Bad Stuff Going On Here

| November 8, 2019

A USMC machine gunner stitches the corner of a wall in the movie ‘The Public Enemy’; back then, the studios used real bullets instead of squibs. The corner of the building where the bullets hit it tells you how accurate the gunner was.  Cagney ran back into the alley to avoid the spatter of stone fragments.

There is a switch that turns a Glock handgun into an automatic weapon. Glock does not make such things. They are coming from China and they are very, very illegal. Adding this switch gives the user an automatic weapon, yes, but it also violates the Federal Firearms Law. There appear to be a lot of them here already.

https://fox5sandiego.com/2019/05/23/atf-on-the-hunt-for-thousands-of-illegal-machine-gun-conversion-devices-smuggled-into-us/

This is beyond disturbing because if these switches can be ordered directly from China, what else is coming through the mail?  The ATF is involved in finding these things and arresting the people who have them.

This guy was arrested for having it. It was addressed to “John Wick”.  He jumped out a window with the envelope holding two of these switches in his possession. https://www.cookcountysheriff.org/chicago-man-charged-with-uuw-after-switches-that-convert-handguns-to-fully-automatic-weapons-delivered-to-residence/

This is not a product Glock would make or sell. It comes from China.

So, who would want it?  Does the term “gangbangers” sound suitable?

On Hallowe’en, a 15-year-old idiot on the South Side of Chicago was looking for a 31-year-old man, and took a shot at him. Instead of hitting his rival, he twice shot a 7-year-old girl out going Trick or Treating with her father. She is recovering and will be all right. The 15-year-old was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

The street was crowded with Trick or Treaters that night, most of them young children with parents, despite the cold. You can imagine how much worse it could have been if Javeon had attached one of those switches to his gun.  https://time.com/5718109/attempted-murder-chicago-halloween/

The problem is not the means of doing something, in this case, guns. The real problem is the people who do these things and buy this crap, with no thought to the consequences, and they who don’t care who gets hurt when they do it. And what was a 15-year-0ld kid doing with a gun, anyway?  I have serious doubts that ‘he a good boy’ will get him out of this.

The biggest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing people that he didn’t exist. – ‘The Usual Suspects’ movie.

The ATF was selling the Glock full auto kit on Amazon a couple years ago as an airsoft toy.

The problem with this, is not that it is illegal…because it is. The problem is that people who don’t know anything about guns, but have the ability to make and influence legislation, will use this as a means to infringe on our rights.
We need the ability to enforce the laws that are already on our books…not try to pass new ones to give the government more overreach!

Live fire in a movie?
It was pretty common back when there was
common sense about firearms.
Then they started faking everything with embedded
charges and rick-o-shays.
Remember the live nightfire exercise in BASIC?
Low crawling under barbed wire only to rest
beside a “charged” dirt pile.
Oh how I miss old Ft. Dix.

Fyrfighter

Lol, that brings back some memories Beans.. was there in 88..

I remember it. I went through basic at Dix in 1979.

The more sh^tbaggery people get away with, the more they will try to get away with. The notion of SWIFT, SURE, and REAL punishment is gone. From the punk ass hood rat all the way thru the crooked CEO, the murderer, and the foreign enemy, the trial takes forever and the punishment amounts to a slap on the wrist. A 15 second blurb on the evening news and out of sight, out of mind. When you have an ironclad case, as in the examples above, there is no reason for it to takes years and years for the Judgement Day. Then film the punishment and show it on the TV. Here’s another novel idea. Put live stream cameras in the prisons so the up & coming punks can see their future. Some LEO friends of mine tell me that the “Scared Straight Program” has some very positive results in making potential hoodlums honestly try to “turn their lives around.”

The Chinese would be as giddy as demonrats at a ballot box stuffing party to see the banning of private firearms in America. This is just another way that the Chinks can undermine our Republic and they are hell bent to help our domestic enemies in this mission. Folks seem to forget that the main reason the US has not been invaded by a foreign military is the fact that the Armed American Citizens make up the largest Army in the world. When we lose the right to bear arms, we will soon lose every other right that we have.

I do not understand the love affair between gun owners and automatic fire.
I only have 20 round magazines because if I start shooting 30, I waste a lot of ammo and the more rounds you fire invariably the worse your shot pattern is.
My DS at Ft Leonard Wood was a Vietnam Grunt and schooled us on slowing down to aim unless you were in a situation that required fire suppression for movement and then you had to be very careful so you don’t get fratricide…
I don’t care if people have them or anything like that, I just don’t understand why people are so in love with them.

Firearms aficionados do not have a love affair with fully automatic guns. Their only utility is in warfare, crime or law enforcement. Most of us can’t afford to feed any full-auto. Moreover, they are ammo wasters. A full auto pistol is particularly useless for anything other than a drive-by.

USMC Steve

Me neither. I load my own ammo and could not keep up with full auto all the time. Even buying ammo would be too expensive when spraying it all over da place. One shot, one kill.

USAF RET

Man, you’d be spraying like a Mo Fo.

The Other Whitey

Almost any semiautomatic weapon can be made fully automatic. In 1934, San Antonio gunsmith Hyman Lebman made five custom full-auto 1911s for a pair of walk-in customers, not knowing that the two customers were John Dillinger and Babyface Nelson. Beretta has offered the 93R, a burst-firing variant of the 92, for decades. CZ makes a full-auto-capable version of the CZ-75. And Glock makes the select-fire Glock-18, otherwise known as the only Glock model that’s not cheap as shit. Applying this Chinese conversion to a Glock-17, -19, or other standard model is much cheaper than getting your paws on an 18, legally or otherwise. Hollywood armorers like them for that reason, as do criminals. Full-auto pistols are weapons of dubious practicality. I admit I haven’t shot one myself. The closest I’ve been is one of my cop cousins (SWAT guy) tried out a Glock-18 in a live fire exercise. His opinion of it was “fun, but worthless,” due to the obvious difficulty of controlling a pistol going cyclic at 1200rpm. He figured attaching a stock would likely help, but at that point you might as well have an MP-5 or something similar that does the whole SMG thing better. Keeping it set on semi renders it perfectly serviceable as a regular sidearm, but that also means that you just dumped a bunch of extra money for a capability you don’t even use. Opinions may vary, but I think we can agree that common sense supports his position. My take on it is that a full-auto pistol fits in a niche role as a weapon of resistance. The insurgent walks up to the bad guys, sprays them with his concealed buzzgun at handshake range, then gets the hell outta dodge with his weapon concealed again. Other insurgents help themselves to dead bad guys’ weapons and ammo. A more effective take on the FP-45 Liberator concept, if you will. This is why, as tempting as it is, I’m hesitant to completely discount the whole thing with the “nobody needs that” declaration, though I earnestly hope that need never arises in America. Obviously, shitbags… Read more »

Twenty bucks for an MMC or investment cast sear which costs $.30 to make. Knowing there are idiots to buy them… nice little sideline. 4000 sold at maybe $19+profit?

Chicoms… off course they’re doing it, make money of us evil Western devils while undermining us.

They accomplish their objective of making money while selling us things to kill us whether it’s fentanyl or this gun part.

I have been shooting firearms since I was a kid. I have fired full-auto weapons in and out of the Military. I will agree with the other people who have posted, fun but a waste of ammo. As far as a full auto Glock, no thanks. First round might, MIGHT be on target but the rest are going skyward, considering the audience. If you order one, you are toast. If you have installed it you are screwed. blued and tattooed! Want to shoot full auto? Go to Vegas, rent one at a range and fire a few EXPENSIVE mags of ammo, itch scratched.
