China’s 70th Anniversary

Map of Pag-asa Island – China’s property

This month is the 70th anniversary of Mao Tse-Tung’s establishment of a communist dictatorship in China. Xi JinPing may have taken his place, and China may be thriving in the material sense, through its manufacturing and exporting base, but things have really not changed at all.

When World War II ended, and before the Korean War split the Korean peninsula into two parts, Mao Tse-Tung had not yet seized control of China from Chiang Kai Chek.  The Republic of China’s retreat to Taiwan, also known as the Kuomintang retreat to Taiwan or (in Taiwan) “The Great Retreat” refers to the exodus of the remnants of the Kuomintang-ruled government of the Republic of China to the island of Taiwan in December 1949 at the end of the Chinese Civil War. The Kuomintang (KMT, Chinese Nationalist Party), its officers and approximately 2 million troops took part in the retreat; in addition to many civilians and refugees, fleeing from the advances of the Communist People’s Liberation Army.

Troops mostly fled to Taiwan from provinces in southern China, including Sichuan Province, where the last stand of the Republic of China’s main army took place. The flight to Taiwan took place over four months after Mao Zedong had proclaimed the founding of the People’s Republic of China in Beijing on October 1, 1949.

At this point, Mao Tse-Tung seized control of mainland China and held it from October 1, 1949 – September 27, 1954, at which time Chiang Kai-Chek took his army and set up government on the island of Taiwan.

Mao thought Trofim Lysenko’s notions of agriculture were a great idea, and with a population of over 1 billion to support, he really did not care if any of them starved when he inflicted that crap on them. When my brother and sister and I were in grade school, if we didn’t clean our plates at dinner, our father would get mad at us and tell us that “people were starving to death in China”. We thought it was a joke. We had no idea that it was reality.

What happened after Mao took control of mainland China became what is now China’s darkest side, the one hidden from the general public, not discussed but – well, everyone knows about it. They just don’t talk about it. During those protests in Tiannanmen Square, students were arrested, some executed and their families were sent a bill for services. But the Chinese government’s response to it was a classic: “That did not happen here in Beijing”, even if it was broadcast live on TV for the world to see.

Per this article by Yaqui Wang, from the LA Times, the hidden “dark” government is the real China, not the cheerfully advancing, tech-laden, coal-powered government that exports manufactured goods to the USA and the rest of the world. The human cost? China doesn’t really care, so keep yer yap shut.

Seventy years into the Chinese Communist Party’s rule, millions of people now live in the China that promises material comfort and convenience, and projects political unity. But they all live in fear of “the other China”— a reality the party’s top brass relies on to maintain control.

“…a reality the party’s top brass rely on to maintain control.” The very same theory that some in our government are brushing off as fear mongering. Anybody at all with half a brain and even a smidgen of history believe that the Chinese Government is all warm and fuzzy about having good relations with us? They will bury us with the shovel they made from our stolen technology, aid, and scrap metal. And many of our elected officials will profit from that business. Can you say Lurch Skerry, Biden, Clintoons, et al?

Excellent post Mi’Lady, got lost in all the linkies, but that is a good thing. Wonder how long it will be before the ‘gull shows up with his empirical data refuting the claims of people that opined on this subject?

China: Cold War, Part II (commies gonna commie)

Communism/Socialism works. They’re just doing it wrong. We’ll get it right next time.

If at first, you don’t succeed, there’s always the next generation.

SFC D

It’s easier to just erase a couple generations. Worked in China, Russia, Cambodia, etc. ad nauseum.

So who paid for that nice Gulfstream (#N684JC) taxi ride for Bernie?

Socialism is condemned to fail.
At its core it controls the people by planning everything in society, which in the evolutionary sense it means they are selecting themselves out by being less competitive.

Marx understood that, which is why he claimed a communist revolution was required in the whole world at the same time.

Any surviving free market society would out produce and out research the socialists, leading to a socialist collapse as seen in the Soviet Union.

This is what make China such a threat, while all others socialist society like the Norks and Venezians are paper tigers.

The Chinese have found a way to exploit our economic system for their benefit.

However, they can only benefit from our system due to the market distortions introduced by our Washington DC denizens.

The more freer we are the less the Chinese can exploit our freedoms against ourselves.

This is an accurate description of the “Progress” that Progressives Like Pelosi, Schumer and Schiff want to bring to America. Thank you, Yaqiu Wang.

The Other Whitey

And like good commies everywhere, the Chicoms practice disgusting amounts of historical revisionism. For instance, their narrative about Comrade Mao (never mind that he was a pedophile) leading the heroic resistance against the Japanese invaders. The truth is that Mao and the reds openly collaborated with the japs while Chiang and the KMT and some allied warlords fought. Mao only turned on the japs when Stalin made his opportunistic land grab in the final week of the war. Mao then took advantage of the fact that the KMT had been bled dry fighting the Japanese. Some Chinese citizens did want Mao to win at the time, as Chiang wasn’t the most pro-civil liberties guy in the world, but they soon found the reds to be far, FAR worse. They not only slaughtered their own population, the commies exterminated Chinese history and culture to such an extent that historians and anthropologists seeking to study said culture have to go to the US and UK and observe the Chinese immigrant populations.

In “The Last Centurion,” John Ringo points out that life for the common man has always sucked in China. There have been brief episodes where it has sucked somewhat less, but today it sucks more than ever. Any study of history indicates that he’s right.
