SUFFER!!!!!!!!!!! Told y’all it was gonna be a good week. And an excellent donnybrook it was indeed. So so so very close, which as we all know….only counts in hand grenades, horse shoes and atomic weapons. Be still my beating heart. BP is 173/106 pulse at 85. Chill out there Gun Bunny. It’s been running a little high the last few days. I attribute that to a serious case of lackanookie.

Another FIRST for the King of Battle for the ALWAYS EARNED NEVER GIVEN, TAH Friday Weekend Open Thread. Hot wings, pizza, tacos, and cold frosty beverages all around! My treat!

Skyjumper

KOB, did you know there was a P51D (Mustang) that fought in WWII named “LACKA NOOKIE”?

comment image

Also was a Barrel Horse named:
“TU LACKANOOKIE”

comment image

Damn! I think I just contracted the trivia virus from Commissioner Wretched! (grin)

SFC D

There’s a cure for lackanookie.

Pocatwatalot.

And let’s not forget the Hawaiian love call…

5th/77th FA

Sky, I knew about the P51, had a customer that was affiliated with the Confederate Air Force before political correctness forced the name change to the Commemorative Air Force. They had talked about painting that name on one that was for restoration, but I think the wives might have nixed that idea. Good while back, he was the fellow that made the fly in to Oshkosh every year. I still have that on my wanna be bucket list. Didn’t know about the barrel horse, but as good looking as that equine is, you’d think it wouldn’t be a problem.

SFC D, roger all that, I’ll just hang in there till Ms Thang shows back up. She prolly gonna raise hell when she looks at the BP record. Dumbass me, it’s been in the high 80s the last few days and while I was knocking the bottom out of few Yuenglings I ate a whole bag of Chex Mix yesterday. Got my monthly sodium intake in one sitting. Been flushing massive quantities of water today and got the BP down to 134/73 and BPM back to 69. Do wish I could get my “other extremity” to swell up like that ankle did.

OWB

An even better plan is to visit Osh Kosh with a CAF aircraft.

5th/77th FA

Don’t tease me OWB. That would be a kick. My main man retired out from the state 25 years back and passed away 12 some odd years ago. Had a chance to do just that in ’89, ex #2 had a hissy fit and it didn’t come together.

Fellas, if there is something you want to do, DO IT. Don’t think you’ll do stuff “when I retire.” I’m walking proof that sh^t can change in a heartbeat and things you wanted to do, you’re not able to do. On this date in history in 2018, I had my last easy day.

rgr769

KOB, if you want a P-51 ride, the Collings Foundation will be happy to accommodate you for $2500.00 next time their aircraft are in your AO.

Having all four post at the same time is kinda Ho-Hum now, that’s happened at least four other times, according to the log entries posted in the Coveted Book of WOT Firsts. The real benchmark for same time posters is to have five at the same time, which has happened twice so far, on 03 Feb 17 and again on 29 Mar 19.

Commissioner Wretched

The King of Battle rules again!!! Let all who will, rejoice! As things in our world move more and more toward the bizarre, this week’s column seems more than a little appropriate, don’t you think? With the Corona virus and all, doesn’t it seem as if we’re now living in the Twilight Zone? I must tell you, I had no idea when this column was written that things would be as they are … I write the column some eight to ten weeks in advance of publication. So the fact that it’s about “The Twilight Zone” and we are in our current situation is a huge coincidence – even though I don’t believe in coincidences. Anyway, please enjoy, and tell your friends about the column if they don’t already know. Tell your enemies, too … once they read this stuff, they just might become your friends! (Or at least my regular readers. I take what I can get.) DID YOU KNOW…? What are some of the trivial facts about the classic program, “The Twilight Zone”? By Commissioner Wretched Submitted for your approval … Last week, I had an item in the column about the theme from the classic 1959-1964 series, “The Twilight Zone.” That’s always been one of my favorite television shows, and I catch the reruns as often as I can. I’ve seen just about every episode more than a dozen times, and the hallmark of a good program is that you always catch something new no matter how many times you watch it. Such is the case with “The Twilight Zone.” So this week, I’m devoting the entire column to some interesting trivia about this classic program. Those of you in my age group or a bit older will remember the first run of the show; the rest will know it from syndication or the revivals over the years. Now, let’s go to the fifth dimension, the land beyond imagination, with some trivia about “The Twilight Zone.” Did you know … … one of the most iconic phrases of “The Twilight Zone” was only used three times? If… Read more »

Hack Stone

What happened to The Fifth Dimension? They went up, up and away in their beautiful balloon.

