Canada has no Second Amendment protection for its citizens. Like a good little tyrant, Liberal Globalist Trudeau has decreed an Assault Weapons Ban throughout Canada. The ban includes forced surrender of about 250,000 hunting and sporting rifles in all. There is a two year compliance grace period; after that the potential of a prison term, duration unspecified. Apparently there is a buy-back possibility in the works, but once again, how does a government “buy back” anything? It’s confiscation with tax dollars.
Canadian PM Announces Immediate Ban of 1,500 Different Firearms

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau announced a ban on 1,500 different firearms on Friday, effective immediately.
CBS News reports that the new list of prohibited firearms centers on “assault-style” guns. Trudeau said, “These weapons were designed for one purpose and one purpose only: to kill the largest number of people in the shortest amount of time. There is no use and no place for such weapons in Canada.”
The ban contains an amnesty period, allowing current owners of the firearms up to two years to comply.
Public Safety Minister Bill Blair commented on the ban, saying, “As of today, the market for assault weapons in Canada is closed,” Public Safety Minister Bill Blair said. “Enough is enough. Banning these firearms will save Canadian lives.”
On April 30, Breitbart News reported that the ban would target AR-15s, the Ruger Mini-14 rifle, and other similar firearms. The Mini-14 was included in the ban because it was used in a 1989 attack on École Polytechnique.
A preliminary ban list (estimated ownership in parenthesis) includes:
- AR-15, M4, M16, AR-10 (83,572)
- Beretta CX4 Storm (1,513)
- CZ Scorpion Evo 3 (1,813)
- Robinson Armament XCR (1,834)
- Ruger Mini-14 (16,859)
- SIG Sauer MCX and MPX (1,000)
- Springfield Armory M14 (5,229)
- Swiss Arms Classic Green (1,342)
- CSA Vz. 58 (11,593)
- Total: 124,755
In addition, firearms that shoot ammunition with:
- Muzzle energy exceeding 10,000 joules (e.g. .50 BMG)
- Calibre exceeding 20 mm
How will Zoolander, sorry, Trudeau track down all those firearms? He’ll use the Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) and Restricted Possession and Acquisition License (RPAL) lists, of course. Want gun bans? Register them, ’cause that’s how you get gun bans.
Last thing and /rant. The Mini-14, really? It was used in a crime once nearly 40 years ago.
