Shop owner kills two masked men after attempted robbery

by Marie Edinger
The Fresno Police Department is now investigating whether a store owner could face charges for shooting two men who’d just robbed his smoke shop.

Fresno Police say three men came in, threatened the clerk at Smoke N Vape on Blackstone and Cambridge, and took money from the cash register.

As they were running out of the store, the store owner showed up, and he and the men running out got into a gun fight. Two of the robbers were shot, and died at the hospital last night.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has just released that those men were 18-year-old Jesus Gonzalez and 22-year-old Chris Casas.

Attempted home invasion ends in gunfire, police say;
Police searching for 2 men

By Patrick Phillips
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – North Charleston Police say two would-be home invaders were fired upon by one of two victims Friday afternoon.

Police responded to the 7900 block of Crossroads Drive shortly before 4:30 p.m. on a report of a possible home invasion and shots fired, according to North Charleston Police spokesperson Karley Ash.

Ash said a couple was inside an apartment when two people knocked on their door. When the man opened the door, the two grabbed him, Ash said.

The girlfriend grabbed a gun and fired at the two men, striking one of them, and both ran away, police say.

Police say they do not believe the attempted home invasion was a random attack.

“After speaking with the victims detectives believe that there was a relationship between the victims and the suspects, and that there is no cause for alarm for the community,” Ash said.

Florida officer trying to fend off charging dog accidentally shoots himself, report says

By Greg Norman
A Florida police officer who reacted in fear as a family’s boxer dog charged at him Friday accidentally shot himself in a botched act of self-defense, reports say.

The non-criminal incident happened at a home in Davie, just west of Fort Lauderdale, Davie Lt. Mark Leone told WPLG.

“When the police officer got to the front door of the residence, the family pet — happens to be a female boxer named Bella — ran right past him and went toward the [other] officer,” Leone said in an interview with the station. “The officer was in fear, drew his firearm and fired one shot.”

The bullet that was fired grazed the canine – but also struck the hand of the officer, which had gotten in front of the gun’s barrel, Leone added.

WPLG reports that surveillance video shows the officer grasping his hand and later wrapping some kind of bandage around it.

Big start to the work week, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. Two down and out, two more inconvenienced, and three in the wind. I expect things to calm down a bit over the rest of the week, and that’s not a bad thing at all.

Resistance to sudden violence, for the preservation not only of my person, my limbs, and life, but of my property, is an indisputable right of nature which I have never surrendered to the public by the compact of society, and which perhaps, I could not surrender if I would. — JOHN ADAMS

What is it with many po-po that any dog approaching them is an “enemy” that needs to be shot?
Yes, there needs to be caution when approaching any animal, or any animal that approaches you – especially dogs, who are highly territorial.
But this total fear of “shoot first, ask questions later” has gotten totally out of hand.
Maybe the po-po need to be issued uniform pants and shirts with padded kevlar sleeves and legs.

If that po-po is so “fearful” that he has to (try to) shoot the dog, then he needs to find another less stressful line of work……like……(nope)……or maybe……..(no)…….
I can’t think of a line of work for this underachiever that is both less stressful (lots of those) AND doesn’t affect the public if he fucks up (hhmmmmmmm……..).
Hopefully his fellow officers will taunt him so unmercifully that he quits. (who do you think you are? JC? putting pre-drilled holes in yer hand?)

I wouldn’t even hire him as a shopping mall “Rent-a-Fuzz”!

API,
Exactly my point (besides the one on top of my head).
There is no job that I can think of that would satisfy both conditions.

Once again, AW1Ed taunts and teases as he aims to please, with a pic of gun pr0n.
I really like that smooth gray (Parkerized?) finish with the contrasting white grips, all minimal, no embellishment. And a matching knife in gray and steel, smooth, clean, minimal lines.
Personal collection?

I think it’s a pretty well refinished 1911 that (the frame) was made in 1918.

Correcto mundo and spot on Tox. Just more proof that AW1Ed loves us and wants us to be happy…or that the aeronautically designated squidly swabbie just likes throwing us “doggies” a bone. Seeing that Colt’s rendition of the Saintly John Moses Browning’s (Howitzer be his name) work is so inspiring; firing it would be inspirational; owning that one would be Heavenly.

Fresno needs to heed those words of John Adams and turn the store owner loose. No one that’s a popo should be afraid of dogs. If your friends are busting in, armed, to kidnap you, you need better friends.

To me, that is the height of any artist’s work, to maximize their artistry by adding ………..nothing.

Don’t have enough info on the fresno shooting as to if the perps running out of the shop after the fact displayed any fire arms towards the shop owner or didn’t which could be a problem for the owner when the details come out.

Forgot to add this on my above comment. I’ve got to “hand” it to that PO that he didn’t also shoot anyone else beside his hand and the pooch. Thank God the pooch wasn’t a German Shepherd or he/she would have been Defurred from the Military.

(rowrrrrrrr………..) (pawpalm)

The article says the bullet hit the dog and the officers hand.
It seems to me it should read the @bullet hit the hand and then the dog”.

That is a very nice version of America’s fighting gun, the Colt 1911.
The white grips set off the grey parkerizing very well.
