Walker County man shot after prowling Boldo neighborhood, breaking into cars

WALKER COUNTY, Ala. —
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday a burglar in the Boldo community was shot in the leg by a homeowner while prowling in the area.

The sheriff’s office said several residents in the area reported the man prowling near multiple homes January 31. When responding to the call, deputies said the suspicious man was recognized by a homeowner as Jimmie Sanders and was shot in the leg. Sanders had apparently been in the area recently.

Sanders fled the scene on foot, but deputies were able to find him quickly. Paramedics were called and Sanders was taken to Brookwood Baptist Hospital in Jasper.

Police: Woman Exchanges Shots With Would-Be Robber In Little Village, But No One Is Struck

CHICAGO (CBS) — A woman exchanged gunshots with a man who was robbing her in Little Village Thursday evening, but no one ended up being shot.

The robbery happened in the 4100 block of West 24th Place at 6:51 p.m., police said.

The 33-year-old woman was in front of her home when she was approached by a man who pulled a gun and demanded her property, police said.

The woman refused to hand over anything and took out her own gun, police said. The man and woman both fired their guns, but neither was struck, police said.

The robber ran off, police said.

An alleged violent relationship ended when a woman shot and killed her boyfriend in River Grove, police say. The case divides law enforcement authorities.

By: JENNIFER JOHNSON
A few hours after sharing a meal at a Chicago restaurant with his girlfriend, Steef Giovanni Corniel was dead — shot four times at an apartment building in River Grove.

The woman holding the gun was Corniel’s girlfriend, according to police.

It was the culmination of a day punctuated by incidents of domestic violence inflicted on the woman by Corniel, police reports say. In her statement to police, she said Corniel hit and slapped her while she was driving, choked her in her apartment and threatened to kill her and her mother.

The case divides law enforcement authorities, with River Grove police Chief Mike Konwinski calling it “murder” and Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s office saying there isn’t enough evidence to charge her with a crime.

Quite a mix today, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. A limping prowler, a bloodless shoot-out, and a permanent end to a woman beater. One DRT, one inconvenienced, and one in the wind. I’d call that an FGS flush.

An FGS Baby Flush is almost as good as a Friday WOT FIRST. Losing to a zoomie is only slightly offset by earning another entry to the TAH HoI. I was well on my way to the coveted WOT ACE until the time change, err…Dave fixed the clock. Either way, we’ll take the pot.

Check out the linky on the girlfriend story. Seems as if hometater was a good boy, trying to turn his life around and move to Fluraduhuh, soon as Grandpa bought him a ticket. Having been falsely accused of domestic violence I do take some of those stories with a big grain of salt. Since there can only be a she said, they said, instead of he said, we may never know, the rest of the story. He did have that whole “thug life” look about him so there is that.

Ahhh Wheeled gun pr0n…some of my favorite. ‘Specially when it is of the hand cannon variety. One thing about wheel guns is that will generally work, or can be made to function under most any circumstance. Y’all remember the comment I made the other day about how everyone wants to try and identify somehow with the works and designs of the Saintly John Moses Browning? (Howitzer be his name) Even the reviewer of this one was in on that. Check the review where he states, in talking about the grips, “the 1911-ish sweep.” I just had to laff. Good Times!

Gee, and I assumed the funky grips were an attempt to make a normal DA point like a Bisley.

I think I will just stick to my Security Six with the Hogue grips.