The Other Whitey

I had a very Twilight Zone-ish nightmare recently, probably because I had just watched a few old black & white reruns.

5th/77th FA

Tanks CW and another fine job on the trivia today. Not that we expected any different. Able to catch TZ on local broadcast METV at 0GOD30 here. Saw many of them when they were FIRST Broadcast back yonder during the days of my youth. CBS was the only channel we had for years. And, yep, no matter how many times I think I’ve seen an episode, I always seem to catch something I’ve missed before.

A Slide Zone is kinda sorta like a Twilight Zone…isn’t it?

Along with the baseball part – Paul Douglas had good training for this – he played the manager in the ORIGINAL (and better) Angels in the Outfield (1952).

rgr1480

And Rod Serling was AIRBORNE — he served in the 511th PIR! According to an article I read years ago, his daughter said he wore a bracelet with jumpwings and never took it off.

According to Wiki, he has one combat jump, CIB, Bronze Star Medal, and Purple Heart Medal.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_Serling

SFC D

I think Mr. Serling would’ve liked TAH. He’d probably have enough inspiration here to fill 10 seasons.

Poetrooper

Rgr1480, he’s wearing the bracelet in the Wiki portrait. Reading the Wiki account it appears he was a bit of a screw-up, going three years as a private. He sure made up for that though, didn’t he?

Mason

Steve McQueen similarly had some issues. If I remember right he was busted to private seven times while he was a Marine.

And just a reminder that although working in isolation from a home office and experiencing toilet paper shortages and limited contact with the outside world is nothing new for the company that Hack works for. In fact, the Vice President of the company had the foresight to implement these contingency plans in 2014. We train like we sell software, and we sell software like we train.

Red Dawn progress for those interested.

Woke up this morning to four inches of fresh powder, so I spent the morning outside with the kids. We share a nice little sledding slope with our neighbors, so they got to have a pretty good time.

Commissioner Wretched

Outstanding work, TOW! I love the shots each week of the progress on the diorama.

The Other Whitey

Thanks! Mostly working on the PB4Y for my wife’s godfather this week while I wait for a couple final Red Dawn components to ship in. I’m definitely never doing a conversion like this one again, as the surgery required to stick a Navy Erco ball turret into a B-24D nose is a bitch and a half. Never mind actually assembling and painting that goddamn turret out of resin pieces.

5th/77th FA

Tanks for the update TOW, coming right along and looking good. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it looks like the mags on that AK are taped for a quick change. The fire pit is a nice touch, hope the troops were roasting some type of beast and not warming up ham and muthers. The Flag on the antenna came out good too. We appreciate your hard work and the sharing of this project.

The Other Whitey

The AK came from a figure set for Red Army paratroopers in Afghanistan, along with the Russian prisoner. It was molded with the taped mags and tourniquet wrapped around the stock, so I painted it accordingly. The flag is a sheet of aluminum foil sandwiched between two decals. First time I’ve done that, but I don’t think it came out too bad. I was going for a gentle breeze. I figure the fire was primarily for warming and coffee, since dinner was donated by the pizza place of a nearby town supporting the troops, and breakfast is MREs.

5th/77th FA

OK, I was scratching my watch and winding my azz, thinking, is that a pizza box? I lose a lot of resolution when I try to blow it up too much. I hope to Gawd they phuque up the pizza by putting pineapple and other non real pizza topping on it. 😀 😎

Prior Service

Nice work; I’m jealous. I haven’t worked on a model in years. As a tanker, though, I’ve got to say that tank is cleaner than anything I ever saw even straight off the washrack. You’ve got to start laying the mud, dust and rust on the tracks (and just about everywhere else, too)!

The Other Whitey

There’s a bunch of dirt/dust pigment on the tracks and suspension, so I tried. Unfortunately, I’m still learning how to do mud, caked dirt, and especially dust, so I decided it was better to have it look too clean than risk doing dirt that doesn’t look like dirt. I did give it some nicks and scratches here and there, but those don’t really show up in the photos. All things considered, my ambitions for the project far exceeded my skills. Hopefully future attempts look more used.

