Officials: On Iran, Commander in Chief Trump Showed Restraint…

| January 26, 2020

New York Senator Schumer

The distant popping sound you are hearing are Progtard heads exploding. How dare any fly in the face of what they feel to be the absolute truth- Trump is an evil bumbling criminal idiot who surrounds himself with sycophants and yes men, and is incapable deciding which shoes to wear. Much less command the Ship of State.

I’m sure these traits are common among New York real estate billionaires.

Yet present and past and advisers have a different opinion.

…Deliberateness, and Ability to Make Tough Decisions

By KRISTINA WONG

In the days after President Trump authorized the killing of Iranian Quds Force leader Qasem Soleimani, mainstream media reports and pundits painted a picture of an erratic commander in chief — one who had made a hasty, ill-thought out decision that would prompt a new war.

Yet, current and former administration officials and analysts say his handling of Iran showed restraint, deliberateness, and the ability to make tough decisions.

Before using force, “he always does the same thing,” said one senior administration official in a phone interview on background with Breitbart News earlier this month.

“He consults with his cabinet, asks for the intelligence, and takes the opinion of his leadership…and so I think he takes a very calculated and measured response over time,” the official said.

“He is very methodical about it and very calm in these meetings, and asks lots of questions and lots of updates before he jumps to any conclusions. So it’s a very detailed and thought out process,” the official added.

Critics decried the lack of a decision-making process, but Army Gen. (Ret.) Jack Keane, former vice chief of staff of the Army, who has informally advised the president, confirmed there is a process to present Trump with options and the risks and ladder of escalation associated with each one.

“The national security team goes through this in some level of detail,” he said. “When it comes to decisions that involve potential loss of American lives or even our adversaries lives, the President from everything I know is very involved in the process.”

Air Force Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Robert S. Spalding III, former senior director for Strategic Planning at the NSC under the Trump administration, said “[Trump] especially likes differing points of view. He wants people to debate, and he wants to see the debate, which I think is important.”

What’s this? Measured, deliberate, informed decisions made over time using the best minds at his disposal, seeking the best possible outcome for America, especially when they disagree? This is no boorish frat boy born with a silver spoon and an attitude *cough JEF.*

The adults are in charge. This is leadership. Read the rest here: Breitbart

Don’t worry, seagull will be here soon to tell us how all the generals are wrong…

OldManchu

As soon as he gets all his google cut and paste comments ready, he will dump his stinky load of shit down from the sky.

Tooks the words right off my keyboard. Fyrfighter. You had to be hitting the post button as I was keyboarding.

I’m sure that he CAN’T WAIT to come here and whip his Empirical Evidence out for all to see!

rgr769

Have you taken some of your many tomes of empiric evidence to Shiffhole and company to conclusively prove Orange Bad?

Commie-Tsar

YES I DID!!! My empiric data and my talisman (the FLACCID MICROPENIS OF HATE) continue to tell me the following:

ORANGE. MAN. BAD.
ORANGE. MAN. BAD.

11B-Mailclerk

Just saw this.

If you’re going to come in here and step up to the lectern and attempt to hold school, the least that you could do is to try to get the names right.

He been done barred, alright…..

“The adults are in charge.” (fingers in ears) lalalalalalalalalala “This is leadership” (fingers in ears) lalalalalalalalala ORANGE. MAN. BAD! lalalalalalalalalalalalala Safe space..STAT!

Wondered what them ka-booms I heard earlier were. Our resident socialist intel weenie will show up with his empirical data spreadsheet to prove this wrong in 5.4.3.2..

“Orange man how do you sleep at night?” “Nekkid…with a trophy wife supermodel that loves this Country as much as I do.”

11B-Mailclerk

They do not hate him for his politics.

They hate him for -winning- at politics.

If this pro-America Pro-American -winning- catches on with other Republicans, the proggies are -doomed-

Amen to that, I admit that I was originally skeptical when he first announced his Candidacy, but IMHO President Trump has been a hybrid cross between Teddy Roosevelt and Dale Carnegie, the latter being the donation of his POTUS salary to worthy causes. I think that the inner DC Establishment is angry and upset about President Trump because he has done more for our Country in his first few years of Office than the DC lifers have in decades!

Poetrooper

They’re angry because he doesn’t give a rat’s ass what they think or say about him.

Irrelevance is a very bitter pill for politicians and bureaucrats. It’s damned near toxic to the inflated egos of the liberal media who had become so accustomed to presidents who feared their criticism.

A Proud Infidel®™

He’s not under their control at all, and I’m sure that drives them batshit crazy!

Cameron Kingsley

I would say he most likely has set a precedent to follow and I bet that really scares the Left. More people are willing to rise up and fight back.

ArmyATC

Remember when you had a point besides the one on your head? Neither do I.

BruteLarson407

He’s been one of the best surprises of my life.

Mason

Amen. Was a vote of the lesser of two evils at the time, but I can’t wait to vote for him again. I might even do a Democrat and vote two or three times for him!

BruteLarson

That’s how it was for me too.

11B-Mailclerk

If Trump is just an act, give him an Oscar and make the sequel.

SFC D

I must’ve missed that “oil stealing” thing, can you enlighten me?

Fjardeson

Boom!

*POW!* right in the kisser, you denied his attempt to wallow in attention yet again!

Penguinman000

Hitting Iran back publicly has been over due for decades. I have a few issues with the current POTUS (someone take his Twitter account please) but him removing one of the most vile pieces of filth humanity has seen in recent years from the gene pool isn’t one of them.

