the free world in front of me and was required to step into a den of thieves, liars, snakes and scammers, many who were placed into their position by an ideologically opposite predecessor who know part of my agenda was to end their future influence. The only ones you can ask to step into that morass with you is family.
I’m in agreement with you on the nepotism point, but I do have an issue with the Trump kids working that close to the oval office. Having that much family involved in the presidency makes me nervous, as it appears to me to being too much of a consolidation of unelected, nearly unfireable government advisors. I had the same issues with Hillary being propped up asa the queen of health care during the Clinton years, and I’m sure many people had similar issues with RFK and JFK.
The big difference between the Trump kids and that Biden kid? The Trump kids were doing pretty damn good without using daddy’s political position as leverage. Did Trump give them an advantage? Of course he did. But at his own expense, not the nations.
