Indirect Evidence of Higher Chinese Coronavirus Death Count

| March 30, 2020

Many here pointed out that the coronavirus numbers coming from China are suspect. Tracked death count so far runs between 3,100 and 3,400 as of this posting. However, activities on the ground in Wuhan hints that more have died in China as a result of this virus.

Wuhan area families receive cremated remains each day. Crematoriums are working long hours. The number of urns handed out and hours worked in the crematoriums, puts the potential death numbers above 40,000.

From Radio Free Asia:

Some social media posts have estimated that all seven funeral homes in Wuhan are handing out 3,500 urns every day in total.

Funeral homes have informed families that they will try to complete cremations before the traditional grave-tending festival of Qing Ming on April 5, which would indicate a 12-day process beginning on March 23.

Such an estimate would mean that 42,000 urns would be given out during that time.

Various calculations

Another popular estimate is based on the cremation capacity of the funeral homes, which run a total of 84 furnaces with a capacity over 24 hours of 1,560 urns city-wide, assuming that one cremation takes one hour.

This calculation results in an estimated 46,800 deaths.

A resident of Hubei province, of which Wuhan is the capital, said most people there now believe that more than 40,000 people died in the city before and during the lockdown.

There’s also the question of the actual number infected. Granted, these numbers are based on tests and doctor diagnosis. However, there were reports that government officials in China allegedly rejected the actual numbers and insisted on their official numbers.

Many of these are guesses/estimates from the ground, but the number of cremated remains handed out is inconsistent with official numbers. This is just from Hubei. The rest of China also was impacted by the virus. Radio Free Asia has the article here.

The Chinese have been LYING about the Wuhan Virus
(Yes, Wuhan)
from the beginning.

FOX is on it (3 hours ago).

The Chinese have had problems for years in managing outbreaks:

https://www.statnews.com/2020/01/27/bird-flu-sars-china-coronavirus-is-history-repeating-itself/

The same obfuscation and denial came from China’s Communist authorities in reaction to the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) epidemic, also caused by a coronavirus, in late 2002 and 2003. Even as the virus spread, Chinese officials continued to undercount cases and delay reporting information to the World Health Organization.

Berliner

“There have been numerous reports that the coronavirus may have emerged from a lab in Wuhan, China. In February, the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology put out a directive titled: “Instructions on strengthening biosecurity management in microbiology labs that handle advanced viruses like the novel coronavirus.”

It turns out that in all of China there is only one such lab, the New York Post wrote. “And this one is located in the Chinese city of Wuhan that just happens to be . . . the epicenter of the epidemic.””

David

and the National Review has an article about how CBP stopped a Chin ese national carrying LIVE VIRUS os SARS and MERS… in 2018. Would think someone might have commented on this officially? like with a phone call to the Chinese with a specific warning kinda like “hey, they are all weapons of mass destruction, use one we use them all”?

cobrakai99

Another article I read talked about cell phone plans being greatly reduced in Hubei overtime hinting at numbers about the same as the cremation estimates.

Two understand bloggers in the area using sat feeds have suggested between 100-160,000 deaths
On the low end in one zone in Wuhan a a refer truck yard of trailer counted 300 plus trailers this being
One of 30 yards that were set up just for Wuhan
So yes there number are full of shit
Another untold story is the death and mayhem in Iran were as of 0300 this morning one blogger posting video from central Iran clearly shows hundreds of body’s in a pit estimates there are now
Running as many as 175000 dead with a conservative estimate of 675000 infected

But…but…the NYT and WaPo and even Hillary! says the Chicom stats are all real and genuine and stuff, so the commie numbers must be LEGIT…(sarc)

Commissar

Did they? Or are you choose making it up? Or interpreting it out of context to be exactly the opposite of what they meant?

Combat Historian

The mainstream media has been using chicom stats with a straight face for weeks and months now. Hillary even tweeted a snarky tweet about how the USA has now surpassed the chicom wuhan flu totals. So yeah, Lars, it’s all true…

I have no idea where you all are getting this narrative.

The left has been saying China was lying about their numbers for weeks. Since at least early February.

You truly do live in a parallel universe, inside your deranged brain pan.

Ret_25X

I’m sure you don’t have any idea. That is not because you have not seen it, but because you simply assumed the narrative is correct.

After all, how could a corrupt, inept, lying regime like the CCP possibly be wrong, at fault, etc?

You really are living proof that education and intelligence are not correlated.

