Where, Oh Where Has Ex-PH2 Gone?

| March 25, 2020 | 29 Comments

One and only shot of Ex-PH2’s full solar eclipse

Where, oh where can she be?

Sorry, can’t carry a tune in a bucket.

Good news, she’s getting lots of rest at home with her attack cat.

Bad news, she’s getting lots of rest at home with her attack cat because of reactions to meds she’s been prescribed. Knocked the wind from her sails.

She has been out and about looking for photo ops, and reports:

Took a long drive up north to the two parks I frequent all year long. Both are closed, and not for restocking the fishing pond, either. Very disappointed, but on the way back, I saw every “angler” lined up at another spot closer to SR41, which goes north into Wisconsin, and that “pond” is never restocked.  And gas is $2.149/gal for regular here in my kingdom. Hit the grocery store for a few vegs refills and ice cream and milk, but the store is limiting  paper products to 2 per person, and they are almost cleaned out now.

Then I stopped at the restaurant over on the highway, which is now doing take-out curb service only until further notice. The “dish” I picked is large enough for two meals, and I said “Hold the fries, gimme fruit instead”, as a substitute.  That’s my Big Adventure for today. I may go out again this evening before sunset, just to roam around a bit. I may take a camera along, but don’t expect to see anything other than empty roads (except for truckers).

I will be SO GLAD when this crap is over and done with. I want my fishing/water bird pond back, fer Pete’s sake.

Aren’t we all.

Worst news, she’s trying to be kind, and recommending I post up tomorrow’s cooking post, something simple and hearty. Heh. Kimchee and fish heads are simple and hearty. That’s why they have soju.

Anyway, she’s watching, and will be back as soon as she can. So do some of that Wilted Willy-fu you did, for Ex this time. I personally think it was a combination of joss sticks and the voodoo skull with rum, but I’m an equal opportunity agnostic. Whatever floats yer boat or puts Bernoulli’s under your wings. I’m no judge.
*grin*
Be kind, stay safe, and wash your hands.

      Fish heads and kimchee?

Sounds like part of the “truth serum” at my CPO initiation.

Wouldn’t be complete, though, without a dash of Nuoc Mam and a generous dollop of Vegemite.

YUM! May I have some more, sir!

  6. A Proud Infidel®™️ says:

  16. 11B-Mailclerk says:

    Be well. You are missed.

  17. Hondo says:

Sorry for the delayed reply, Ex; was on the road. Get better soon, lass.

FWIW: sometimes docs prescribe a dose that they know will be of therapeutic value but which also might be “overkill” for a particular patient. For many, a reduced dose will still be therapeutic but won’t cause as many side-effects. Might want to discuss that with the doc and see if he/she will let you give reduced dosage of whatever’s kicking your butt a try (pill cutters work great once you get the hang of using them).

  18. OWB says:

Well, well, well. Take a few days off and look what happens. All sorts of stuff, most of it not quite mentionable. Tried to slip something past us, eh, PH? Huh. You should have known better than that. And now you do. We hope.

Kick that crap to the curb! Get it gone. Right NOW. Need a few of us to come ‘plain the facts of life to what ails ya AND your doc? ‘Cause we could do that, and it won’t be purdy.

Thoughts and prayers continue for you and the docs sorting through this, kiddo. We’ve got you back, as much as we can from 6 feet, or so, away.

  19. Wilted Willy says:

Ex, you know I will be praying for you! Keep your fur baby close and it will speed your recovery! Just call me if I can do anything to help??
    Take care,
    Willy

  20. Ex-PH2 says:

Thanks, all of you. When all of this “bug” scare and the rest of it are but a memory, life may just get back to “normal”, whatever that is.

Dreary and cold weather doesn’t help, either.

    • Commissioner Wretched says:

“Normal” is just a setting on your dryer, Ex. But I fervently wish two things: a speedy return to good health for you, and for all of us, a return to the way it was back in, say, November?

  21. Graybeard says:

    Praying for you Ex-PH2.

Those meds fit the old adage: The cure is worse than the disease. But hopefully you’ll overcome again.

  22. Dennis - not chevy says:

    Best wishes.

  23. Veritas Omnia Vincit says:

EX-PH2, know we are all thinking of you and wishing a speedy recovery to full health!

Rest up, get healthy and we’ll all be here to welcome you back!

  24. Peter the Bubblehead says:

    Feel better soon, Petty Officer!