Prior Service

You can’t be subtle.
I tried to upload some pics of my tanks in the field, but no go. On models, I used to use a product called celluclay, which was like a shredded paper product that mixed with water and made great mud that you could spread pretty thin. Once dry, I would paint it an appropriate mud color and blend with a dry-brush technique to transition from caked mud to smooth surfaces.

Prior Service

But your base model’s camouflage looks great.

The Other Whitey

Thanks, PS! I’m currently looking at some ready-made stuff that AK Interactive makes. Once it ships, I’ll see about dirtying up the tank some more. The M60 just looks like a tank is supposed to look (no offense to the Abrams), I’d like to do it justice.

Skyjumper

Your attention to detail is awesome, TOW.

You must have one steady hand.

Amen, CHINA SUCKS!!!

Combat Historian

My sister is a missionary in Taiwan, also known as Free China. The Chinese on Taiwan are good hardworking people reveling in their freedoms, and are some of America’s greatest friends and allies. They have faced down their vicious Chi-Com enemy for almost a hundred years now. We betrayed them in 1977 when peanuthead established diplomatic relations with the commies and abandoned our Free China friends, and slick Willy further betrayed them by giving Most Favored Nation trading status to the chicoms in 1996. Now is the time to know who our real friends are. Boycott all chicom products and buy products made by our allies from Taiwan, RoK, Singapore, and elsewhere. The chicoms needs to be made a pariah state, like the Norks…

HI fucksticks.
Me Three.
I can deal with this but fucking fucking fuck, I’m almost 11 or 12 weeks into this fucking shingles shit in both of my legs and IT’S REALLY PISSING ME OFF!!!
One or two days into the teleworking shit last week and the day before a visit with a neurologist, they postponed my dr appt indefinitely.

FUCK!! So now I can’t get any relief or at least any more info on what the fuck is causing this, except it may just be a stubborn as fuck case.
Hell, I don’t know but my Dr (nurse practitioner) and the staff Doc were waiting to give me sleeping meds or anything else until I saw the neurologist.
SO I sleep like shit and I can’t take any pain meds but motrain not like I expect them to give me anything cool when I’M IN REHAB!!! but at least anything helpful.

Well, anyway, I”m here in usual form, moany and bitchy and pissy and all that and NOT first, because I said I was giving that a break and well, I still have about 100 Gabapentin to take so I have that going for me, which is nice.

HAVE AT IT, you paddling douche canoes.

I have some back posts of TAH to catch up on so I’ll be here.

My case of the shingles lasted about a month. Having this shit for 187 days must really really suck. I really feel for you, buddy…

That really sucks, Chip, though you obviously don’t need me to tell you that. I hope you get better soon.

Effing Chinese COMMUNISTS (yeah larsi boi I said it) effing need to pay the entire bill for this sh^t, including the hit the market took. Can you imagine the amount of wealth transfer that took place? I only have about 30% of my 401K in stocks, but still, a 40% loss that I can’t make back up thru working. Too bad the Trumpster can’t do a Jack Ryan ala Executive Orders, tell the Treasury Dprt to reset the stock market to the numbers that were on the board when the FIRST drop happened. And now, the demonrats have padded the giveaway money with another 1 trillion USD that we can ill afford. My opinion, tell the Chinese COMMUNISTS (did it again) we’re taking the cost off of what we owe them on T Bills.

Chipster hang tough Buddy. I know some folks that got them shingles. When my doctor asked me several years ago if I wanted the shot, he said better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. Shore glad I let him stick me. I bitched about the $125.00 bill when I got it, but I ain’t bitching now. The fight for FIRST was tough even with you supposedly laying out. 2 down, 3 to go.

ChipNASA

Get those 2 and then the 3rd for the record.
I’m rooting for you 🖕🏻😂🥰🤗

NHSparky

Yeah, as long as we’re gonna be a bunch of whining Sallys, I haven’t been able to bend the fingers in my left hand since January. Went to UC on Valentine’s Day. Fingers thereafter soon went numb.

Had appointment with hand orthopedist two weeks ago. Scheduled me for what’s called an EMG. First slot, May 19th. Set up PT. First slot, March 31st.

Got call Wednesday. PT pushed back until at least first week of May. Still can’t pick up anything heavier than one pound or so without electric shock sensations going through my hand and forearm.

But other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how’d you like the play?

