No charges filed in Rowan County shooting death
Based on self-defense, officials say murder charges related to the shooting death of Robin Worth Jr. will not be filed.

After investigating a Rowan County shooting death, officials have decided not to pursue charges. Officials say the fatal shot was fired as self-defense.

Statesville Police were called to the Davis Hospital just before midnight on September 13 when two people arrived with gunshot wounds. Both were in serious condition, and were transferred to Baptist Hospital for surgery.

The two gunshot wound victims were residents of Foster Road in Rowan County, 28-year-old Daquon Martin and 26-year-old Ronald Martin.

Around 4 a.m. September 14, Rowan County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a home in the 5900 block of Foster Road. A body was discovered in the front yard of the residence, identified as 35-year-old Robin Otto Worth Jr. He was found with latex gloves on his hands and a black shirt covering his face.

He died from a single gunshot wound.

Man with concealed-carry holds suspect, accused of crashing into cars, at bay

By: Erin Edwards
Charges are pending for a man accused of ramming his truck into cars at a Fort Mill plaza. The suspect was eventually stopped by another man with a gun.

Witnesses said the suspect got in his black truck and continuously slammed into three to four cars. He was stopped by one of the drivers, who was carrying a gun. The man with the gun allegedly hit the suspect in the head with the weapon.

“I thought he shot him, but he had pistol-whipped the fellow and that’s what made the gun go off,” said witness John Simpson.

The York County Sheriff’s Office said the person with the gun will not face charges and is a legal concealed-carry gun owner.

Madison Co. Man Acquitted In 2018 Fatal Shooting

A Combs man was acquitted on murder charges in the fatal shooting of his neighbor last year.

A Madison County Circuit Court jury on Friday (Sept. 13) found Dale Wayne Bryant, 57, not guilty of first or second-degree murder, negligent homicide or manslaughter charges.

Bryant was arrested in August of 2018 for shooting Samuel Scott Hicks, 30, after a fight, according to Sheriff Rick Evans.

Hicks’ family has filed a wrongful death suit, claiming Bryant shot Hicks in the back as he walked away.

Sen. Cruz on Fox News: To Stop Mass Shootings, Focus on Criminals, Not on Law-Abiding Citizens

by Ted Cruz
I today appeared on Fox & Friends urging Congress and President Trump to reject Democrats’ gun control agenda and instead take up and pass Grassley-Cruz, bipartisan legislation to prevent mass shootings and protect people’s lives as well as their constitutional and God-given right to self-defense.

Reinforcing the need for legislation that targets criminals, not law-abiding citizens, I said:

“I think we absolutely need to act to stop gun violence. I was in Odessa right after the shooting in Texas, I was in El Paso right after the shooting there. I’ve been in Sutherland Springs right after that shooting, I was in Santa Fe right after that shooting. These mass murders, there are too many of them, it is horrific, and we need to act to stop it, but the question is: What is effective to stop mass murders?

“What the Democrats are pushing is a gun control agenda, and their real objective, we saw on that debate stage. Three of ten Democrats on that debate stage are actively advocating federal gun confiscation. The federal government forcibly taking your firearms, that’s their agenda. That doesn’t work, that doesn’t stop crimes, and in fact when you disarm people you increase crimes.

Not sure about the count accuracy but the good guys won again today. Good to see Cruz taking a stronger stand on our rights. Now if he could just get the other RINOS and congress critters to read and comprehend the Constitution.

Good Luck? From TAH HQ FGS Branch? Demoan. Navy has a better chance of beating Army than ANYONE would have appealing a decision made by that HQs. And we ALL know how slim a chance that is. (ducks a thrown bottle of screen white out)

It all does make more sense now. The Linkie to WCNC didn’t open/not found this morning got a by-pass to it a little while ago. Security level on my end, my ‘putor didn’t like the initial linkie for some reason. That happens on occasion. My man put a high grade firewall and bug traps on here, just to keep the machine out of trouble. The DRT and one in the wind was made that way by the two WRT homeowners.

To me, everyday on the FGS, is a winner for the good guys.

December 1931, by one of my favorite historical figures, Winston Churchill. Remarkably prescient, except for growing slaves in glass tanks. At least that hasn’t happened yet…

Perry Gaskill

Churchill, at least it seems to me, was remarkably prescient in 1931 about the longer term, but missed more near-term events looming such as the impact of the Great Depression, and the rise of Hitler and Mussolini.

It would also be interesting to ask Churchill today what his thoughts are on the current Brexit political hairball. Speaking as a mere unruly colonial, the Brits just can’t seem to decide whether to fish or cut bait…

Some people would be “scared” of the attachments on that rifle. I think it is something I would like to take to the range some day.

Mr Bryant,
Good luck. “Lawfare” can be a bitch. Even (especially) when you’re innocent.

Cruz gets it. Proud of him.
