Open two pages. One with Google, the other one with Duck Duck Go. Input search words and hit enter. See the difference. (r/The_Donald)

If you’ve used Google to look for links to bolster your argument, you would notice something obvious. The results favor left-leaning websites. Google used to provide reliable results. Not so much now. The “Duck Duck Go” search engine is noticeably becoming better. This is one way to circumvent Google’s “forcing” specific search outcomes on you. Enjoy your weekend.

Ok, so a guy jumps out of a plane and is having trouble opening his chute and on the way down, he sees something moving closer shooting straight up and it turns out to be some guy with most of his clothing burnt off and in shreds so as they pass each other, the chutist yells to the other guy if he knows anything about parachutes and the guys yells no and then asks if the chutist knows anything about boilers.

Third I guess, happy weekend folks!

third again…

David

sorry, Hack…that’s ‘fourth’

Hack Stone

It would have been third, but since he copied his post to paste, he had to edit it to reflect that he was no longer posting first. When Hack Stone runs for Callahan County Sheriff, and he will, he does not want to deal with the shame of falsely claiming First Post on a TAH Weekend Open Thread.

Hack Stone

Hack Stone would like to take this opportunity to claim Third Post for Friday, February 14, 2020.

Hack Stone would also like you to remember all of those serving, that being those dirtbags serving time behind bars because in addition to their false claims of military exploits, they also continually fail to follow the rules of society.

Finally, Hack Stone would like to remind everyone that since this weekend includes a federal holiday, please consult the All Points Logistics website to view the times and locations that Phil Monkress will be working balls.

Hack Stone

Always a Director Of Media Relations for a proud but humble woman owned business that sells software to the federal government, never a Vice President of a proud but humble woman owned business that sells software to the federal government. In all of the years that Hack has been visiting, and may he be so humble as to (see what he did there?) adding to amusement of you lovable miscreants, he has only claimed First Post one time. If it was for the death threats that his posts have generated, he would have given up this site a long time ago.

#BringEalineRicciHome!

“he has only claimed First Post one time.”

Confirmed. Based on entries posted to the Coveted Book of WOT Firsts, the one and only First for Hack Stone occurred on 20 Nov 15 at 12:49 pm.

Hack Stone

At that point, Elaine Ricci was missing for about a year. Stay strong Elaine, we will bring you home to your loved ones.

In order to help raise awareness of missing and exploited Presidents of proud but humble woman owned businesses that sell software to the federal government, a chili cook off will be held this weekend in Elko Nevada, and all participants will be given a clear lucite ribbon to display until Elaine comes home.

Commissioner Wretched

Having enjoyed many a week on the throne of TAH First from the WOT, I step aside most weeks so that others may see the world from that point of view. But I do want to drop in and leave my trivia … so here ’tis! DID YOU KNOW…? Were the producers of a “Batman” movie sued by a city of the same name in Turkey? By Commissioner Wretched The season of love is upon us. Valentine’s Day takes place this week. So if you haven’t already gifted your Significant Other with flowers, candy, jewelry, or all that other neat stuff, you’re running out of time to make it happen. If you don’t know, St. Valentine – the fellow the day is named for – was a 3rd-Century saint of the Roman Catholic Church. His day has been associated with “courtly love” since the Middle Ages. Which, of course, is great news for the candy and flower industries. Of course, there’s a dark side to every holiday, and this one is no exception. Chicago, St. Valentine’s Day, 1929, gangsters … you know. But we won’t think about that. What we will think about is love, and giving, and trivia! So here’s my Valentine’s Day gift to all of you, wrapped up with a little heart! Enjoy! Did you know … … in Oklahoma, it is illegal to carry a fish in a fishbowl while riding on a public bus? (Well, where else are you going to carry it? In your pocket?) … about 12% of people who use online dating services are already married? (And? What’s your point?) … Ian Fleming (1908-1964), creator of superspy James Bond, wrote the Bond novel “Goldfinger” on a gold-plated typewriter? … Adolf Hitler was almost born under a very different name? Hitler (1889-1945) was the son of an Austrian customs official, Alois Hitler (1837-1903). Alois had been born Alois Schicklgruber, because his paternity was never established and he thus bore his mother’s family name. He changed the name to Hitler in 1876, some 13 years before his son Adolf was born, and chose that… Read more »

Marines have to fight off cougars at the Enlisted Club.

