Iran Launches Missile Attacks Against Iraq Bases

| January 8, 2020

A Missile reportedly launched from Iran towards Ain al-Asad airbase in Iraq. (Sima News)

Iran has retaliated against the U.S. for the killing of General Soleimani. They described it as “hard revenge”, and warned the U.S. not to retaliate for these strikes. If we do, they will take additional measures.

Additionally, they’re calling on us, U.S. citizens, to pressure our government to remove U.S. forces out of that area. The attacks were aimed at coalition bases holding Americans. They notified the Iraqis that they were going to do these attacks and that the Iraqis should take precautions.

From CNN:

In a televised address to the nation Wednesday, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that Iran gave the US “a slap in the face last night,” in reference to the attacks.

He added that America had cast Soleimani as a “terrorist,” which was “unjust and unfair.”

The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, an elite wing of the Iranian military, said in a statement that the attacks on Iraqi bases were “hard revenge” for the death of Soleimani. The IRGC said any country housing US troops could be subject to “hostile and aggressive acts” and called on American citizens to demand the government remove US troops from the region.

It warned the US: “If you repeat your wickedness or take any additional movements or make additional aggression, we will respond with more painful and crushing responses.”

President Trump is awaiting battle damage assessment, then will communicate his assessment of this attack. It would be interesting to see what targets the U.S. will hit next if the damage assessment requires counterretaliation.

Well, I think this is our opportunity to degrade Iran’s missile forces, air defenses and port facilities.

Their navy needs a culling too.

What do you think? Too aggressive? Too disproportionate?

CNN and MSNBC are now official mouth pieces
For Iran no surprise here

Don’t forget ABC.
They put Martha Raddatz in an Iranian head rag
to interview the lying and smiling minister.
How many fell for that bit of business?
Ugh.

Don’t take the word of CNN or any other unreliable media group for any of this. They are in bed with the Iranians, and we all know it.

Just ask yourself why, if these were missiles, we didn’t see any explosions on any ships or bases last night on the airwaves? Shouldn’t that have been the first thing we saw?

timactual

Probably because there were no news cameras on the scene. Media coverage of events in Iraq and Afghanistan is poor at best.

Ex-PH2

No. It’s because there were NONE.

Noticed from the CNN Article the location an # of troops we have scattered all thru the region. I am ashamed that I didn’t know how many of our boys and girls were “in the sh^t(hole)”. 60 some odd thousand. No secret, in my opinion, that the only reason we are in that sh^thole area of the world is to protect the oil supplies of the world. Too bad someone besides the American Taxpayer isn’t paying the bill for it. But I digress.

Bring the dam dam down on these mofos and then GTFO. Didn’t see any of the talking heads on broadcast TV this morning. (I don’t have cable) Did seem to be an increase in the flight activity from Robins and had a message from a friend near Hunter AAF talking about a high level of activity going on there. The ragheads really don’t want a shooting war with us unless they have been assured by the Ruskkies that Putin will back them up. Maybe they are looking at history and think that if we blow hell out of their country, then we will go in and rebuild it. After all, that’s what we do, isn’t it?

China is actually Iran’s largest trading partner, and is running their oil fields. Russia is a player, but no longer THE major one.

Combat Historian

A Ukrainian UIA Airlines 737-800 crashed near Tehran at virtually the exact same time the Iranians fired their missiles into Iraq. 180 souls lost, no survivors.

Now the Iranians are refusing to hand over the black box and other critical flight data to international aviation safety authorities for investigation.

All indicators point to possibility of nervous Iranian Air Defense troops with itchy trigger fingers shooting down a civilian airliner with a SAM…

Skippy

It was accidentally shot down

Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH B Woodman

Small difference or condolence to the dead and their families.

Firebase

All indications so far point to a missile striking the plane. It exploded mid-air, during the ascent, and hit the ground in flames. No communications with the crew indicated any sort of technical glitches beforehand.

No cooperation so far from the Iranians with investigators from the US, the UK, or with Boeing. C’mon, folks, the Iranians themselves accidentally shot it down. Obviously a nervous Iranian with an itchy trigger finger thought it was an American warplane heading towards one of those “52 targets.”

rgr769

The fact the Iranians have already said they won’t release the black boxes is very telling. I doubt they will allow any aviation accident investigators they don’t control to examine the wreckage.

rgr769

Well there is now credible evidence that the Iranians shot down that airliner “by mistake.” Two ruskie SAM’s we’re fired from a base close to the flight path. One of the missiles was found intact in a nearby town. Crash debris photos show shrapnel holes.

rgr769

When I posted this comment several hours ago, I wondered how long it would take for some TDS infected Prog in the D-rat media to say the shoot down was Trump’s fault. Well, it didn’t even take two hours. Cuck extraordinaire, David Frum of the Atlantic, has claimed it’s Orange Man Bad’s fault for killing that ‘slamonazi terrorist leader of Iran.

UpNorth

That’s not all, mayor Peter Buttplug D-Bathhouse said the same thing.

rgr769

Yes, all the Orange Man Bad gang will get on this fake meme. We can expect all the D-rat pols to beat this drum.