Poetrooper

Chip, shingles pain is neuropathic pain. I’ve suffered from peripheral neuropathy for years and my doctors had me taking up to 3000 mg of Gabapentin per day to control it. It worked but it played hell with my balance, so in frustration I tried a mixture of essential oils in a coconut oil base, a formula I found on the Internet, rubbing it on my feet at bedtime and upon getting up.

It works–I’m down to 600mg of GABA per day and the pain is gone for the most part as is my imbalance problem. I get an occasional transient jolt in my toes but the operative term is occasional. Here’s the formula if you want to try it:

NEUROPATHY PAIN
3 drops Geranium Oil
3 drops Lavender Oil
2 drops Bergamot Oil
2 drops Eucalyptus Oil
2 drops Tea Tree Oil

Mix together in a carrier oil-Coconut is Miz Poe’s preference. She also uses only Young Living oils, which are pricey, but they’re damn well worth it for the relief they provide. And, no, she doesn’t sell them.

If you want me to have her mix you up a jar, have Ed send me your mailing address.

ChipNASA

Thanks dude. Again, the shingles is only about 70 or so days, the 187 days is not drinking.
I tell you what, this covid19 virus quarantine shit and shingles had made me think about drinking but it’s only thinking about thinking about drink, not really drinking ,
So, it’s all good.
I’m sure this too shall pass.
I have my family. You all.
Thanks Poe. I’ll check in always and if I need your concoction, I’ll holler.
I’m on 1800 mg of Gabapentin and I’m taking heavy enzymes b vitamins and tumeric,
We’ll see how things go over the next week or so .
I love you all .

CplMajor Mike

Nope, no booze, no nuthin’ to risk keeping me off that plane but no memory of leaving. I am pretty sure it was a Continental Airlines flight to Okinawa and Braniff from there to San Francisco, actually took us in to Travis AFB and we were bussed to SF.

Sapper3307

Does everybody have enough ammo and TP?

26Limabeans

I got toilet paper up the ass.
Enough ammo to alamo the entire county.
Bourbon…
I’m gonna be fine

Commissar Pooper's Narcissism

My niece sent me to get toilet paper. I forgot to get the toilet paper instead. My niece left to get toilet paper and left her dog in charge of me. After she left, I ran around the home butt naked. I felt free. I swung my arms around as I ran. The dog kept barking at me because it wanted me to stop. But he left the room when I felt a shifart brewing. I kept running and waving my arms around. Then I let her rip.

I released something more powerful than a shifart. It was a shifnukedet. When my niece, her husband, and kids returned, the aroma kicked like Bruce Lee. Everybody got mad at me. Every time I tried to tell them that the dog did it, the dog barked so loud that the bark went through me and bounced on the walls. I also had evidence on me. Now there was the shifnukedet aftermath to deal with, but my niece did not have any toilet papery. The shelves were all empty by the time she got there. Now I am quarantined in the basement.

David

Hint – those giant rolls of TP for industrial dispensers. Just sayin’.

There is NEVER enough ammo, Sapper3307. N.E.V.E.R.

When you think you have enough, you need twice as much at a minimum.

Believe it or not, I’ve still got some of the TP from the old MREs, so I think we’re good at the GB Compound.

Jeff LPH 3, 63-66

Graybeard;
I had an A & B case of MRE’S for hurricane season with a 2020 inspection date so I gave a few to one of my friends and finished the rest. Threw away the TP but saved the match books, chewing gum etc. Got tired of going to Publix and BJ’S where there wasn’t any TP so a couple of days ago, I went on amazon and ordered 4 24 roll packs. That’s 2 packs for my sister whom suffers from Crohns and 2 packs for myself which will take at least a year or longer to use up. Comes from a company that sells supplies to commercial businesses. So now me ans Sis will be on a roll with the 96 inbound rolls coming in next week.

NHSparky

Most of the stores where I’m working have SOME.

Walmart here has a one package limit with employees at either end of aisle enforcing limit.

Good on them.

Poetrooper

Miz Poe got her one package limit today, the last one on the shelf. On her way to the check stand a little old woman coming in the store saw her and said, “OH good–they have toilet paper!” and my wife had to tell her there wasn’t anymore.

Looking like she was about to cry, the woman said, “Oh no, we’re down to two rolls!” Since we still have several rolls more than that, that sweet, lovely, West Texas beauty I married a half century ago gave her our package.

