Delaware Senator Refuses to Apologize for Saying Gun Control Could Cause Another Holocaust

| January 31, 2020

The slogan Arbeit Macht Frei was placed at the entrances to a number of Nazi concentration camps. The slogan’s use was implemented by SS officer Theodor Eicke at Dachau concentration camp and then copied by Rudolf Höss at Auschwitz

AW1 Rod sends us an article today how a Delaware State Senator dared to speak the truth, stating government violating citizens inalienable rights leads to tyranny and worse. His leftist State House peers were of course horrified at such speech, and claimed he was using genocide as an example to further Second Amendment Rights.

Like dancing in the blood of the innocents? A tactic well known and used by Progressive Gun Controllers.

Except the Senator was referring to Nazi Germany and the Holocaust.

Widespread civil disarmament is a recipe for unbridled tyranny. A Delaware senator made this observation publicly this week and is now taking flak from his progressive peers in the General Assembly.

“For we in this chamber to think that it (the Holocaust) can’t happen here? That is absolutely a fool’s errand,” said state Sen. Dave Lawson (R-Kent County) on Monday, while speaking on the Senate floor.

“We can when we continue to take away the rights, we continue to work on disarming our population, our legally owned firearms, taking away and continue to encroach on that. … We continue this path that we’re taking, please don’t forget that everything that Hitler did was legal. Murdering those people was legal. Disarming those people was legal. Do we want to follow that same path? Because I’m telling you, from where I sit, it’s not that far away.”

Sen. Lawson made his comments while the chamber was voting on a bill to have Delaware officially recognize International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Jan. 27th — a bill Lawson supported.

During the proceedings, 89-year-old Holocaust survivor Ann Jaffe shared her story. One of Lawson’s critics claim that he unfairly politicized Jaffe’s experience and that he should apologize for doing so.

“Sen. Lawson took that horrifying recounting of surviving a genocide, and while Ms. Jaffe was still in the chamber, tried to turn her somber story into a Second Amendment argument,” said state Rep. Debra Heffernan (D-Bellefonte). “Sen. Lawson owes Ms. Jaffe an apology.”

Lawson, a former cop, responded Tuesday, arguing that his comments about the government infringing on individual rights actually resonated with Ms. Jaffe.

“Mrs. Jaffe understood exactly what I was saying,” Lawson told Delaware Online. “And she sat there and nodded the whole time I was talking. And I walked over and talked to her afterwards. … I don’t owe her an apology or anyone else in the Holocaust. That’s bizarre. That’s a twist, an absolute twist by the Democrat machine. I don’t owe anyone an apology. This is a country that supports free speech … I have a right to say those things.”

It’s refreshing to see someone that gets it – but we all know that they are going to throw him under the bus and deny that what he’s said is the exact truth needing to be said. Thank you Sen. Lawson!

BZ Senator Lawson. Without the 2A all of the rest of our Rights would disappear…rapidly.

They would not be trying to take away the citizen’s weapons if they did not think they were planning to do something that would cause us to want to shoot them.

Some of Bernie’s Bros who are Antifa and their ilk who are working on Bernie’s campaign have already said that once they get political power, they want to disarm us and put us in their re-education camps (code for death camps ala Auschwitz). Those same Bernie-bois are also saying they will riot in Milwaukee if he doesn’t get the nomination. It’s going to be an “interesting” summer.

The leftards accuse us of being Nazis while they act just like them, a classic example of Projection!

Ex-PH2

This isn’t going away, no matter how much the Leftirds want it to disappear.

Just recall Bill Ayers thought it necessary to kill 25 million people to achieve “social justice” here (and Bernie’s commie followers think similarly).

Stating historical facts, and making projections of what will happen if we make the same mistake = hate speech, horrific speech, fake news, misleading information, etc. in the eyes of our low information opposition.

Well said.

Kinda like how the people who act like fascist thugs insist that they “anti-fascist.”

When you have no basis upon which to argue the point, argue the messenger instead.

A fairly common occurrence not unique to legislative bodies these days, social media is replete with examples of people who hear something they don’t like attempting to analyze or attack the messenger instead of the message.

You can see it on display on both sides of the aisle every day, people being called Trumpies or Trumptards or libtard or some other attempt at derision in an effort to disarm the messenger and thus pretend to disarm the comment.

Good on the Senator for pointing out he has no need to apologize, if his words bother you…well fuck you perhaps you’re not really prepared for life in a society where dissent is as common as sunshine and rain.

“if his words bother you… … perhaps you’re not really prepared for life in a society where dissent is as common as sunshine and rain.”

Great words, VoV. Should be a response to anyone calling for suppression of speech. Maybe followed by “You are more suited to a life where you are lead about by a nose ring, sort of like a yoked ox.” If appropriate, “Oh, look, you already have the nose ring!”

The Other Whitey

They really don’t like it when somebody speaks the truth.

Those who seek to be tyrants are always looking to put a chainsaw through the Tree of Liberty. The 2nd Amendment exists so that we can instead water it when they try.

I heard a great quote from Dave Chapelle recently: “The 1st Amendment is first for a reason. The 2nd is there in case the 1st doesn’t work out.”

Slow Joe

Without the 2A there would be no America today.

By now it would be a corrupt and dictatorial banana republic or a socialist hellhole, with no individual freedoms and a lot of “collective rights”.

Much like [formerly] Great Britain is today.

There has been awakening.

It remains to be seen if that vital spark will flare up into a bonfire of Liberty, or be snuffed out and the UK descend into the Abyss of collectivism or other thuggery.

Read this some place, its a little militant but fitting:
Tyrants, you may have my gun… but you are going to take the bullets first.

You’d figure with all that fancy booklearnin’ stuff them poli-ticking sumbitches would have some reverence for history. -spits tobacco- Jussahthought.

They want my rifle? The Drill Sergeant taught me how to deliver it.

“Buttstroke to the head, MOVE!”

Fear the Gov’t that fears guns, and before a standing Army can rule, the people must be disarmed.

A Proud Infidel®™️

Just look at how they treat us now, and imagine what they’d do if we were disarmed!

Leftists idea of “gun safety” is that the people they attack don’t have any.

A Proud Infidel®™️

Yep, just look at how NOBODY at the Virginia rally got messed with by Antifa snowflakes!
