Pete Buttigieg hits Trump on soldiers’ pardons

| November 17, 2019

Well this didn’t take long.

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg on Saturday tore into President Donald Trump for pardoning two Army officers who were accused or found guilty of war crimes.

“There’s nothing pro-military about overruling our military justice system to prevent it from delivering accountability for war crimes,” Buttigieg tweeted. “The president has again dishonored our armed services.”

The comments from the South Bend, Ind., mayor, who served in Afghanistan, came after Trump granted clemency to Army 1st Lt. Clint Lorance and Maj. Mathew Golsteyn despite lingering concerns the pardons could undermine the military justice system. The president also restored Navy SEAL Ed Gallagher’s rank to chief petty officer.

POTUS wannabe Pete speaks from experience, too. According to documents obtained by ABC 57’s investigative reporter Clifton French, Buttigieg served a total of nine months, with six months in the Afghanistan Threat Finance Cell (ATFC) in Kabul, placing him in “an imminent danger pay area” from late March to mid-September 2014.

Buttigieg represented ATFC at “high level briefings,” the documents say, and “coordinated intelligence sharing and targeting deconfliction” methods with multiple organizations.

In his book “Shortest Way Home,” Buttigieg wrote about how he expected to spend the bulk of his time as an intelligence analyst “behind a sophisticated computer terminal in a secure area.”

But out on the campaign trail, Buttigieg has talked about the 119 times he says he crossed “outside the wire,” leaving the relative safety of the base as a vehicle commander on convoy security detail in dangerous parts of Kabul.

“We learned what it is to trust one another with our lives,” Buttigieg said in his presidential launch speech.

The documents do not say anything about Buttigieg’s time outside the wire, but military officials who reviewed the documents for The Hill note that he likely did not engage in direct combat, which would have earned him a Navy combat ribbon.

If Trump had not granted the pardons and reinstatement of rank he would have been guilty of throwing our brave soldiers and sailors under the legal bus of an out-of-date, unconstitutional justice system.

Thanks for your service, Pete.

I’d say Pete could go get f***ed, but he’d enjoy it too much

Slow Joe

Well, in that picture he is showing us what appears to be his assigned weapon.

If that’s the case, he definitively did not conduct missions on a daily basis since his M4 has night combat capabilities (no lasers like peq15 or pac4) and not even a basic daylight optic, having only an iron backup sight.

This is the lowest of the lowest. An M4 straight out of the arms room for a dude not expected to leave the FOB. That M4 is basically a chow piece, the bare minimum required to be allowed to enter the mess hall.

Anonymous

That picture looks like he said “Quick, let’s go outside and get a picture– it’ll be cool!”

Ex-PH2

When I see something like that, which you know is all for PR, I hear this song in my head:

Me and my M4
Headin’ for the door
Never did fire it
Ohhhh, never want to fire it!

Just a question: weren’t people posted over there required to at least wear a sidearm for self-protection? Just askin’. I want to make sure I understand what the requirements were.

A Proud Infidel®™

During my time there 2005-06, you were required to have a weapon on you 24/7 and at least a 30 round mag handy just in case. I also wholeheartedly agree with Slow Joe on this, his is a bare-bones rear echelon rifle!

Ret_25X

there’s nothing pro-american about pardoning illegal aliens, Pete said as he turned his city into a “sanctuary city” and called upon congress to pay all illegal’s medical care and provide “living wage” welfare.

A Proud Infidel®™

Another slovenly “Free shit for everyone” politician pandering to the slackers and losers! Is it just me or do are the vast majority of those pandering for socialism ones who have never contributed much in the first place?

Almost all of these mofos never had a job that didn’t have a government paycheck. Exhibit A is one Bernie Sanders, who is now a multimillionaire.

“Thanks for your service, Pete.”

Thanks for sitting down and shutting the eff up, Pete. There, Bro, I FIFY!

The only people that should be thanking Pete for his service would be the clientele behind the dumpster at the Flying J or the patrons of Brucie’s Bath House (Entrance in the Rear)

Some of us Damn Yankees spent a day or two in the South and understand the implication of the comment rather well, in fact some of us have stolen that comment and use it to confound our other northern acquaintances…

Cameron Kingsley

Good for stumping foreigners too.