Graybeard

They fight them off?

Hack Stone

Hack has a few amusing stories as to cougars trolling the Enlisted Club. In these instances, the bar to be referred to as a “cougar” has been set pretty low. Had one of the Marines in ELMACO go home with an older lady when the entire shop took a road trip to Big Bear. Hack asked the young Corporal if he kept her Depends underwear as a souvenir.

How the hell did you beat out 5th/77th FA?
He musta been staring too long at his 100 + year old blooming pear tree too long.

5th/77th FA

He’s got to be colluding…or something…Can’t be cause the phones lines are flooded from the everyday rain since the FIRST of the year. Literally, every day since 1 Jan 2020. Did quit this morning at oGod30hours and the sun is shining now, but it is coming back NLT Saturday night. 39 degrees last night, 60 right now, 31 tonight and average in the mid 60s next week.

The pear tree? I have a picture taken in 1876 of this old place when it was converted from a basic 2 over 4 farmhouse to a Victorian exterior. That pear tree is in the pic. There is another taken in the 1940s, shows the same tree. You can look at the tree and tells it’s old. Unlike my ex wives, it still blossoms. My pitbull furbaby Macy used to chase the deer and squirrels away from the fallen pears so she could eat the pears. The doc whose family used to own this with all the acreage has diary entries talking about them making pear brandy.

You noticed the FIRST 4 post all hit at the same time, didn’t you?

Latest Red Dawn progress:

The tank finally has a tow cable. Also gave the loader some nomex gloves, did some chips & scratches on the tank, and some groundwork.

UpNorth

What brand are those kits, TOW? Tamiya?

The Other Whitey

The halftrack is Tamiya. The M60 is Italeri (and fuck those Eye-talian bastards for the tracks on the damn thing! ). Figures are Dragon (tank crew & the platoon leader in BDUs), Master Box, Legend Productions, and Zvezda (the captured Russian paratrooper). There’s also various weapons & accessories from other suppliers on EBay.

The Red Dawn Diorama is progressing well!

The Trivia from CW is entertaining as always!

Beautiful attention to detail, TOW.

Gotta ask, when they are completed, do you put them under some kind of covering like Plexiglas or something similar, cuz they have to be a bear to dust without messing with the small parts.

What’s you next project after Red Dawn?

The Other Whitey

Currently also working on a couple of others:

– A 1/48 A-26 Invader postwar airtanker conversion, marked up like the TB-26C that Richard Dreyfus flew in “Always.” Gift for my Dad.
– A 1/48 TBM-3 Avenger of VC-81 on the flight deck of USS Corregidor (CVE-58) for my cousin, depicting her paternal grandpa’s aircraft, complete with the crew climbing into the plane.
– A PB4Y-1 Liberator for my wife’s godfather. His dad was a radioman on a PB4Y-1.

Up next will be:
– A 1/48 F2H Banshee for my niece. It will have markings for the air wing of USS Bonhomme Richard (CVA-31), which never actually flew Banshees, but her dad is a Navy bet who served on USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6).
– A 1/48 F-100D Super Saber in late-50s USAF bare aluminum for my middle daughter.
– A 1:48 B-24D of the 43rd BG, 13th Air Force for my son.
– A 1/48 B-17G of the 381st BG, 8th Air Force for my wife. It will have her name, a SFW pinup image of her on the nose, her initials for the 3-letter ID code, and her birth date for the tail number.
– A 1/35 scene of my Uncle Greg with his war dog in Vietnam. Already did one for my Mom, this one will by for my aunt.

ninja

“A 2/35 scene of my Uncle Greg with his war dog in Vietnam”.

Looking forward in seeing that one, TOW!

Thank You for sharing your Talent!

The Other Whitey

Talent? I wish. But thanks.

TOW:

Yep, TALENT.

And Patience.

Some of us can’t do what you have accomplished.

Please give yourself credit. You deserve it!

And you are so welcome.

😊

The Other Whitey

Patience? Sure. Copious amounts of profanity help with that. *Copious* amounts of profanity.

