14-Year-Old Shoots at Intrusion Suspects to Save Her Sisters

by AWR Hawkins
A 14-year-old Blaine, Kentucky, girl grabbed her family’s 9mm handgun and shot at intrusion suspects in order to save her sisters.

WSAZ reports that three teenage girls were alone at home when the intrusion suspects allegedly tried to make entry. They were alone because the father of the home was working and the mother “at the store.”

Two men allegedly pulled up in a car and one exited and “repeatedly tried to gain entry by trying to kick in the doors.”

The suspect then allegedly went into the backyard with a shovel, preparing to break out a window. The 14-year-old located a 9mm handgun and loaded it. She then noticed the suspect with the shovel and the driver of the car were allegedly arguing and she fired a shot in their direction.

Suspect shot during home invasion in west valley, police say

Gabriella Benavidez, Cassandra Mlynarek
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas Metropolitan police said a suspect was shot while trying to break into a home in the west valley on Wednesday.

According to police, officers were called to the 9300 block of West Desert Inn, near South Fort Apache Road, around 2:33 p.m. on August 7.

The shooting happened at the Regency at the Lakes apartment complex. Andrea, a woman who lives at the apartments and didn’t want to give her last name, said the suspected intruders robbed her place first.

“The detectives asked me to just see what was missing, and I did notice a few things that weren’t there anymore,” she said.

Despite only living in the apartment with her family for about a month, she said her downstairs neighbor took notice of the intruders.

“Our downstairs neighbor heard the commotion, and he knows that we’re not there during the day,” Andrea said.

She said her neighbor called the cops and armed himself. The suspected thieves then forced their way into his apartment downstairs.

Las Vegas police said one of the three suspects was shot by the homeowner after breaking open the door. He was was taken to University Medical Center Trauma for treatment, and is expected to survive.

Neighbors said the complex has had issues with crime.

“intrusion suspects”?? dahell?? Shouldn’t that be “alleged intrusion suspects?” I suspect that one reason Mr. Hawkins is an award winning writer is Webster’s has an award for the use of the most words in an article. /snark/ Good on young Miss Thang for protecting hearth and home.

Oregon homeowner missed a good chance to save the taxpayers some room and board money. Not sure on OR law, but down heah, you in my house/garage waving a big knife around, you WILL be terminated with extreme prejudice.

Odds were against the perps in Vegas. Maybe the shot one will get hisself a nice staph infection in the hospital, and the other two will get a case of food poisoning from the BTJ&T Deli.

In re the quote from Mr. Pitt; anyone else think it’s odd that demon rats are screaming for repatriations for slavery, but are working day and night to turn us all into slaves of socialism?

I’m glad to see a 14-year-old girl with enough presence of mind to take a pot shot at the intruder.

But yeah, she does need some practice with that thing.