ArmyATC

True. It’s a phrase I heard fairly regularly growing up in the Midwest. Mine may be a unique experience though. My dad was from Appalachia, Eastern Kentucky and my mom was a Southern Ohio girl who grew up along the river. When visiting her hometown of Gallipolis it was a favored phrase among folks there. When I heard it I knew I had done or said something incredibly stupid.

rgr769

Ed, you shoulda posted the photo of him with no gear and an M-4 with no mag. I love how the ABC Progda tells us he musta been in serious combat cuz he received combat pay. Well so does every REMF in a combat zone. The REMFiest POGs received combat pay in the Viet of the Nam. None of them, or anyone else, even carried weapons “inside the wire” at our division base camps. I am having trouble believing he led 119 convoys during his six months, yet he was a big cheese briefer on terrorist finance.

rgr769

Also, pulleze, he remembers that he went “outside the wire” to lead convoys 119 times. I might believe that if he was keeping track for a “vehicle ground combat medal” (like an Air Medal). I couldn’t tell you how many times I rode out of a main gate of or otherwise left a division or other secure base camp, even a month after I rotated out of the Viet of the Nam. I call made up bullshit on that factiod. But who knows, maybe he was keeping track, cuz he wanted to use it in a political campaign, just like ol’ John Effing Kerry.

11B-Mailclerk

That did sound like an “asspull” number.

rgr769

Yes, it does. Maybe 120 was a bridge to far and he didn’t want to use an even number. Let’s see, six into 119 means he was leading a convoy about 20 days each month of the six he was in A-stan. Seems unlikely for a major fobbit. But maybe his power-points were so unbearable, the powers that be kept finding things to get him outta the FOB/TOC.

Comm Center Rat

He would’ve had even more “missions” but Pete didn’t roll outside the wire on any Man Love Thursday.

Combat Historian

Au Contraire; I bet he rolled every Thursday night to perform “engagement” with the local tribal elders…

Has to be some way to trace what he actually did, you know.

After all, there’s that photo of him holding a big rifle of some kind improperly. I certainly would not let him anywhere near my house or my front lawn or my street, since he’s that inept.

rgr769

Maybe Butt-gauge will publish pages from his My Little Pony or Pink Unicorn Diary he kept in the A-stan: “Today at 1130 hours, I led the staff convoy to the falafel stand just outside the Green Zone for a sumptuous lunch. I love ethnic food. Gee, that new LTC Vindman sure is hot, and he speaks Rusky.”

Club Manager, USA ret.

The photo does not look like “the dangerous streets of Kabul”. Nevertheless, he was not to bright to pose as a target for a sniper especially sans his helmet and body armor. His attire does not say “danger zone”.

Anonymous

They pulled over on the way there so he could get a picture. (Hard to do a selfie while holding the M4, you know.)

Stacy0311

Still have a spreadsheet from an earlier deployment to Iraq. Covers all missions the company performed, who was where, what missions, when they mission occurred, etc.
In 9 months I’m pretty sure that NOBODY in my company did 119 “missions outside the wire”. Maybe 119 days, but not individual missions.

Inbred Redneck

Hell, my combat pay continued for three months while I was at 106th GH in Japan. Those were the days of the ten % interest savings plan. You could designate up to the full amount of your base pay, iirc, and since I wasn’t spendin’ much in the field they took almost a hundred bucks for the savings. Once the combat pay ran out, I forgot to drop the allotment down to 25 bucks. Took awhile for the paper work to go through (I know that’s hard to believe) so the first couple of months on Okinawa my take home was pretty thin. Our daughter re-upped while in the combat zone and her 33K bonus was tax free, spread out over the next 4 or 5 years, even when she got back to North Island.

USMC Steve

I can categorically tell you he didn’t. He was an intel officer. He would not have had the time to do that stuff and his job. Seeing the intel section, both Navy and Marine in the workup for first Gulf War, we were some busy people. Unless this guy was so incompetent in his MOS that they loaned him out to get rid of him.

A Proud Infidel®™

Given the way he runs his mouth, I say he could easily have been a Lars!

OmegaPaladin

My father got combat pay during Vietnam. More correctly, inside a carrier’s engine room, out off shore of Vietnam. His biggest enemy was high-pressure (possibly radioactive) steam, not Charlie.