I’m so proud of her–think maybe I’ll keep her…

Graybeard

Texas women are the best. Miz Poe sounds like a keeper.

Mrs. GB is from South Texas – just off the King Ranch – but she’d do the same thing.

Sapper3307

ArmyATC

That’s kinda like the answer to the question, “How many guns do you need?” Just one more.

The Stranger

Q: How many guns do you need?
A: Yes.

NHSparky

TP, fine. NEVER enough ammo.

The few stores by Casa de Sparky Western Annex have nearly obsolete calibers only (including yes, .222 Winchester) and all prices well over $1 per pew.

The Stranger

Wait…did you say .222? Didn’t a certain disbarred lawer/incompetent light sport pilot claim someone did a drive-by on his house with an assault rifle firing.222?🤣

NHSparky

Yes, but he was too stupid to know it existed. Or that there actually exists a .219, .220 and IIRC, even a .221.

But none of the rifles that use them have been made for about 70 years.

Nor would he know the reason why.

Fyrfighter

Best I can find, the .219 zipper was invented in 1932, and the .221 fireball in 1963. A number of .220’s, the Swift being the most famous IIRC, for being the first cartridge to break 4000 FPS

Huey Jock

I can improvise on the TP.

At least Phildo is consistent.

Another example of The False Commander “Phony” Phil Monress (CEO of All-Points Logistics) ripping off people associated with his fraudulently obtained taxpayer-funded contacts.

If I had to cut through the bullshit on this one, I suspect that Phildo had another type of oral agreement in mind and when Killough found out, he got the fuck out dodge and STAT!

When this happened, Phildo probably thought he could keep the money. Much like he did with Paul-mer (of the Ballsack).

Yet another day comes and goes and Phildo is still ripping taxpayers and his employees off, Maybe they should ask him about his false Native American, Navy SEAL and Law Enforcement claims? To bad the government does not. Wonder if the judge knows?

Wow GT! Phildo the Dildo has some serious issues with his hair plugs. Nothing says “old queen still trying to pick up street teenage fags” like bad hair plugs. Might as well have a sign reading “I olny look old but my tongue still goes deep in two holes while I cup balls”

Every dem mayor is gonna be lining up to get Federal Taxpayer money from this 2 trillion USD boondoggle. And yeah, after paying a bloody fortune this past year in fed taxes, Ms Thang called me earlier and said my return is ready, $507.00 more to the feds, 600 & change to the state, and $200 for the prep. And nah, I prolly won’t get a check, but I will be paying for someone else’s. Y’all get any of it, spend it on good whiskey and smooth cigars.

NOLA has been a cesspool of corruption for centuries. This latest skrunt doesn’t surprise me. Was there when Nagin was lining his pockets, we had a big crowd of telephone techs there after Katrina. Sent more when Harvey/Irene came roaring in. The latest her dishonor the mayor coulda bought a lot of supplies for the Chinese Communist Government (HT to the seagull) created viral disease with the 2.1 million USD she spent moving those offensive /s/ statues.

I already checked 2018 and 2019 returns.

No “free money” for me or Mrs. Sparky.

But we both still have our jobs and our health, for now.

Green Thumb

Just claim your a Native American (1/2000th will suffice), Navy SEAL and a Law Enforcement Officer and wrangle a couple of taxpayer-funded bullshit contracts for cleaning toilets or something. Who knows? Be creative.

Take that route and you will be rolling in all of the “free money” you can handle.

If you have any questions, call The False Commander “Phony” Phil Monkress (CEO of All-Points Logistics) and he will show you the path to fraudulently obtained riches!

Sparks

Stop, just stop…you had me at…”LaToya Cantrell”. She is just the latest in a long line of worthless, “get rich in office or die trying” Democrat mayors of New Orleans going back to…1872!

Remember Ray Nagin Jr.? The dip shit from “Chocolate City” (his words not mine) who got ten years for making money in office, which was not on his W-2. He did a bang-up job during Katrina and he was so fucking good, he did it while even out of the city.

So, of course, Latoya Jackson, -er I mean Cantrell doesn’t have the strength of character or leadership to keep the city safe during this epidemic. I’m sure she would have let the festivities just roll on. Then, after myriad infections, she would have blamed Trump for NOT stepping in to stop it and not having Covid-19 test kit stations up and down Bourbon Street for the drunks.

Some folks, you’re just never going to do right by, no matter how hard you try to save their bacon.