I already did one little 1/35 scene of my Uncle and his dog for my Mom a year ago. Unfortunately, I had no idea how to paint eyes properly, so it looks sort of okay if you don’t look at the faces. I’ve since learned how to do eyes, though proficiency is still a long way away.

The first one is Uncle Greg and his dog meeting some Vietnamese kids. I’m thinking for the next one I might try to do something like having him and his dog scouting on foot ahead of an Amtrack. Not sure how ambitious I should get with it at this point.

The Other Whitey

As far as dusting, I’ve found the empty airbrush does a pretty decent job.

I can safely say that I now understand wtf is wrong with DC. Talk about the incompetent leading the insufficiently motivated!

Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeebus!

I always thought that other gov agencies must be at least somewhat like the DoD with a work force made up mostly of “mission” focused people–even if they were not the most competent, they were motivated and focused.

But what I have found here in my first month is an agency full of people who just aren’t engaged in any meaningful way…everyone teleworks 8 days in 10, and there is almost zero leadership engagement below the executive level.

Just a workforce penguin walking through life.

One of the sites in Antarctica supposedly had its first recorded day over 68F, which is spectacularly warm for that place. That is a hot summer day, there.

Sea ice extent is dramaticly -up-, way up.

Signals get weird sometimes.

It is worth noting that the overall historical climate trend is a long deep-freeze with extensive icecaps into the middle latitudes, an abrupt warm that melts most of the ice, then ongoing erratic but overall further warming mixed with cold snaps, then a catastrophic and rapid return to ice age.

For millions of years it has been so. We need to enjoy this warm while we can, because the return to ice may take only a generation or two, and then the planet spends another hundred thousand years trying to make us extinct.

And it almost succeeded last time.

We may soon be furiously igniting every surface coal seam trying to warm the planet out of another glaciation, spreading the ash on the poles to decrease albedo and increase insolation and melt.

Such low-end performing actions were seriously discussed back in the 70s, when the impending doom dejure was “cold”.

The things I learn about Valentine’s Day, 14 February:

*Arizona became a U.S. state on February 14, 1912. Arizona was the 48th state admitted to the U.S. and the last of the contiguous states to be admitted.

(Don’t tell that to Michael Bloomberg or Carl Bernstein considering they are celebrating another lap around the Sun today).

* In 2005, YouTube is launched by a group of college students, eventually becoming the largest video sharing website in the world and a main source for viral videos.

* In 2000, the spacecraft NEAR Shoemaker enters orbit around asteroid 433 Eros, the first spacecraft to orbit an asteroid.

* In 1946, the first general-purpose high-speed electronic digital computer, the ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer), was demonstrated to the public by its creators, J. Presper Eckert, Jr., and John W. Mauchly.

* In 1912, the U.S. Navy commissions its first class of diesel-powered submarines.

* In 1899, voting machines were approved by the U.S. Congress for use in federal elections.

* In 1859, Oregon is admitted as the 33rd U.S. state.

GEE WHIZ!

“Sex Offender Fugitive James Meece Lies About Being Vietnam POW”

Story AND a Video covering the story can be found at this link:

https://www.fox2detroit.com/news/sex-offender-fugitive-james-meece-lies-about-being-vietnam-pow

“James Meece tells a sad story to women,” said Deputy U.S. Marshal Justin Efthemiou. “It goes beyond just a standard criminal act.”

“And they believe it – because who would lie about being a Prisoner of War?”

“What kind of monster makes that kind of information up or pulls that out of their hat to gain your confidence? Only a monster,” Efthemiou said.”

“The sad story James Meece, 71, tells is that he’s a military veteran who was deployed overseas and served in Vietnam.”

“While overseas as a special forces operator for the military, he gets captured and becomes a Prisoner of War. So he has suffered this mental anguish through his military career. so he’s distinguished hero,” said Efthemiou.”

“But it’s all a lie.”

“Efthemiou says not only does Meece tell women he was a POW and tortured by the Vietnamese, in reality he was never deployed, never left the United States and never even saw combat.”

“He’s taken his military stories a step further, strategically placing false military documents where these women will find them.”

FOX 2: “Where does he get these documents?”