A Terminal Lance Coolie

It’s definitely a number he pulled out of his ass. There’s no way he was in all those briefings and still managed to pull that number of runs.

Very rough napkin math based on absolutely nothing but memory says I made it outside the wire maybe 70 times, and it was my job to go outside the wire. I’m not counting the two months I spent on Iraqi Police liasion duty, since their police station was literally 100m from the end of the ECP we left through.

Mason

119 times outside the wire? Who keeps count like that? Someone who makes something up would be my guess.

Clemency is also very different from a pardon. He’s not subverted anything in the justice system, just letting them out with sentences served. Kinda like how Obama did to the traitor Manning and the terrorist Oscar Lopez Rivera.

Mason

Right. I was talking more about the two officers, who I think is whom Buttigieg is more upset about.

Perry Gaskill

Mason, Buttigieg probably didn’t have much trouble counting the 119 number. He was apparently an O-3 reservist who worked as a driver for his commander. Part of his duty was to taxi his CO in a HumVee from Bagram Air Base to Kabul on a regular basis. A distance of about 25 miles.

He could say, “Yeah, we had to attend briefings in Kabul every day.”

But it’s so much more heroic to say, “We had 119 missions outside the wire.”

rgr769

Since when does the Army use an O-3 as in effect a jeep driver? I regularly drove a jeep to get to the Da Nang AFB and back to Camp Reasoner, but the only ass being driven was my own. I would never have the temerity to ask one my LT’s to drive for me. They would have looked at me like my cheese slipped off the cracker.

David

He was a squid. Squid rules. More likely he carried the captain’s briefcase?

rgr769

Who knew. With four or five different cammo patterns, it is pretty hard to tell which branch is which. I guess aquaflage would be a bit out of place in Bagram or Kabul. I note in both his photos holding an M-4, he is wearing zero equipment and no armor. He looks like he walked outside the wire at the FOB with someone’s M-4 and had his pic taken.

A Proud Infidel®™

JUST like the picture of Al Gore Junior alleged to have been taken in Vietnam where Al Junior didn’t even have a magazine in his rifle!

rgr769

Yup. Just like that cook’s helper that had his pic taken on my perimeter holding one of my company’s M-60’s with no belt.

Comm Center Rat

I’m glad Al survived his VN tour otherwise the Internet would never have been invented.

Ex-PH2

I believe this is the photo to which API is referring. The writer makes several good points in his critique, among them that Gorebull is wearing a rubberized jacket over his fatigues, has only one canteen, and has a winter sleeping bag on his ruck – all of which is clearly incorrect in the Viet of the Nam, even in the north near the DMZ in the winter. Up there, you either boiled or you froze.

http://gunwatch.blogspot.com/2015/11/was-al-gore-being-stupid-with-m-16.html

Now, if someone can find something similar for Butthead that is a less-than-obvious effort to appear to be “part of the action”, when in fact, Butthead looks like a dork with that rifle, sitting on a large rock in plain sight of any jihadi that wants to shoot him, please let us know!

Perry Gaskill

My own experience with hot climate in RVN was that it tended to be more related to elevation than latitude. I remember landing in the Central Highlands one foggy afternoon with rain, and although it was probably only around 60 degrees, it seemed chilly after being in 90-degree heat day after day. I also remember passing through Da Lat one time where the elevation was 5000 ft. or so. According to Vietnamese history, Da Lat was where the old Annamese royalty had hunting lodges for when they wanted to escape the summer heat in Hue. Some of those lodges had survived, and were interesting examples of still-maintained native architecture.

For what it’s worth, the garment Gore is wearing in the photo appears to me to be an Army-issued anorak. They weren’t rubberized, it would have tended to sweat inside in the rain, but instead a water-proofed canvas with a big kangaroo pouch in front. Useful gear if you could find one, but about as rare as a moon rock.

A Proud Infidel®™

Not it but close, the pic I was thinking of is one that was taken of him in gear in front of some brush standing ramrod straight with a ruck on his back and his Weapon slung with no magazine in it. THAT pic does come close to it in exposing Al Junior’s fakery and I enjoyed reading the comments of Real Vets tearing him up!

rgr769

After looking at that photo, which I had never seen before, I must comment. The Algore is wearing the pullover jacket of the rain suit issued to us in the Viet of the Nam. I had never seen them until I was sent North and joined the Americal Division during the Monsoon in Dec., 1970. The later to be inventor of the internet (in that photo) is wearing the pullover rain jacket. This rain suit (it also had pants) was only worn in static positions like on a firebase (in the Monsoon season).