Iran realizing they can’t operate with impunity AND that none of their leadership is beyond our reach is one of the most important pieces of statecraft in recent history. Provided he gets re-elected, it will do wonders to calm down that region in the near future.

A Proud Infidel®™️

IMHO the only way to get ME tinpot dictatorships to cooperate is via show of force like when Ronald Reagan sent Bombers to hit Libya and that made Quaddafi calm down and shut up!

Penguinman000

While I agree old school gun boat diplomacy is the only practical way to navigate that part of the world I disagree about Reagan. I know this is probably heresy in these parts but here I go….

When we bailed after the barracks bombing he signaled to shitheads world wide we don’t have the stomach for a fight. Hezbolah and Iran were paying attention.

I suspect if we had acted with more deliberation after the attack the current ME mess we face would look a whole lot different.

Fyrfighter

hat, along with his “compromise with the left on gun control (1984), and immigration are the three failures of his presidency, IMHO..

Hondo

Reagan himself rated his Administration’s inability to reduce growth in Federal spending as his greatest failure. I agree.

David

I will wait with bated breath for the list of administrations with fewer significant failures. They ALL fail.

Fyrfighter

No doubt David. And don’t get me wrong, I believe that President Reagan was probably the best President in my lifetime, and I am a fan, it’s just that unlike idiots on the left, I can admit that my guy isn’t perfect. And I agree on that one as well Hondo, sadly the rest of the swamp didn’t allow him to get that done.

USMCMSgt (Ret)

Agreed.

Middle Eastern despots need to be told more often, “Go outside and practice picking up your teeth. I’ll be out there in a minute.”

False “Red Lines” and appeasement just emboldens them.

Penguinman000

I agree with the MSM no longer being part of the 4the state (now they are simple another corporate PR machine spewing out product to increase their bottom line) and I recognize there is a need for him to get his message out there, this has let loose a genie we won’t know the impact of for several years. Though I suspect we’ll get a strong taste next election cycle.

The solution is creating an environment where media is able to be a responsible 4the estate but damn if I know how to do that.

I just don’t like the idea of a position with that kind of power being able to spew forth any idea unconsidered. Imagine if it were AOC or one of her ilk in the Oval Office….I’ve got to stop before I give myself nightmares.

Poetrooper

“…now they are simply another corporate PR machine spewing out product to increase their bottom line…”

You need to rethink that, Peng. You are badly misreading the reality here. If it were merely about the bottom line, the liberal media and entertainment industry would not be hell-bent on producing a product so morally and politically unpalatable it thoroughly pisses off half their potential customers, therefore kissing off nearly 50% of their potential profits.

No, it is so totally about their devotion to leftist ideology that they are, in fact, quite willing to forego all those additional dollars on the bottom line to advance their leftist political agenda.

That is quite an ideological commitment when you consider how greedy and self-serving executive management throughout that industry generally is.

Ex-PH2

There’s more trouble than just Iran brewing in the Middle East.

Beirut is full of people who are rioting over the failed economy. Money there must be tighter than Scrooge’s fist at Christmas.

I’m following the ‘what’s up in the ME’ stuff because of Beirut and the unrest in Iran. Something is brewing. I do not think it will end well for those in charge.

Fjardeson

A True Blue Adherent, to the Ryan Doctrine. Made my day.

Sorry for forgetting the 407 moderator!

BruteLarson407

No, worse(to you guys). Former Coast Guard hence Brute Larson(fictional pirate from 1930’s Little Rascals film short). I have rarely been such a pain in the ass to someone. I am embarrassed. I will donate in short order.

BruteLarson407

Thank you(for your patience as well)!

Fyrfighter

Hooray for the Puddle Pirates!

BruteLarson407

(Laughing)I know. I was a station EMT; so yeah, I worked on some pretty nasty misadventures and accidents, but I was lucky historically speaking. We were Department of Transportation. For what it’s worth; in no galaxy, in any universe have I ever considered my time in to be in parity with what guys and gals here during the GWOT, or ‘The Viet of Nam’ as some guys here call it did and do. Not the same thing at all. Almost all of my dealings were with U.S. Citizens. That could make the LE part a little more uncomfortable, but they only LOOKED at us like they wanted to kill us.

BruteLarson407

Or The Gulf War, Panama, Somalia, or the UN Peacekeeping missions…etc.(anything where our people got intentionally hurt).

Cameron Kingsley

I see we have a rodent infestation.

rgr769

Yep, he’s baaack.

Cameron Kingsley

Well, well, well, look at what the cat dragged in. Proving my point.

Hondo

Yeah, looks like we need a cleanup on asile “Showed Restraint”.

Cameron Kingsley

No. You worthless worm. It’s your arrogant attitude that everyone can’t stand.

A Proud Infidel®™

He’s like that obnoxious kid who’s too short to go on an Amusement Park ride, but keeps showing up anyway.

Mick

‘wingman’?

‘Wingman’ in what? What type/model/series of aircraft? What squadron? What service?

Wait, I know: playing ‘wingman’ in one of those brightly colored, stubby-winged plastic airplane rides out in front of Walmart that he pays for with the bright shiny quarters that his parents give him.

“Look at me! I’m flying!”

A Proud Infidel®™

He sat in the airplane kiddie ride at the grocery store yet again until he ran out of quarters, had there been a horse ride i9nstead, he’d be calling himself “Cowboy”.

5th/77th FA

I think you nailed it Bro. Might have at least one of our favorite jarheaded aviator types get triggered tho.

Mick

Well played, AW1Ed; well played indeed!

That was pretty damned funny, especially the bit at the end.

Thanks for the laughs. I needed that today.

PERFECT!!!