“He prints them up,” Efthemiou said. “That’s the definition of a psychopath.”

“Efthemiou says the con man would even fake symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.”

“One of the victims recalls him waking up in the middle of the night and what she noticed as martial arts moves,” Efthemiou said. “He was saying things to the effect of get back or I’ll kill you.”

“A New York jury found Avenatti, 48, guilty on three counts, including extortion, wire fraud and transmission of interstate communications with intent to extort. He faces up to 42 years in prison and did not testify in the case against him.”

Stormy who?

rgr769

He will be going to trial soon in NYC for his embezzlement of Stormy’s $300k book advance. Then he will be tried in his home state of Commiefornia for his embezzlements and wire frauds in connection with the over 2.5 million stolen from his clients there. His likelihood of conviction in Federal Court in L.A. is even higher than the NYC cases because of all the financial records that show how he obtained the clients’ settlement moneys and what he did with it.

I can see why they’d be upset. They haven’t done their jobs in years, so when someone actually works in that town it really shocks the conscience.

“Both Sheriff Candidates In Texas County Accused Of Stolen Valor” https://klaq.com/both-sheriff-candidates-in-texas-county-accused-of-stolen-valor/ “Clyde Texas is a small town of fewer than 4,000 people in Callahan County, not far from Abilene. The good people of Callahan County have a real head-scratcher on their hands. They have to vote for a new sheriff…and BOTH candidates have been accused of “misrepresenting their military records” aka: Stolen Valor.” “The 2 candidates are Leroy Foley, a member of the Clyde Police Department and Rick Jowers who is deputy under the current sheriff who is not seeking re-election.” “Ok. Things are about to get wild and maybe a little confusing.” “Candidate Foley was called out by a website called militaryphony.com for implying in his campaign signs that he was a silver star and purple heart recipient.” “Also, the site claims, Foley claimed on social media that he was an Airborne Ranger for 11 years.” “According to Militaryphonies, Foley’s army discharge papers don’t reflect ANY of that.” “More damning, though, is that Foley declined to make public comment and resigned from the police department. After he was put on leave while the department conducted its own investigation.” “Then, Foley’s opponent, Rick Jowers, was called out for saying in a public forum that he, too, was an Airborne Ranger. Jowers has acknowledged making the claim, apologized for making it…BUT said that he only said it as a way of mocking his opponent, Foley.” “Gee…it doesn’t really SEEM like he was mocking his opponent. Maybe Rick Jowers just has an extremely dry sense of humor. That probably explains why he also claimed to have taken a bullet AND been a staff sergeant (both claims that were debunked by militaryphony.com.” “Whooo-boy! I guess it could only look worse if it turned out that Jowers had actually only served a few months before deserting and being given an “other than honorable” discharge from the army. Well, it is worse because that’s exactly what militaryphonys.com claims!” “So…I guess we’re back to Foley being the better candidate? I mean, he might have embellished his record a little but at least he wasn’t a deserter,… Read more »

Oh, Boy.
Or, as Texans like to say, Yee Haw.
I predict there will be a TAH Page 2 on Rick Jowers.

An hour ago, I saw what someone in Callahan County, Texas
is about to email to MP.
I gave emailing advice and directions,
so MP should have these new (old) documents this (Friday) evening.

This isn’t over, by a long sh(cut)… long Airborne Ranger cadence.

I can say no more at this time.
It will be quite a bit for even the MP / TAH staff to absorb.
You won’t be disappointed.

Enjoy the weekend, everyone.

Lookin’ forward to a Texas-sized whuppin’ for these yahoos.

This is most definitely a case of diving into a septic tank to try and find a Tootsie roll.

OWB

For anyone interested, FETV is running a marathon of “Wild, Wild West” to remember Robert Conrad, Sunday 2-8ET. In it’s day it was pretty entertaining. Nothing like today’s whiz bang fantasy stuff, but fun. Who wouldn’t want a dagger one could pull out of one’s collar, for instance?

ninja

Thank You, OWB for that information.

Have always liked “Wild, Wild West”. To me, it was a combination of “The Man From U.N.C.L.E” and “James Bond”. Sometimes “Get Smart” and “Mission Impossible”.

