Husband killed, wife arrested after alleged home invasion in Livingston Parish

By Kevin Foster
LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (WAFB) – A husband and wife attempted to force their way into a Livingston Parish home before the husband was shot by a resident in the home, investigators from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, detectives began investigating at the home which is located in the 19,000 stretch of La Hwy 42. Through an investigation, detectives learned Kendal McCarroll, 34, and his wife Angel McCarroll drove a vehicle through the resident’s yard.

“Why? We don’t know at this time. But, we do know that their vehicle got stuck,” said Sheriff Jason Ard.

The McCarrolls failed to dislodge the vehicle, at which point Kendal attempted to force his way through the front door of the home, investigators said.

Kendal retreated after being confronted by the “head of that household.” He later armed himself with a shovel which he used to break the bathroom window from outside the home, investigators said.

The resident then fired a single gunshot which struck Kendal.

Two DRT and one inconvenienced, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. Not too bad.

We’ll take one step at a time, and the first is necessarily – given the political realities – very modest. We’ll have to start working again to strengthen the law, and then again to strengthen the next law and again and again. Our ultimate goal, total control of handguns, is going to take time. The first problem is to slow down production and sales. Next is to get registration. The final problem is to make possession of all handguns and ammunition (with a few exceptions) totally illegal. — Pete Shields, founder of Handgun Control, Inc., New Yorker Magazine, June 26, 1976, pg. 53

And then there’s today’s ultimate feel good story – LSU National Championship. Geaux Tigers!

Pa: So thankful I live in a state where if I kill a dirtbag that is threatening me or mine, the popo thank me for helping clean up the trash.

La: Dumbass shoulda used the shovel to dig his vehicle out of the mud instead of taking it to a gun fight.

Jax: sigh indeed. You could prolly get FGS from there everyday. Most of y’all are too young to remember when it used to be a nice place to visit/live…way back yonder. Wonder what happened? /s/

That thar scary black baby rifle come with a shoulder holster? The socks for my climbing boots are longer than it is. I’ll take mine in a .45 caliber, thank you very much.

Rats of the Cong to the ‘Cats of LSU on their win. Too bad a body can’t watch a game like that on broadcast TV no more. The predictions I made about “pay TV” back in ’84 have really come home to roost. Pay per view Super Bowl ain’t too far off.

They made the decision to conduct a home invasion. First, they crashed onto the yard. Second, the shovel event. The decision to conduct the home invasion was a poor one. However, when they decided to carry this out, they did not do their diligent research.

Already, they are making a series of poor judgment calls. The fact that he would try to use a shovel to break in, rather than to get the car to where it would have more traction, does not surprise me. Just another poor judgment call. The things that people would do in lieu of doing away with a nonproductive/addictive habit.

I’m with you 5th/77th FA. I ditched the $100+ cable bill a long time ago, but came to the realization that I had to at least pay $20 (now $22) per month to get Sling TV so I can watch the monopoly that is Disney (ESPN)! Of course once I did that, my beloved Longhorns strike a deal with the devil to further monetize their games and create their own channel (which is only available with the premium package)! Enough I say!
Yeah, wish I could afford on of them thar Vectors! I like mine in .45 as well. Maybe one of these days when I own my own range, I can buy a lottery ticket or save up to buy one.
What was the idiots in LA thinking, they should have been watching the game not being stupid and trying to get in to someone’s house that told them to go away! They could have been celebrating instead of commiserating (she is…he is just cooling!)