With regard to his weapon, an M-16, there is no magazine in his weapon, but that does not mean it was unloaded. If one removes the mag with a round chambered, the rifle is still “loaded.” I watched a bunker guard shoot himself in the foot who was unaware he left a round chambered when he removed the mag from his weapon. It was the funniest tableau I saw over there. But back to the rain jacket (like an anorak). They were only worn when it was raining cats and dogs, and not while humping a rucksack, as they did not breathe. They were a vulcanized (rubberized) fabric. You would sweat through whatever you were wearing under them above about 70 degrees. So no one wore them in the bush, especially while humping a ruck. Plus, they were heavy. But then since the Algore was a REMF and a POG, he would not know that. Also, as a reporter for Stars and Stripes, he had a buck sgt. assigned to make sure he never went anywhere dangerous, as his daddy was a D-rat senator who was not a staunch supporter of the war.

rgr769

I should note that it is highly unlikely anyone ever allowed SP4 Gore to chamber a round in the Viet of the Nam. I doubt anyone ever issued him any ammo.

Perry Gaskill

A curious episode I remember in RVN was a convoy one day from Nha Trang to Cam Ranh Bay. We went down with about six empty deuce-and-a-halfs and a couple of jeeps. The road wandered inland from the coast up into the hills until it eventually looped back to the giant sand dune also known as Cam Ranh. When we got there, the cargo for return turned out to be a bunch of large random-sized fully-assembled– empty– wooden crates. Broken down into flat panels, they could all have easily fit into one 6X6 with room to spare.

My thought at the time was that either those were some seriously super-duper secret empty crates not to be tampered with, or that the supply LT had run out of un-super-duper Mk I hammers…

According to Buttigieg, he was called upon to travel with his commander because “There had to be at least two people with rifles in the vehicle and I was one of those in my unit who was rifle qualified,” What? I thought everyone had to requal with their issue weapon prior to deployment. Doesn’t the Navy require enlisted sailors to rifle qualify during boot camp? I’m just finding it hard to believe that he was one of only a few who were rifle qualified.

ArmyATC

It just occurred to me that he was in a joint unit in Afghanistan. So there’s no way he would have been one of the few who were rifle qualified.

Buttigieg has certainly embellished his Afghan service for political gain.

There appears to be a back-up iron sight, in the stowed position, at the rear of the receiver.

There -might- be a small red-dot sight under his left hand. I doubt it, but it is possible.

His boots appear to be clean and in very good condition.

His uniform appears relatively clean and neat, other than the water bottle in the cargo pocket. Very good condition. No grubbies or wear marks on the knees, etc.

His hands look clean.

He shows no sign of “helmet head”, like forehead marks from the headband or cross straps mussing the hair.

TO HELL WITH pissy Petey Butt-plug. HE had a cush job in the A/C behind the wire while I was an 11B doing Convoy Escort Missions, he’s lied about other things and exposed his hypocrisy thus I express at least a barge load of doubts about him leaving the wire as many times as he says he did and what sickens me even further is that REMFs/Fobbits like him got BSMs while Grunts like me got ARCOMS and many of us took more shits outside the wire than he went there. I wonder id pissy Petey Butt-plug didn’t venture outside the wire just enough to be the goat-boy on Man-love Thursdays? What kind of legacy is he running on other than being a pecker-puffing Mayor and I bet that he made being a pecker-puffing pillow-biter a cornerstone of his campaign so he could be an EO Quota?

LARP = Live Action Role Play

A form of role-playing game where the participants dress the part and act out scenes. Sort of gamer mixed with street theater. It becomes a lifestyle for some.

Sometimes, LARP means “Live action Reich play” for those who think they are the modern incarnation of the prior goosestepping idiots, or their RedAbteilung modern counterparts. Neither bunch appreciate the tag.

