Boomer’s Sunday

Its time once again, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, for Boomer’s Sunday, where I cull through his weekly offering of ‘toons, and pick the best ten or so. Honorable Mention goes to my pal AW1 Scott, who also provides some entertainment. These are from the right, but I am more than willing to post up differing points of view if they don’t annoy me. Now what could be fairer than that? So here we are, with the ‘toons that may amuse, make you think, or just piss you off.

My Sunday Morning Laff. Muchly needed.

Tanks Boomer!

Ex-PH2

Typhus is loose in the streets of L.A. Feral cats can’t keep up with the rodents that carry the fleas that carry typhus.

I’m surprised (and thankful) that bubonic plague hasn’t made an appearance (that we know of).

Ex-PH2

I had a long discussion about such things with my sister, while she was still teaching pre-med students. I asked her what the probability is that real smallpox (not cowpox) is still out there in the wild in some small pocket some place. Her answer was “Very high. Just hasn’t been run into yet.”

And all those old graves from the Middle Ages that are excavated in Europe contain people who died of the Plague and smallpox, among other things. Those bugs don’t die. They just wait for opportunities.

Do keep in mind that almost everyone alive today is a descendant of folks who had the immune systems that defeated Yersinia Pestis, or at least survived it.

The bacterium is endemic to the US Southwest, and many other places. Cases turn up every year. As long as it doesn’t mutate in a major way, it is no longer a major pandemic item. It is still treatable with antibiotics.

Now, put a bunch of immuno-compromised people, or just plain low-health folks, into crowded and unsanitarybconditions loaded with vermin, and you may get a significant outbreak.

But we are unlikely to see a major global contagion, absent genetic mutation or tinkering.

Influenza is much, much more dangerous, and mutates rapidly enough to pose recurring pandemic threats. Despite the same “descended from survivors” effect of 1918, it is still far more virulent.

Smallpox is more of a wildcard. As a virus, it is much harder to fight. It has several variants, the least of which is quite lethal. The worst is epically lethal. It has been -absent- for a short while, but still many folks are from stock much winnowed by smallpox. Europeans, for example. And almost every family in the USA long term seems to wind up with at least some euro genes. Hybrid vigor is a thing. But that absence leads to skipping immunizations, and that leads to a loss of the herd immunity that previously protected populations.

And I seriously doubt it only lives in one lab each in the USA and former USSR. And who knows what maniac state-or-stateless-actor is saving a vial for his personal gotterdamerung scenario.

All of which is why I just shake my head over Leftist efforts to completely frack-up our healthcare system.

“Now, put a bunch of immuno-compromised people, or just plain low-health folks, into crowded and unsanitarybconditions loaded with vermin, and you may get a significant outbreak.”… would that be like a bunch of homeless drug addicts? Or maybe tens of thousands of folks from third world shitholes, that have had minimal if any healthcare all their lives??

11B-Mailclerk

Most of the recent immigrants are likely healthier, and cleaner, with immune systems more accustomed to serious ailments. The mental health category denizens of the homeless camps are often seriously deficient in personal hygiene and self medicating with who knows what. That doesn’t do great things for disease resistance.

The human waste everywhere is a serious issue, also. “Ticking time bomb” level serious.

The military obsession with cleanliness and hygiene comes from long and sad experience with “camp plauge”.

Once a serious illness gets going in those encampments, it will spread outwards.

Too often, the “slum” areas get written off by others. As long as things stay there, they are dismissed as “just expected”. Look how some folks simply dismiss the daily ‘hood bodycount as ” drug related” and thus not the fault of the folks running things. When some medieval illness long controlled here goes wild in these “camps” it will be excused and ignored until it crosses into the “elite” areas.

And they will never acknowledge how their policies and practices created the fire and fanned the flames. Nope. It will be someone else’s falt for not making their madness universal.

BRAVO! on the last ‘toon. Now where’s his running mate, Beavis?

Fyrfighter

Isn’t that Biden?

OldManchu

Robert has a face even the kindest of Mothers would like to punch.

Forest Green

A great example of why some animals eat their young.

The Other Whitey

A couple bits of wisdom I encountered elsewhere on this here interwebz chingaso. I wish I came up with them myself:

“If gender is nothing but a social construct, then…
there is no such thing as hyper and/or toxic masculinity,
it is impossible for there to be a gender wage gap,
there is no patriarchy.”

“If the Communist left don’t believe in biological gender then why do they march for ‘women’s’ rights?”

The Other Whitey

It’s telling how much the modern left still likes to lionize Woodrow Wilson. That guy was a disgusting racist piece of shit who personified everything they claim to oppose.

The resemblance between Beto O’Rourke and Butthead is certainly uncanny.

He said boner….

A Proud Infidel®™️

All Beatoff O’Rourke needs to do now is say “Uhh-huh-huh, huh-huh-huh…” during an appearance. He DID dress in drag when he was part of some punk band as well!

Graybeard

I ‘specially like the “Here’s to cheating…” one – may need to steal that.

That green challenger does use a battery and an electric motor.

At least a little use, anyway, when you start up that wonderful gas-guzzling V8. (Grin)

Fyrfighter

Sign doesn’t say electric, just “green”, and it fails to define what it means by that, so BZ to the driver of the Challenger for his creativity!