All of them featured interesting gadgets.

Robert Conrad. Rest In Peace. I never did see the show where he played “Pappy B”, but I heard it was good.

David

Also starred James Whitmore Jr. and John LaRoquette. Had one of Mike Posts best themes, too. Was fun, albeit about as accurate as Hogan’s Heroes.

ninja

David, You nailed it!

Thank You!

ninja, Baa Baa Black Sheep is broadcast on the Heroes & Icons Channel, which is usually a subject channel of a local broadcast station, often one of the ones that also broadcast ME TV. Disconnect from your local cable of Direct/Dish TV system, hook up some Rabbit Ears or outdoor antenna and hit the program button. They started with episode one last Saturday night. If you do the streaming thing, you can probably find it that way. Look under H&I. They’re also running Rat Patrol, Combat, Tour of Duty, and Twelve O’Clock High. Keep waiting to see if China Beach with Ms Thang, Dana Delany ever shows up. I “Like” Broadcast TV…It’s free and easy…kinda like me.

ninja

KoB:

Thank You!

I have all the DVDs of “China Beach”. I remembered when I FIRST watched it with some Vietnam Veterans who flew Chinooks in country.

There comment to me was “That’s not what happened! We didn’t do that!”…on and on and on.

That said, I still enjoy the series.

Some of the shows I missed since we were living Overseas and in one area, we did not have AFN on TV, only on Radio with Military DJs.

Combat I definitely enjoyed. We used to play “Combat” on the Military Bases we lived on. Great times.

Now I am interested in watching “Baa-Baa Black Sheep.” Thank You again!

Ju welcome, the least I can do for our favorite ninja; and we do have the best ninjas. And you are right about Hollyweird never getting it right. One of my super powers is POing people when we watch historical motion pictures and I point out what is wrong. Of all the different productions that I worked with the only ones that really cared about the accuracy, surprisingly, was Andrew Zimmern. When one of the directors on another set asked me once, “Who’ll know the difference”, I told him, “People like me; and there is a lot of us.” Used to wonder why they would pay for my advice and not take it. After awhile, I just cashed the checks. My name wasn’t going in the credits.

The Stranger

Which is why I liked the FIRST Jurassic Park movie. The scene where Jeff Goldblum(?) walked someone through how to close the circuit breaker that fed the electric fence is one of the few times the movies get that right. They completely fucked up how to kill power to a building in “The Negotiator” and in “Iron Man.” The equipment that was used for “The Negotiator” was built by my employer at the time and I saw it on our loading dock after the production company returned it so we could put it back into inventory. My wife will tell me when I point out an inaccuracy in either electrical or military stuff, “You know, you’re the ONLY person here who would know that.” (With that tone of voice). To which I immediately reply, “And to think, you’re lucky enough to be sitting next to the guy who does!”😂

Graybeard

I’m old enough to remember the old “Combat!” TV series – supposedly occurred in WWII.

Dad was constantly commenting on the inaccurate parts – not so much griping as letting his sons know what the reality was.

He also verified some of the stuff that seemed over-the-top as being the kind of thing that would happen to some of the boys.

“China Beach”? Dana Delaney?

OOOOOOHHH LALA!!!

OWB

“Black Sheep Squadron” is the name of that series, at least after the first season or two.

5th/77th FA

You correct OWB. Was coming back FIRST thing this morning to add that tidbit when I got distracted by what Senior Chief put up there. We may just have to promote him to Master Chief, you know, for raising the morale of the troops…among “raising” other things.

Thanks Senior!

HMCS(FMF) ret

If Dana was to show up at my door right now, I’d let her whip me, beat me and I’d write bad checks if she told me to… and that’s just to start!

Fyrfighter

I believe it only ran for two seasons. was called Baa Baa Black Sheep the first, and Black Sheep Squadron the second.. One of my favorites when I was growing up..

And yeah, Dana Delany…that was the stuff of high school fantasies!