There are plenty of outlets saying that, YOU KNOW you’re sorry as hell when even the mainstream DNC Pravda media won’t even cover for you:

Think it’s time for airliners to be fitted with chaff and flare pods for flights in high risk regions.

rgr769

They will have to be fitted with AA radar detectors as well, so the pilots know when to fire the pods.

Don’t forget the IFF transponder.

In the end, I think this will be remembered as Kabuki theater. We killed one of Iran’s “heroes” who stupidly put himself at risk by being in a place that he shouldn’t have been. Iran got to save face by lobbing a few missiles at the Great Satan and making further threats about further retaliation. They also got to photoshop some old photos depicting their glorious attack. I’ve heard that our forces at Taji and Al Assad were tipped off (indirectly, by Iran) and were off site at the time of the attacks. Nobody got killed (from what’s being reported), and the chessboard remains intact.

GDContractor

Look for Trump to leave the chess pieces where they are for the time being, Declaring some sort of victory. The threats Iran made against Dubai et al are surely hollow, given the the Iran mullahs have several hundred billion dollars invested there. I’m not saying that they are rational, but it would be extremely irrational to blow up the safe haven for your investments.

Martinjmpr

Seems like if there had been any US casualties we would know by now since we normally know within hours and it’s been almost a full day.

My guess is that this is a face-saving measure for the Iranians so they can say they ‘did something’ (sort of like Clinton striking unoccupied chemical facilities and terrorist camps in Afghanistan and Somalia following the embassy attacks in 1998.) IOW purely symbolic.

Let me get this strait, Iran calls Iraq and says we’re going to launch some shit to save face. Make sure everyone is dug in.

11B-Mailclerk

I believe the “tip” was a sudden increase in Iranian air-defense activity and “careless chatter” on their Commo.

Either the Mad Mullahs decided on a noisy but survivable “retaliation”, or the folks in ranks decided on survival, telegraphed the punch and ” missed”.

Well. THAT may have been the most significant speech made by a US president in my lifetime, perhaps much longer. And that is comparing it to some pretty significant speeches, such as “Bring down that wall” and “Ich bien Berliner.” *

The following is a transcript of President Trump’s remarks on Iran Wednesday morning: As long as I’m president of the United States, Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. Good morning. I’m pleased to inform you the American people should be extremely grateful and happy. No Americans were harmed in last night’s attack by the Iranian regime. We suffered no casualties. All of our soldiers are safe and only minimal damage was sustained at our military bases. Our great American forces are prepared for anything. Iran appears to be standing down, which is a good thing for all parties concerned and a very good thing for the world. No American or Iraqi lives were lost because of the precautions taken, the dispersal of forces and an early warning system that worked very well. I salute the incredible skill and courage of America’s men and women in uniform. For far too long, all the way back to 1979 to be exact, nations have tolerated Iran’s destructive, destabilizing behavior in the Middle East and beyond. Those days are over. Iran has been the leading sponsor of terrorism and their pursuit of nuclear weapons threatens the civilized world. We will never let that happen. Last week, we took decisive action to stop a ruthless terrorist from threatening American lives. At my direction, the United States military eliminated the world’s top terrorist, Qassem Soleimani. As the head of the Quds force, Soleimani was personally responsible for some of the absolutely worst atrocities. He trained terrorists armies, including Hezbollah, launching terrorist strikes against civilian targets. He fueled bloody civil wars all across the region. He viciously wounded and murdered thousands of U.S. troops, including the planting of roadside bombs that maim and dismember their victims. Soleimani directed the recent attacks on U.S. personnel in Iraq that badly wounded four service members and killed one American. And he orchestrated the violent assault on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad. In recent days, he was planning new attacks on American targets, but we stopped him. Soleimani’s hands were drenched in both American and Iranian blood.… Read more »

IIRC, Iran is a “Twelver” stronghold. Sooner or later, that kind of ideology will step over the line. Then Trump should take that opportunity to reduce every IRGC and Nuke site in Iran into smoking craters. Special attention for the Mullahs and their bully-bois, the Basij

Time to ramp up production of MOPs and MOABs with a view toward accomplishing that.

… and sink every hull they have. I’d leave the refinery complex alone so that the Iranian people themselves have something to work with after all, or nearly all, of the Mullahs, IRGC and Basiji are dead.

If they still want a fight, destroy every dam, bridge, powerplant and refinery.

And screw the Russians and Chinese if they don’t like it.

If Trump applies even more sanctions, Iran is in a world of hurt. They can barely keep the wheels on their economy now.

If Trump hardens secondary sanctions on Iran’s supporters, it is going to go medieval in Iran.

We shall see.

Meanwhile, Hollywierd TARDOs and RETARDOs mourn and apologize for the “loss” of the Iranian Terrorist (*OOPS!*, General) while ignoring the many American lives lost because of him while he begins his time in Hell. Just watched the video of the Human Lawn Dart’s confrontation with the Hair. Bernasty’s shitbaggery lives on in this YouTube video. Thank God, he decided to self-murder himself. Although, I suspect it was more likely incompetent piloting; bet he was using an I-pad to check his airspeed. I am just glad there wasn’t some hapless, duct-taped dog that went down with him.

I’ve seen the videos of The Hair®™ and his Mrs. confronting Lawn Dart Danny as well as that of the fake Admiral getting called out face to face by The Hair®™, he got what was coming to him!