From Wikipedia:

Military career:

In 2007, while volunteering for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, Buttigieg joined the military; he said he was prompted to do so after witnessing the disparities between communities that had large amounts of youth missing due to military service and those that had barely any serving.[45]

Buttigieg became an ensign in the U.S. Navy Reserve in 2009 and began training to become a naval intelligence officer. In 2014, he took a seven-month leave during his mayoral term to deploy to Afghanistan.[46][47][48] While there, Buttigieg was part of a unit assigned to identify and disrupt terrorist finance networks. Part of this was done at Bagram Air Base, but he also worked as an armed driver for his commander on more than 100 trips into Kabul. Buttigieg has jokingly referred to this role as “military Uber”, because he had to watch out for ambushes and explosive devices along the roads and ensure the vehicle was guarded.[45] In order to better communicate with the local Afghans, he learned some Dari (a variety of the Persian language). Buttigieg was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal[49] and the Joint Meritorious Unit Award[50] and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy Reserve in 2017.[51][52]

Since I’m Army, I’m assuming “Ensign” is nearly the same as “Second Lieutenant”? And as we all know, Second Lieutenants have been known to get lost on compass courses so did he ever get lost while Ubering his boss back & forth to Kabul?
(Inquiring Grunt minds want to know)

A Proud Infidel®™

Hell, I’ve done no less than THREE Overseas Tours, Korea, A-stan and Kuwait, I bet I have more time in a mess hall than he does total time outside the wire. Here’s something to consider when he brays about his Convoys, we did Convoy Security, thus HIS Convoys would have been protected by Grunts like me in Gun Trucks and WE considered departure and return as one mission. SOme days we’d do three or four missions and a few took days, I wonder if Bu-googly didn’t count BAF to Kabul (Likely Camp Eggers which houses the Embassy Compound) as ONE mission and returning to BAF as another while we didn’t count it as a mission until we returned back inside our home wire.

Ex-PH2

Okay,API, let’s do the math. If he “did” 119 ‘missions’ during a period of 7 months, that says he spent more time driving a vehicle than anything else.

That alone seems like inflation to me, since he was “intel” or something, and if so, what was he doing driving a vehicle on Danger Highway?

But that question aside, if he WAS intel, and was supposed to NOT be in harm’s way, exactly what was he doing there IN harm’s way?

Something just does not add up here, that’s all.

rgr769

According to his DD-214 he was only in A-Stan for 5.6 months, not seven. As that is the period for which he drew combat pay.

Yes, and his DD says he was in the Accounting office, NOT in Intel or anything like that, soooo……

Seems that instead of some sort of venture outside the safety of a fortified compound into Danger Close, he was manning a pen and a phone, which is why his hair looks so good in that photo. I’d bet you can’t even find a hangnail on him.

A Proud Infidel®™

I did a LOT of Convoys from Kabul to Bagram and we never got messed with on that route, “Hadji” would leave us alone and hit European Units instead! OH, and BAF was considered Shangri-La compared to many other Bases and Posts, particularly the FOBs.

Doc Savage

“119 times he crossed outside the wire”?

I have been over here nearly 11 years now contracting; moving between fobs/cobs/camps in the KBC is usually done by aircraft unless its a quick drive from HKIA to Gibson. and thats usually in an MRAP….the few folks that actually drive outside the wire in the KBC are NATO SOAT/SOAG’s in up armored SUV’s.

Anything longer than 5 miles is done by Air…even bouncing from the Embassy soccer field to HKIA.

I imagine the biggest risk he may have taken was bad food at the King James or Turkish DFAC

kaf

My thoughts exactly.

And he sure didn’t do much Intel stuff if he spent every other day in a convoy.

I’ll go ahead and throw the bullshit flag right here.

HT3 '83-'87

I bet he has “no problem” with Barry’s pardoning of Bradley Manning…am-I-right or am-I-right?

That and his “Sanctuary City” policy give him no legs to stand on…which I’m sure he doesn’t mind cuz he likes being on his knees.

Slow Joe

119 is obviously a made up number.
Nobody counts missions after the first week.

The same applies to those claiming “confirmed kills”. The Army does not confirm kills, and for personal counts nobody counts pass single digits, not that you could accurately be sure of which hajji was killed by whom. Unless you initiated the engagement with the first shot, you are highly unlikely to know who effectively shot whom.

So I call it bullshit on all those kill counts numbers.

Buttifuck was a REMF, an intel type who was not allowed to go outside the wire. The Navy’s intel weinies are not trained to fight, and they stay in compounds where they can be protected so they don’t get captured. And if he didn’t resign his commission, he is at minimum guilty of violation of two and possibly three articles of the UCMJ. Oh, he is also a poseur with that weapon that is most likely not his.