UPDATE – on LES BROWN & the Elko POW*MIA Awareness Ass. WOW. The Elko POW*MIA annual CHILI FEED is just getting underway at this hour, so I browsed the Elko groups and pages on Facebook. This just showed up. Again, WOW. It’s a Facebook “page”, so anyone on the internet can see it. (paste) Me, too. Not in Battle Mountain, just a bad place. I wish I were visiting VFW Post 2350 today. —-> TO: VFW Post 2350 — An open letter, and 1 question, to the present and past post officers of VFW Post 2350, Elko, Nevada. Good afternoon, I wish to have a conversation, by Facebook PM, email, or telephone, with present and past officers of VFW Post 2350, about the claims of military service by Les Brown, a post member of VFW Post 2350, and a former state committee official of the VFW Department of Nevada. As you may know, Les Brown was publicly exposed July 2019 by Military Phony and Valor Guardians websites, for wearing a CIB (Combat Infantryman’s Badge, listed on the Federal Stolen Valor Act of 2013), E-8 rank, and a combat shoulder patch on his Woodland BDU uniform while participating in parades, and speaking to children at an elementary school. He also wears these, and a Desert Storm Veteran hat patch with Southwest Asia Service, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait ribbons on his black leather vest, as the commander of the Elko POW*MIA Awareness Association. The Valor Guardians website shows that Les Brown spoke of his own combat experience before the Nevada State Assembly, after identifying himself as a state committee official of the VFW Department of Nevada, while giving a speech about Nevada motorcycle helmet laws. After Les Brown’s defiant denial statement to the Elko Daily Free Press last July, Les Brown has gone quiet publicly. However, other officers, members, relatives, and fans of the Elko POW*MIA Awareness Association, continue to assert that Les Brown is a combat veteran of the Gulf War, and that Les Brown has documentation to prove everything he claims. The challenge to finding the truth, for the citizens… Read more »

It’s amazing.
Ken Adams KNOWS to keep his shit straight
with minimal pins and patches, all in order.
Yet he sits still while his wife Laura Adams blowhards the world
with Les Brown’s lies and false defenses.

You’d think the more honest and decent members of the Elko POW*MIA Awareness Ass. would have the bullshit shits of Les by now, if not 5 years ago, and overthrow him once and for all.

2020 CHILI FEED Update – with NEW PHOTO

Les Brown, dressed in blackhawk down black ops,
with 0 military patches, pins, or bling,
presents a check to POW*MIA National in this photo.
2020 check = $11,500… 13% down from last year’s
2019 check = $13,255.

Looks like Les Brown’s phony shitbaggery
had an effect on the chili feed,
and hit them in the pocketbook.
Upside, members and volunteers with slop buckets for leftovers now have free food for 6 weeks.

marinedad61

2017 check = $10,000.

The Elko POW*MIA Awareness Ass.
was increasing it’s donation every year,
until Les Brown became a local and national embarrassment.

If Ken Adams steps up, and takes it over,
Elko will respond positively.

I just used DuckDuckGo to do a search on Michael Avenatti. Great results; it brought up FrankReport on him. It outlines his full saga. Avenatti is subject to a 36 count felony indictment in the U.S. District Court, Central District of California (LA area). He has apparently embezzled over 4.5 million dollars from five different clients, committed tax fraud, federal wire fraud, bank fraud, and numerous other crimes. The sentences for the 36 counts add up to over 300 years in federal prison. If convicted on even half the charges, together with the impending sentence in NYC, it is unlikely CPL will ever leave prison alive.

rgr769

I just read CPL’s 36 count indictment (it is available as an attached exhibit to the California State Bar’s petition to place him on interim suspension). He is so screwed. He actually has embezzled over ten million from his clients and from the taxes withheld from the employees of his law practices and a coffee business. His alleged crimes go all the way back to 2015, and likely earlier. His last alleged offenses were in 2018 and 2019 when he was the darling of CNN and MSNBC.

A Proud Infidel®™️

He was also evicted from his office for nonpayment of rent money, and his jet was seized, a multimillion dollar Bernath!

rgr769

Yes. He paid $2.5 mil for the Honda twin engine jet with stolen client money. It was promptly seized the same day his 36 count indictment was unsealed and his arrest warrant issued. Wonder if they have him in the same cell block where Epstein met his untimely death. Too bad he never got any dirt on powerful D-rats like the Clintons, then he would be maintaining the same altitude as the Bernasty.