If there is anyone out there that believes ANYTHING that the Chinese Communist Government tells them then I have some very nice ocean front property to interest them in. Said property is accessed by way of a very historic and unique bridge.

The Chicoms could tell me the sky was blue and I would still look out a window to make sure.

Commies gonna commie.

Hondo

Well, 5/77, I believe there is ONE commenter (and maybe another) who believe at least some of what the PRC’s government says concerning some issues.

I’ll let you figure out who those one or two folks might be.

5th/77th FA

Good idea Hondo. With there being possibly 2 bidders, the empirical data should show a good return on my investment. I mean, how many people are willing to sell their ocean front property in South Dakota? As for the access bridge? Hey no bronx cheer here and I cannot tell a lie. It’s not falling down, but is a golden gate to insure your future. If I close the deal you’re to get a piece of the action for your referral.

HMCS(FMF) ret

But, is it a “black swan” event?

FC2(SW) Ron

Say, 5th…. can you describe the above said property in a little more detail? Also, I’ve always wanted to own a bridge and I’m really interested in history too!

On a more serious note, my biggest concern with the ChinCs is how deeply they have embedded their technology into our warships and aircraft via microchips on circuit boards: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2018-10-04/the-big-hack-how-china-used-a-tiny-chip-to-infiltrate-america-s-top-companies

5th/77th FA

‘Ron it’s a gorgeous piece of real estate, the southern view side shows waves of amber waves, like grains. To the west are mountains of majestic purple waves. Sitting upon a fruited plain, all of which are covered by by spacious skies. Depending on the gullibility, err err, the line of credit of the mark, I mean, potential sucker, damn it, the buyer, a variety of bridge configurations are available including some with a God like commanding presence or a place to control flights of steel winged birds of prey. Speaking of Birds, Senior, we do not limit the market base to black swans only. In retrospect that would be raciss, white swans have money too. I try to avoid the pink swans, they barely have a leg to stand on.

Oh, and no doubt at all that there are imbedded codes in every chip and circuit board the Chinese Communist supply to us, from consumer electronics, to industrial parts, to military hardware. If we can send a signal to a robot millions of miles away on another planet telling a certain circuit to turn on, why would anyone think that a signal couldn’t be sent to a device here somewhere bounced off of a telecommunications bird?

rgr769

I subscribed to it, and I am amazed at the crap the CCP gets away with because they control everything their sheeple see and hear. Plus, the sense of the “community” of the Chinese results in a kind of herd mentality that is easily exploited by a totalitarian form of one-party government.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Well goddammit if you can’t trust those lying commie bastards in China what is this world coming to?

Most people that don’t like Nixon don’t like him because of Watergate…he’s the bastard who reached out to China and started us down this road of working with the enemy of everything this nation stands for over the centuries.

stsHondo

Well, in 1972 we were in a world of hurt (Vietnam, economic issues, and the USSR not only still existed but was at or near its zenith). We needed to do something to improve our position vis-a-vis the Soviets. Would you have preferred that we lose the Cold War to the Soviets?

As it was, we damn near did lose the Cold War during the Peanut Farmer’s Administration anyway. Without the PRC acting as a de facto ally during portions of the latter Cold War as a counterweight to the USSR (one example: reputedly the PRC allowed us to set up monitoring stations to replace those lost in Iran during the Iranian Revolution), we damn well easily could have lost the Cold War in spite of Reagan replacing Jimmuh the Clueless.

Sometimes foreign policy boils down to the choice between which “devil” you want as an ally today. And that choice may change every few years or so.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

The point that you make rather well for me is the choice of devil to work with. Our mistake was allying with a devil and later assuming because we were allies the fucking Chinese were good guys…they are not. We would spend the Soviets into oblivion within 19 years of 1972, after that date there was no point in making or keeping China a most favored nation trading partner. No point beyond extending the wealth gap in the United States. Which is a different discussion entirely…

They are still to this day the devil we reached out to during Nixon’s years. The lesser of two evils is still an evil, it’s good to remember that.

Hondo

Lord Palmerston put it best. Paraphrasing: “Nations have neither permanent allies or enemies. Rather, nations have permanent interests.”

One can argue that even today there’s a good reason to keep China as a major trading partner; it benefits US consumers (lower prices for many goods) while at the same time reducing the likelihood of China becoming more militant and expansionist due to internal economic difficulties. But I certainly agree that since it was clear that the Cold War had permanently ended (I’d put that as circa 1995, give or take), we’ve not taken as hard a line with the PRC as we should have on many issues.

