Gun Sanctuary States Update

| April 25, 2020

Gun Sanctuary counties and cities in Virginia now cover the entire state, except for one county in the north, across the Potomac from The Swamp.  https://gunrightswatch.com/news/2019/11/24/virginia/virginia-has-become-an-overnight-tidal-wave-of-second-amendment-sanctuaries/

Note the dates of resolutions by county and city, and the remarks included. The State of Virginia went from red to green in what was almost the blink of an eye. Since the CV-19 episode began, I have not seen much in the way of squawking out of various states abut gun rights, although someone did mention here that people in California who had been anti-gun, and more recently found it necessary to acquire one, were surprised at the hoops they had to jump through to get one.

The sanctuary movement has taken a back seat in the news since the onset of the CV19 pandemic, but when warmer weather comes along, that will very likely change. There is more local news reporting now on the return of street and gang violence.

From the article:  Lastly, what’s next? After the vast swaths of geographical landmass with relatively modest populations pass this protest language into existence, then what? Go home? Back to one’s everyday life, accept that “elections have consequences” and to vote harder in the next election? Hardly! Second Amendment sanctuary resolutions are proving to be a springboard to broader civil disobedience. Immediate steps of nullification by way of police discretion, prosecutorial dismissal, jury nullification, and judicial verdicts are already being seen. The resolutions are the warm tropical waters that enable massive hurricanes to spawn. Even many highly intelligent libertarian and conservative thinkers have missed that fact. It is the genesis of a potentially enormous being. The sharp, tumultuous divide between urban leftists and rural or small-town citizens who value their rights will continue to be manifested in widespread civil disobedience and non-compliance. – article

The history of gun control in the USA is at this link, broken into four parts: https://gunrightswatch.com/main/the-history-of-gun-control-in-america/

It’s a long read, but worth your time, so pop some popcorn, get a cold or hot beverage and settle in for the long haul. It’s informative and certainly worth your time.

To all you gun toting Virginians…HERE HERE!!! Lady Liberty is alive and well and coming to a town near you soon.

AW1Ed

“Sanctuary” has an entirely different meaning in the PDRofMD. Since the state is entirely run by three counties and the endless river of suck that is the City of Baltimore, little change is expected.

That’s OK- the “Will Not Obey” numbers are huge, and most of the elected Sheriffs refuse to enforce the onerous and unconstitutional gun laws.

“There is -no- Sanctuary.”

Slow Joe

Nah. That link is too long.

I rather remain uneducated on gun control history than wasting my afternoon reading all that.

Then at least remember, if you are ever tapped for jury duty and the trial involves an otherwise law abiding citizen that was hemmed up by unjust gun laws you have the power to shut that shit down.

Two words “Jury nullification”

11B-Mailclerk

Not proven.

I have doubts.

Penguinman000

Not sure how it’s not founded, goes back to our founding fathers. Contentious maybe (OJ verdict any one) but juries can do pretty men ch whatever they want. Whether it be a charge or expressing their displeasure of the law.

11B-Mailclerk

“Not proven”

“I have doubts”

Lecturing on the principle of jury nullification just gets one tossed during Voir Dire. (Latin for “jury tampering” )

Being skeptical is just doing ones Duty.

“… I just don’t buy it. I am unconvinced by the prosecutor. I doubt the argument.”

“Twelve Angry Men” should be the
standard for one to contemplate
Jury nullification.

I would rather see a trial drawn
out to it’s logical conclusion
based on the rule of law but yeah,
failing that the people have the
last word.

That’s a shame, Joe, because you missed this great line:

“The resolutions are the warm tropical waters that enable massive hurricanes to spawn.”

As an old geezer, ol’ Poe just hopes he lives long enough to see this storm sweep from sea to shining sea. And to observe our American convention of naming hurricanes, I propose we call this big ol’ bitch of a blast that blows away Democrats and bureaucrats…wait for it:

Virginia!

AW1Ed

Is it ignorance or apathy, SJ?

“I don’t know and I don’t care!”

*grin*

Not calling you ignorant AT ALL. Apathetic and and willfully uninformed? Maybe so.

Move along folks, nothing to see here. It’s just Slow Joe’s feeble trolling attempt.

I blame BudLight.

Fairfax County should just secede an join DC.

Speaking as a resident of Virginia, Fairfax/NORVA is to VA what Tijuana is to the rest of Mexico.

We’ve got our issues but that place doesn’t come close to resembling the rest.

Good read Mi’Lady, Thanks!

All the news that is not related to the Chinese Communist Originated Virus Infecting Disease of 2019 (COVID19) is MIA. The domestic enemies of our country have tried everything else to get rid of Trump and this was their last great hope.

The issue is NOT gun control it is people control. We have lost more freedoms in the last 60 days than we ever have and the gubmint lackeys are paying attention. There are people now that if they were told to get in the cattle cars at the train station to go to a quarantine camp, they would stampede their way there. And once there, they would flood into the showers for the disinfecting spray.

As much as I love and respect our military, and as strong and modern that it is, the ONLY reason to date that the US Mainland has not been invaded is the knowledge that there is a loaded weapon behind every bush and blade of grass.

Molon Labe!

UpNorth

True, KOB. The cattle cars have been replaced by auto carriers, 89 ft long and double stacked, but the lefties will still expect everyone to file silently into the cars. Hopefully, they get a copper jacketed surprise.

11B-Mailclerk

The trick is to dissuade the bastards before they try to run passenger rail.

It is essential.

AW1Ed

“…and this was their last great hope.”

Sadly, it’s their next great hope. When this fails they’ll just drum up another.

Note the dates of resolutions by county and city, and the remarks included. The State of Virginia went from red to green in what was almost the blink of an eye.

We’ve gone blue starting in 2006. We’ve been getting many transplants in the US Northeast, and from adjacent liberal states adjacent to us. We did go green, with regards to Second Amendment sanctuaries, “in the blink of the eye.”

penguinman000

If the WV governor’s invitation to join the state ever hits the VA ballot the west half of the state is gone like a shot.

Well in Burlington Vermont (Bernie Town) last week one of Bernie’s kids was upset that a gas station would not let him charge his headphones. So he did what they do and shot the place up inside and out in front of a police officer. He pled not guilty of course. In the prior days he had five (5) run in with law enforcement for brandishing his Pew-Pew. When police are not aloud to be police. Thanks Bernie.

But you’re talking about the crotch spawn of liberal pols and we all “KNOW” that they’re as privileged and and above the law as their spawners, just look at how the mess media hush-hushed about Al Gore III doing 100+MPH from the Po-po in a Prius with drugs in the car!

California.
Very rural.
Way rural.

Low key I had friends and family hit me up for *possibly* ‘borrowing’ some protection.
It’s amazing to me how well fear motivates people. May we never again have to fight for liberty.

Things are going to get weird, and difficult.

But I believe that the coming problems will work out rather badly for the would-be masters.

It will be impossible to hide that the coming troubles were deliberately and needlessly induced.

Consequences.

With everything building up against the dam wall, maybe doing absolutely nothing is the most pragmatic solution.
I’m afraid it’s out of anyone’s control at this point though.
See you on the other side!
