Groundhog Day: Punxsutawney Phil doesn’t see his shadow, predicts an early spring

As light snow fell early Sunday in western Pennsylvania, the Keystone State’s most famous groundhog revealed that warmer days are apparently ahead.

At sunrise on Groundhog Day, members of Punxsutawney Phil’s top hat-wearing inner circle revealed the groundhog declared: “Spring will be early, it’s a certainty.”

It’s not very often that Phil predicts an early spring, but the groundhog, my friends, predicted an early spring,” Fox News Senior Meteorologist Janice Dean said Sunday on “Fox & Friends” while in Miami for Super Bowl LIV.

Read the rest, oh who really cares, because Bill Murray!

Happy Ground Hog Day, y’all! Hat tip to my pal James for the video.

I watched the Phil farce on one of the talking head news shows this morning, it was local broadcast, they were showing the clip from whomever. Anyways, it looked to me like the suits in the Top Hats were trying to force Phil into making a decision and were colluding with one another to make an early spring announcement.

Our resident Rodent Weather Prognosticator, General Beauregard Lee, was forced from his long time digs at Stone Mountain by political correctness. He now resides at a Rescue Shelter called Dauset Trails in Jackson, Georgia. Gnrl B. Lee’s struggle to return to his climate controlled burrow indicated 6 more weeks of cold weather. Either way, Mama would have that a$$ tore up if she caught you running barefoot before Easter. Spring ain’t gonna be sprung until March. Deal with it. Lows have been in the 30s this past week. High for tomorrow is 69.

Stone Mountain Park, which by deed was given to the People of the State of Georgia to be used as a Memorial to the Confederate Soldier, has been turned into a politically correct cash cow Tourist Trap for a politically connected Amusement Company. Coca Cola Corp (the formula for which was patented by a Confederate Veteran) offered to pay for blowing the carvings off the side of the mountain and/or covering it with a giant canvas. It literally took an Act of the State Legislature to continue Confederate Memorial Service that had been going on since 1866.

Dauset Trails is a very family friendly, no kill, animal rescue, petting zoo, and beautiful Nature Trail Center that is well worth a visit.

AW1Ed,
Troubleshooting prevents deaths.
Tried to watch the pre-game with the old man.
Nope. Enough. 15 seconds was too much.
“We are all soooo special.”
No, you ain’t that special, and Monday morning is comin’ in like hurricane rain.

Peace to all.

Yeah, the original Robin Hood with Errol Flynn is on TCM. much better than the National Felons League… though Mahommes seems a decent dude, and the Chiefs winning will send the SJZ’s into a tizzy (cultural appropriation and all), so I do hope they win, even though I won’t watch…

Well being a carpetbagger myself, and the son of carpetbaggers. I’m familiar with both Phil and the General. I particularly like the address associated with Dauset Trails – 101 Whistle Pig Way, Jackson, GA 30233 As a Whistle Pig is another name for a Woodchuck/Groundhog.

Early spring, my left testicle.
We’ve had a very mild winter, no deep heavy snows like last year……so far.
This next week should be interesting. Today was high of 50, this evening about 25. The warm before the storm.
Starting Monday, all week will be snow & high of 28.
So we’re taking a big drop in temps this next week, with hopefully an equally big gain in snow pack in the mountains.
(we need the water for summer)

Mitch didn’t see his shadow, so early acquittal.

Nancy saw her shadow, so four more years.

Enjoy palindrome day y’all. This week should prove interesting.

Oh-dark-too-damned-early Monday morning. Looked out my window, at least 4-6″. Gonna be an adventure getting to work today.