I never made it to Kamogawa; however, I was in Japan about 40 years ago so things may have changed. There is a children’s zoo about 2 minutes outside the gate of Yokota AB. It was among a number of zoos and parks in the Tokyo area. The thing I remember most about the zoo was my daughter seemed to want to live there.

Where did he get his combat jump? Combat in RVN, third tour was with SOG… maybe with SOG?

Does anybody know for sure?

rgr769

According to Maj. John Plaster’s books chronicling the history of MACV/SOG, there were a number of recon team insertions by HALO jumps. Those would certainly qualify as combat jumps. Adkins is not mentioned in the index of Plaster’s book, like many others. My former brigade and battalion commanders in Germany were instrumental in carrying out HALO missions in 1970 and 1971 in the RVN. The Colonel commanded SOG and the LTC was the ops officer.

rgr769

I must amend this reply. Plaster says none of these HALO jumps at night into bad guy territory resulted in award of the vaunted mustard stain. The jumpers were only given a certificate. So, the only official combat jump in the war was that 173rd “combat” jump on a fully secured DZ.

Green Thumb

That does leave a few questions.

Could it have been awarded retroactive?

rgr769

I don’t know, but Plaster’s book was copyrighted in 1997. Also, all the Halo combat jumpers in 1970 and 1971 were identified by name; Adkins wasn’t one of them. Adkins is also not in the book’s index.

Green Thumb

Wow.

This is an odd one.

rgr769

According to globalsecurity.org, units from the 5th SFG(A) conducted three static line combat jumps in 1967. In addition, there was at least one static line jump into North Vietnam by MACV/SOG that may have included US personnel. Since there is no indication Adkins went to HALO training and he only wears Master Blaster wings, I doubt he would have made any HALO jumps. Although, SOG made several indigenous personnel HALO jump with recon teams without formal training other than for the mission at hand. I should also add, that the fact that Adkins was not listed in the index or identified in the book does not mean he did not serve with SOG. I had two officers join my Ranger company who came from SOG’s CCN in DaNang. They are also not mentioned in Plaster’s book, but then neither of them were One Zeroes, Recon Team leaders.

Sparks

I hope he recovers well.

Yeah, I don’t believe China’s numbers either.

I followed the site you linked above fairly closely (as in damn near daily) prior to my recent trip. John Hopkins has done a great job with that dashboard.

On 13 March, China was showing roughly 82,000 cumulative confirmed cases of Covid-19. That’s about the same number of cumulative cases as they show today.

In other words, that means China has had essentially zero new Covid-19 cases in the last 12 days. This is a purportedly highly communicable disease, and China has a population of 2.1 billion living in much closer proximity to one another than is typical in the USA.

That simply is not credible. I’m guessing China simply is not making public new data regarding Covid-19 cases.

There’s precedent for such non-reporting of Covid-19 data. Prior to my trip, Germany was reporting very few cases and zero deaths – while both France and Italy were reporting both. That changed dramatically while I was traveling; today Germany is reporting far more cases, some recoveries, and a fair number of deaths.

However, here’s some data to put things in perspective. During the 2019-2020 flu season, there have been between 38 and 54 million cases of the flu – with between 400k and 730k hospitalizations and somewhere between 24k and 62k deaths attributable to the flu.

I’m so glad the President reached out and put the bitch slap on General Motors.

This is not the same General Motors that stepped up big time in WWII.

With all that’s going on and they’re looking for more profits, at taxpayer expense of course.

No one asked them to produce the ventilators for free, just get them started and keep the production up.

A not inside read “Found that fucing rattle didn’t you?” The dealer let him pick another Monte Carlo with similat features.

Interesting times indeed. Being among all you other “adapt and overcome” types, finding all sorts of little projects that during normal times never seem to get done. While amusing (or is it boring?), there are enough rewards to make it worthwhile. Like finding important stuff that went into hiding some time back.

May all you Vietnam Vets enjoy this “Vietnam War Veterans Day.” My VFW Post had planned a quiet time of remembrance at 2pm today. Instead of coming together at the post, we are each taking the time to remember at that time knowing that others will be doing the same.

All are welcome to take the time at 2pm local to remember those with whom we served who were in Vietnam, those who did not make it home, and those who played an important part (some still doing so) in our own lives.

For those who were there, the rest of us offer up a huge Thank You.