Combat Historian

For the Navy types here: did Petey Buttgay even go through actual bootcamp-type OCS training, or was he a graduate of the 2-week fork-and-knife school like Hunter Biden presumably did?

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Pete should stick to what he knows, although I’m not sure what that is because he’s pretty useless as a mayor of one of the most dangerous cities in the nation and seemingly out of touch with the reality of violence in his community.

Last time I checked “military justice” wasn’t a whole lot better than “civilian justice” in this country. I think there have been enough instances displayed on this very sit of favored status routinely granted to senior officers for a wide variety of improprieties for us all to understand how hollow the word justice rings when describing punitive actions in the military.

Trump, as with any president, can pardon whomever he wishes for whatever reason he wishes. Pete’s welcome to disagree certainly, but whether we like it or not we as a nation have decided it’s okay to kill certain people even if they are innocent of anything having to do with the conduct of the GWOT. Pete never said a word about Trump’s predecessor deciding to kill the family members of an HVT during a family gathering just to get the HVT. Perhaps there’s an hugely obvious distinction for Pete, but for me if you’ve decided it’s okay to murder some kids because you want their uncle dead it’s pretty hard later on to be pissed off when one of your subordinates decides to kill a random motorcyclist who may or may not be tomorrow’s convoy attackers…it’s the pretense of righteousness in the first case versus the latter that lays bare the falsehood of the morality of such justice.

The reality for Pete Buttigieg ,regardless of his Iowa surge, is that he’s polling nationally at a whopping 8% on average according to RCP

Consequently he is trying desperately to remain relevant in a race that he’s losing before it’s technically even started.

The Democrats for all their talk of “fresh” new ideas seem content to let a trio of 70 year olds battle it out to represent their party.

rgr769

These low rent mofos have to stick their oars in the water every time they have an Orange Man Bad opportunity with the Progda.

rgr769

I might add that the motorcyclists Lorance authorized his men to shoot were not some random riders trying to get from point A to B. They were riding toward his position and ignoring orders to stop, at a time when a number of troops had been killed or wounded by homicide/suicide bombers on motorcycles. Moreover, the two killed were Taliban bomb makers. He had seconds to make the decision he was prosecuted for making. Hardly a “war crime,” as claimed by that corrupt POS, Quid Pro Joe.

Mayor Buttplug was a FOBBIT no matter what he claims. Whatever unit controlled the FOB would have a by name roster of every individual leaving the wire maintained in the COC. The deadest giveaway besides the picture that he was a FOBBIT is no CAR, the Navy is a bit more liberal in awarding the CAR than the Marines. Maybe Buttplug, Brian Williams and Das Hildebeast can get together, have a few glasses of wine and share “war stories”…

Here’s a copy of Buttigieg’s DD-214 for his Afghanistan service.

What’s truly hilarious is that the gay mayor of South Bend is named PETER pail BUTTigieg.

Jeez, they redact so much as “PII” now it’s barely his name and that he was in Asscrackistan.

A Proud Infidel®™

He served in A-stan and resigned his commission in 2017, no eight years of Service like I signed up for when I first enlisted!

Did it for the politician’s resumé– so he’s a “vet’ran,” you know.

Very impressive. A whole seven and a half months on AD, with five and a half in A-Stan in two of the most secure bases there. Wow!

His opinion on this matters?

ArmyATC

A few he served with have said how critical he was to operations in Afghanistan. So why did Buttigieg only receive a Joint Service Commendation? This was at a time when officers and senior NCOs routinely received Bronze Stars as end of deployment awards.

I’m thinking that he must have been a real Lars of an Officer and that was their way of giving him the middle finger before he left!

Simple, officers almost invariably get an end of tour award which is more akin to a participation award. That is most likely what this was. He did nothing.

I agree. What I find interesting is that it was a Joint Commendation rather than the usual Bronze Star that the vast majority get, despite all the praise heaped upon him for his supposed excellent service in Afghanistan. He either had a commander who didn’t believe in handing out awards like candy, a rarity, or Buttigieg wasn’t nearly as high speed as he’s been made out to be. I would love to see what awards were given to the other unit members at the end of the deployment.
