Brown agrees to send CANG to border

| April 12, 2018

The Hill reports that California Governor Jerry Brown has agreed to send about 400 National Guard troops to the Mexican frontier to help the Feds stem the flow of illegals into the US.

Brown formally accepted the funding in a Wednesday letter to Defense Secretary James Mattis and Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen. But the California governor also slammed Trump for his pursuit of a wall on the United States-Mexico border.

“But let’s be crystal clear on the scope of this mission,” Brown said in the letter.

“This will not be a mission to build a new wall. It will not be a mission to round up women and children or detain people escaping violence and seeking a better life. And the California National Guard will not be enforcing federal immigration laws.”

I’m sure that Governor Moonbeam feels better about himself after sending that letter. I guess he figures that those 400 troops will be enjoying an extended all-expenses-paid camping trip.

So what exactly will they be doing – handing out welfare chits, driver’s licenses, and voter registration cards?

A Proud Infidel®™

I’m sure that’s exactly what Governor Moonbat wants them to do as well as surrender their billets to any and all arriving illegal aliens.

Silly letter aside…the governor wisely backed down and did as he was told.

Has Jerry Brown been snookered?

Stay tuned.

Trannies on the border?

Sgt Fon

that’s only around the San Diego Naval base and in Tijuana 🙂

REM

The POS brown has as much say in the deployment of the Federalized Troops as did G Wallace of Alabama did in the Integration of the Alabama U. None. Also the fool governor of Oregon just got a wake-up call.

Club Manager, USA ret.

Spot on REM, those were my thoughts when the lez Oregon governor sprouted off.

MSG Eric

Yeah, they’ll get “funding” for it from DoD, which means that the NG troops and their unit will get about 45 dollars to use for this and the State of California will keep the rest of it.

Sgt Fon

after 9/11 when we were first mobilized for the airports, trains and power plants here in NY, it was a great deal. we were getting $125 a day x7 days a week with orders for a month at a time. 3875 a month was a great deal for an 8 hour shift, free food and a room w/room service at a hotel!

MSG Eric

I have a feeling this “money” won’t be the same type of money as 9/11 and they are more strict on how to spend money for troops doing special duty activities. 9/11 was a blank check for anything and everything. Now, the bean counters won’t even let you claim ten bucks for “laundry” on your travel voucher.

USMC Steve

Easy enough to fix – cut all checks to the commanding officer of the Guard, and payable only to him.

MSG Eric

The Cali NG HQ isn’t totally innocent in this though. I’ve had dealings with the Cali NG HQ in the past and they are just as ready to take money from DoD and other units and NOT use it where it is intended.

2/17 Air Cav

Yeah, it’s all about federal funding. Moonbeam accepts. Come on secessionists!

Was deployed to JTF Zia during Operation Jump Start til the end of ’06 around Las Cruces, NM.

Unfortunately, we did gather up [a lot of] women and children as they made their way across the border; with sacks of weed and a couple of gallons of water. It was heartbreaking as those were the ones who were trying to make a better life for themselves(IE; not living in Juarez) by dealing with the Wolves; who would help them get to America for a small fee, transport their drugs for them.

I still don’t know how to feel about the situation, as we never really detained anyone of significance; just “DREAMers.” Illegal aliens are still illegal and should be put before the laws of our Country but human sympathy does come into play.

Cheers,
MrFace

David

In libspeak DREAMers are kids brought here at an early age who have been here many years. What you were catching were illegals. Oh, and human smugglers are usually called coyotes. Minor clarifications.Lived there 15 years.

MrFace

I agree they were illegals and the mothers were carrying(not physically) their kids across the borders; hence the DREAMers.

Apologies on the terminology mistake. 🙂

But I digress.

Cheers,

The Other Whitey

Moonbeam knows he’s going to lose the sanctuary-state fight, so he’s cutting his losses.

I work with a lot of legal immigrants. Every last one of them is with Trump on his immigration policy. They all had to jump through hoops to immigrate legally and then more hoops to be able to work here. They don’t want freebies given out on immigration. It’s about the only thing they agree with Trump on.

Honestly, it’s rather amusing to listen to them all talk about the topic. For the most part, these people are all some of the nicest I’ve ever met. However, on the topic of illegal immigrants, they are downright vicious and don’t give a flying fuck about the DREAMers or other illegals.

Boot to the head…repeat as necessary until Constitution is once again protected.

I wouldn’t have called it going this way, but shouldn’t be surprised. When it came to a confrontation, Governor Brown was not willing to stand by his progressive convictions. In the stare down with President Trump, Brown blinked.

All the rest of the posturing by Choo-choo Jerry is a matter of saving face. He might want people to believe he will control what the California NG ultimately does, but it’s all bullshit. You’d need the IQ of a rutabaga to buy his claim, according to the AP, that the guard will be used strictly “to fight transnational criminal gangs and drug and firearms smugglers.” And to do so without getting involved in illegal immigration enforcement.

Meanwhile, another sign that Brown decided to bend over and grease up for the feds is that earlier this week he opted to endorse Dianne Feinstein’s re-election to U.S. Senate. Normally, such a thing might prompt a yawn except in this case Feinstein’s leading re-election opponent is Kevin de Leon who introduced and pushed the recent state sanctuary law. Feinstein has also not been endorsed by California’s central democratic committee, which makes Brown a heretic in the Church of Our Lady of Hipper-Than-Thou Liberalism.

The Other Whitey

It’s truly amazing how Feinstein, et al, keep getting re-elected. Drive up I-5 or Highway-99, and you’ll quickly lose track of all the signs announcing how popular she’s *not*.

Of course, I’ll shove my dick in a toaster before I vote for Dickless De Leon.

NHSparky

If only the people who will cast votes for deLeon stick their dicks and other reproductive appendages into toasters, the lack of progeny will allow California to return to some semblance of normalcy sometime this century.

Maybe.

I hadn’t heard that barefoot Jerry had endorsed granny Feinstein. Leftist Hobsons choice. Love to see the left eating its own, particularly in Ca.
As folks have pointed out, once the NG is federalized, their guvner doesn;t have jack to say about what they will doing. What a clueless nitwit. The Jesuits seemed to have dropped the ball on the boy. Or not… (little Catholic aside there)

11B-Mailclerk

As a testing the waters move, this NG deployment will very quickly show who is cheerfully obeying orders, and who foot-drags.

Purging the folks who might go over to the other side might prevent the conflict from ever happening, by preventing the formation of a credible force.

E4 Mafia For Life.

I can see gerald re-directing the money to his bullet suppository/train to build another 3 miles to nowhere.
