Homeowner shoots, kills man forcing his way into home

CRESCENT TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Allegheny County homicide detectives said a man was killed overnight after trying to force his way into a Crescent Township home.

Officers were called to a home along Starr Road just after midnight.

When officers arrived, they found Corey Laguardia, 22, shot in the doorway of the home.

Allegheny County investigators told Channel 11 Laguardia had been drinking and was dropped off in the area by a friend. Investigators said he showed up at the home because he thought a girl he knew lived there.

The homeowner told police he answered the door and told Laguardia he was at the wrong home and asked him to leave.

The homeowner called 911 and while he was on the phone with dispatchers, Lauardia began kicking and screaming at the homeowner to open the door, police said.

Police said Laguardia then started becoming more aggressive by kicking down the door and trying to get in. That’s when the homeowner pulled out a gun and shot him multiple times. Laguardia died at the scene.

Report: Warren convenience store clerk fires shot, intruder flees

By Mike Gauntner
A would-be armed robber at a Warren convenience store ran away after the clerk fired a shot in his direction, according to a police report.

The man working the counter at the Pit Stop on Youngstown Road SE told police that a man with a gun began crawling through the drive-through window just before midnight Monday.

The clerk says after he pulled his own gun from under the register and fired a shot, the intruder ran away.

Police say surveillance video shows the suspect pulls a gun out of his waistband before lifting the window.

After the clerk fired a shot, police say the suspect could be seen running toward Kenilworth Avenue.

Heading into mid week, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, we have an even split of one each DRT, inconvenienced, and in the wind. A sense of balance is always a good thing.

Tazed and shot, multiple times, before he realizes that he is in pain. Must be one hell of a powerful drug to make someone that damned stupid.

“a man was killed overnight after trying to force his way into a Crescent Township home”

This is what I look for in a FGS.
Clear cut good shoot everytime.
Be patient, let them kick the door in until they enter the zone of death.

So from what I see in the video: The idiot has a gun and refuses to cooperate with officers who keep telling him to keep his hands away from the gun. The 1st Officer switches to a Tazer when the other two arrive, and as the suspect decides to pull out his gun, the 1st officer activates the Tazer, which causes the suspect to involuntarily start shooting his pistol. At this point everyone backs up, and the suspect drops his pistol. I see Officer #1 fire two shots from his pistol as he backs up, but not sure if the other two fire, or those are ricocheted from the suspects shots striking him.
Either way, it was a real bad idea to try to draw a gun when three Officers are pointing guns and Tazers at you! The answer should have been…Yes officer, I am going to my knees now. There is a pistol in my back waist, please don’t shoot I am complying with your instructions. What do you want me to do now?

Pretty clear he wanted to get shot.

I like the Beretta in the above pic. I bought a 92F right after the Mil. bought them but mine was made in Italy and all the pins and everything else that held it together was metric so I ended up buying the metric tool kit from Brownells. There’s nothing like taking a good workable gun apart when there is nothing wrong with it as I was told by a few members of the Freeport Long Island NY Police range where I was a member of the range (civilian status). I bought two comp barrels so I could shoot as an unclasified shooter. Company said that the barrels should fit even though the gun was made in Italy with metric parts. He said that I should be able to just slap the barrels in. Wrong. A lot of unsuccesfull hours using Dychem dye and filing trying to fit them without touching the frame. I just gave up after awhile and still have the barrels.
