New Impeachment Articles on President Trump?

| December 23, 2019

Impeachment proceedings play into President Trump’s hands. (Gary Varvel)

In their efforts to get Don McGahn, former White House Counsel, to testify before them, the Democrats are “waving” additional impeachment articles. They previously wanted to get McGahn to testify regarding claims that President Trump wanted to have Robert Mueller fired.

Even though the Mueller Investigation is over, and didn’t provide them with the ammunition they wanted against President Trump, the Democrats feel that McGahn has vital information. Information that he provides could be the source of additional impeachment articles against President Trump.

From Fox News:

“If McGahn’s testimony produces new evidence supporting the conclusion that President Trump committed impeachable offenses that are not covered by the Articles approved by the House, the Committee will proceed accordingly—including, if necessary, by considering whether to recommend new articles of impeachment,” the brief stated, noting that they still have “ongoing impeachment investigations.”

The Department of Justice pointed out, in its counter-argument, that if the court weighs in favor of the Democrats, that this could influence the impeachment process. They could make the argument that the court didn’t support the President’s justification. One implication is that a court-ordered requirement to cooperate would hint at “obstruction” on the President’s part.

In their response, the Democrats argued:

The committee disagreed, citing the upcoming Senate trial and “ongoing impeachment investigations,” as well as the public’s “significant interest ‘in immediately removing a sitting president whose continuation in office poses a threat to the Nation’s welfare.'”

The public’s interest in removing the President? This is a “fancy” way to say that their supporters, and they, have an interest in undoing the results of the 2016 election because it didn’t go their way.

The articles of impeachment focus on Democrat claims of “quid pro quo” related to Ukraine, and not on the Russia investigation. You could read more here.

Nixon 1993. SCOTUS ruled 9-0 that the Senate has -sole- authority, not subject to any Judicial review, to try or acquit.

McConnel can end this with a single vote. And should.

Note also the current Articles include language about presenting to the Senate, so ParteiLeader Pelosi is slam-dunk wrong.

Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH B Woodman

Is that “waving” (hi….bye…..) or “waiving” (refrain from using a rule)?
Just wanting clarification.

Old NFO

The dems WILL try again and again… Especially if Trump gets re-elected, which he probably will, based on the BS from this go around…

There was a children’s movie way back yonder pert near 40 years ago whose title reminds me of this sh^t show. It was called “The Never Ending Story”. Just like this ongoing one, I wasn’t sure what it was all about, but the kids squealed and giggled; and they played it over and over and over. Lawd help me I was glad when that tape finally broke. Sure do wish this tape would break too.

I am purely sick of this crap. Has there been ANY business of the people taken care of in the last 3 years? Didn’t think so. I bet they all have managed to line their pockets a little more. Seems like I do remember they managed to vote themselves a nice raise? I may be wrong on that, been very little news out of the swamp other than “orange man bad” click “orange man bad” click.

One of Nanny Lugosi’s cohorts, I think it was Waters, stated that she was interested in impeaching VP Pence, can it get any more obvious that the whole thing is a thinly veiled coup attempt?

As a self-professed ‘man with a certain set of skills’, I sincerely request that they drop this veil and grab their pistols.

I wonder if the DemoRat merry go round are starting to run out of brass rings as it goes round and round and where it stops, nobody knows.

Ex-PH2

Can it get more obvious that this is an effort by a bunch of spoiled brats to get their way?

If only they’d throw more tantrums like this, and do it publicly, something like “we’ll drag this right down to the next inauguration!!!”

Tough titties, they already passed their crap so the Senate can vote (No) on it– no do-overs.

Skippy

Does anybody know why the DOJ is dragging its feet with the he Durham Investigation????
Could this be the reason for the Dems rush to
Impeach????

If you think he is fat now, you should see some photos of him before he had his stomach stapled. Personally, I think he suffered some brain damage during that bariatric surgery.
