His Way of Saying “Thank you”

| May 26, 2019

A young man from Afghanistan, now in New York City, wants to thank US troops for helping him survive the Taliban and become a classical musician.

Born in a country where music was illegal and the Taliban could arrest you for having an instrument, a young Afghan boy dreamed of becoming a concert pianist. He owes the fulfillment of that dream, he says, to American troops. (Ben Murray / Military Times)  He survived depredations of the Taliban and ends up in NYC with a degree in music from Hunter College, and is now a concert pianist.

He does play a piece that he composed at the end of the interview video.

“…where music was illegal…” Another example, Larsie boi, of how good the American Way to freedom is the best. Did not know this. Bad enough they destroying history, beheading folks, rapine, pillage, burning alive, crucifying, but making music illegal? That right there is a good reason to take all them goat effing POSs out.

Looking at the above pic, I can say that the young man left afghanistan alive and thank God his goose didn’t get cooked when he lived there. Great to see people with a musical ear.

Love the ending of the video provided in the link.

Thank You, Ex-PH2, for sharing the link and the story.

Sometimes we need these type of stories to remind us that there IS good in the world…and that folks are indeed grateful,i.e. they look at a glass as being half-full.

And the best part? The young man extended a “Thank You” by ackowledging those who gave him the freedom to become a classical pianist.

He could had easily credited himself for his talent…but he didn’t.

Very commdendable.

Thank You again for that heart warming story.