Deckie

The Chinese have been lying? Oh, if you could only see my shocked face.

The media and any American using the “we have passed China’s numbers,” line and putting any stock in what their government says are disgraces and on the same level as traitors. Every last fucking one of them.

Seriously, fuck them.

PROVE IT!

There are countless sources on the web that contradict your personal belief on this subject.

Hondo

Bingo.

From the Preamble to the 1982 Constitution of the PRC (emphasis added):

Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the guidance of Marxism- Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought, the Chinese people of all nationalities will continue to adhere to the people’s democratic dictatorship and follow the socialist road, steadily improve socialist institutions, develop socialist democracy, improve the socialist legal system and work hard and self-reliantly to modernize industry, agriculture, national defence and science
and technology step by step to turn China into a socialist country with a high level of culture and democracy.

Though there have been later amendments to the 1982 PRC Constitution, that paragraph remains unchanged.

Strange how those communists who aren’t communists call themselves communists, Lars.

No need to worry though, he is over 86 years old, blind in one eye and can’t see much out of the other.

My recommendation, based on my vast knowledge, the aforementioned empirical evidence and also my Berkeley education, indicates that you will only need one magazine in you M4, one belt of ammo for your machine guns, no grenades and especially no need for overhead air support or artillery…..(as a heavily armed battalion lies in ambush).

Glad I ain’t the only person that thinks the Communist Government of China is working very hard at bio warfare. Hmmm, seems like I’ve pitched this ball right across the plate several times. The dog food deaths of tainted pet products a few years back was the FIRST Test run. Anybody else thought about all the e coli infections that keep popping up on the veggies? And what about all the vaping problems of late? Where are those vape machines coming from? Human life means nothing to the Communist Chinese. They could kill a billion of their own people and still out number us…or the Soviets.

Thanks for posting this one Senior.

Hondo

An officially Socialist and Marxist-Leninist country led by a Communist Party hiding and denying an accidental release of a biological warfare agent that led to a deadly outbreak of disease? Why, that could never happen!

Oh, wait – it already has.

https://nsarchive2.gwu.edu/NSAEBB/NSAEBB61/

The facility in question was Compound 19, on the southeast outskirts of then-Sverdlovsk (today Yekaterinaburg, Russia’s 4th largest city). On the date of the incident, the wind was blowing away from the city. Ken Alibek, former First Deputy Director of the USSR’s Biopreparat, has indicated that had the wind been blowing towards Sverdlovsk instead the death toll might have been in the tens or hundreds of thousands.

rgr769

There were about 5,000 sheep who were exhibit A in our own little NBC oops at Dugway, Utah, in the 1960’s. Wind can be tricky, as both sides learned in WWI.

Hondo

The most accepted theory regarding the Skull Valley Sheep Kill incident doesn’t really include an unexpected wind shift. Rather, the most accepted theory is that a test aircraft spray system malfunctioned and continued to dispense agent after a low-level spray test as the aircraft climbed to altitude. The plume from the undesired release at altitude is then though to have drifted over and settled in Skull Valley.

rgr769

This is the first explanation I have seen. Back when it happened, the honchos at Dugway weren’t exactly forthcoming with what went wrong.

Hondo

I believe it was the 1990s before that bit of info was made public. First reference I can find that might include the details of the incident is a reference to a Deseret News article from 1994. And that article has aged off the Internet server that formerly had it available, so I’m not even positive that that was when it was first made public.

ArmyATC

I believe that incident was the inspiration for the 1972 George C. Scott movie “rage.”

OWB

Can’t wait for the Congressional inquiries about all this. Did the Chinese (Is it still OK to call the Chinese Chinese??) release this intentionally? Was it an accident? Does it really matter??

However it got out, talk about election interference! This must be the grandest example ever. Even if the release of the virus WAS accidental, what advantage would there be for China in honestly reporting what was occurring? By initially downplaying it, preparedness was delayed around the world thus causing much more harm to China’s enemies.

I am not that knowledgeable about internal PRC politics and repression, but as a student of the Holocaust I will point out this; Killing a large number of people in a genocide/liquidation isn’t difficult, controlling them (corralling them as it were) and disposing of the bodies is the hard part. Oh and keeping it hidden.
For the life of me I don’t understand why you would weld an apartment door shut as part of a quarantine, unless you just didn’t want anyone to see inside.
