Rep. Tom Suozzi, D-N.Y. suggests 2d Amendment remedy for Trump

| March 19, 2018

Mick sends a link to Fox News which reports that Representative Tom Suozzi, D-N.Y., in a townhall meeting with his constituents that ther may be a 2d Amendment remedy for President Trump’s policies;

A New York Democratic congressman is being accused of promoting violence against President Trump after suggesting during a town hall that citizens may have to take up arms against the president if he doesn’t follow the law.

“I mean, this is where the Second Amendment comes in quite frankly, because you know, what if the president was to ignore the courts? What would you do? What would we do?” Rep. Tom Suozzi, D-N.Y., said during a March 12 Q&A session with constituents in Huntington, on Long Island.

Well, a 2d Amendment remedy won’t come from recently dis-armed New Yorkers. The legacy governor and his SAFE Act took care of that.

A spokesperson for Suozzi denied that the congressman was calling for “armed insurrection” against Trump.

“Taking a page from such great Americans as Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton, Congressman Suozzi explained why our founding fathers created the Second Amendment as a way for citizens to fight back against a tyrannical government that does not follow the rule of law,” senior adviser Kim Devlin said in a Monday statement to Fox News.

Devlin added: “To suggest his comments meant anything else or that he was advocating for an armed insurrection against the existing president is both irresponsible and ridiculous.”

Well, Mr Devlin, stating that there is a second amendment remedy is advocating an armed insurrection. Language matters.

Democrats in New York disarmed the citizenry while Democrats controlled the national government, will they now lift restrictions on firearms to take over the Republican government?

From Roll Call;

National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Chris Martin said the video was “incredibly disturbing.”

“It’s surreal to watch a sitting member of Congress suggest that his constituents should take up arms against the President of the United States,” Martin said.

Suozzi’s campaign forwarded a line from Thomas Jefferson advocating for such.

“What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms,” the quote reads.

Sounds like he’s advocating armed insurrection to me.

All enemies, foreign and domestic.

Especially applies to socialist congressmen from whacky blue NYS.

desert

That asshole is a traitor and promoting insurrection! They need to take him out and “2nd amendment” this stinking mistake of nature imho!!

How in hell does NY get so many? Is it the water?

Dominick

I’m in total agreement! These ass holes have to go!

Combat Historian

If Colt/Bushmaster/Armalite etc. now label their AR-15s as #THE TRUMP RESISTER, will they be allowed to sell them in NY, MA, NJ, MD, and Commiefornia?

A Proud Infidel®™

ONLY after those States collect extortion (*OOPS*, I mean taxes, Registration and License fees) on them.

Roh-Dog

What about us Nutmeggers?! Everyone seems to forget to add CT to the ‘Banned Evil Guns” States..

Fyrfighter

It is kinda amusing to see a Dim actually describe / explain the 2nd Amendment properly though… must have been tough for him to go through the gymnastics required to twist the guns are bad position into “unless they’re used against Trump”

Graybeard

I suspect it goes something like this:

“I am a Good Guy because I am a (D), therefore guns used against my policies are bad, in fact guns are generally bad overall. However, Trump is a Bad Guy because he is not a (D), therefore guns used against him are good.”

He would not like it if an armed citizenry exercised their 2nd Amendment rights against him.

Ex-PH2

I think he’d have apoplexy in my state. Here’s what the state Supreme Court decided, in regard to gun bans and parks.

https://www.nraila.org/articles/20180205/illinois-high-court-says-gun-ban-near-parks-unconstitutional

Since we have a lot of areas that are considered parks in this state, such as Shawnee National Forest and the local conservation areas, supporting such a ban means that hunting would become an illegal activity and the wildlife in this area in particular would overwhelm the human population in every possible way.

Graybeard

Maybe someone ought to remind Rep. Tom Suozzi, D-NY, that he himself is subject to 2nd-Ammendment-protected armed resistance for not following the law – especially the law providing that all citizens are entitled to the rights recognized by the Constitution of the United States of America?

Maybe if he had not joined the socialists in disarming law-abiding citizens, he might be a bit more circumspect in his suggestions. As it is, he may not like it when the rules he plays by are applied to him…

AW1Ed

I sure Representative Suozzi will be leading the charge against the armed Trump camp, right?

Riiiiight.

Bill M

He’d be that guy cowering behind the tree.

Graybeard

The tree on the other side of the horizon.

Ex-PH2

Why is it that I want to pronounce his last name as ‘snazi’ or ‘snotzi’?

OWB

Of course he is not advocating anything. Most lefties don’t believe that illegal behavior can be incited by a third party. Well, unless it’s someone advocating against them and their policies. (Just one more way in which they are hypocritical.)

A Proud Infidel®™

So it looks like he’s saying something like “Ooookay, guns are bad unless you use them against Trump, mmmmmmmmmmmmkay?”.

GDContractor

What’s next? A suggestion for a weak and limited central government?

ChipNASA

This boy ain’t too bright, is he??
*knock knock knock*

Yef

McFly! McFly!

David

Trump suggests the 2nd Amendment about Hillary and is excoriated. Suozzi suggests the 2nd against Trump and is OK. Move along, no hypocrisy here.

GDContractor

Actually, as I recall, Trump speculated that “maybe those Second Amendment guys…”.

Not sure I’ll ever figure out exactly what he meant by that, and I am one of those Second Amendment guys, along with the other 26.

David

I personally thought he was referring to the massive voting bloc gun-owners generally form, but that’s only because I listened to the context. And one of ’em.

11B-Mailclerk

Trump has very much become an orange political rorschach blot.

Many people see in him what they want to see. And, they brook no argument because they know what the blot really means.

Sometimes, a blot is just spashed covfefe.

Ex-PH2

There is nothing in the 2nd amendment that even vaguely infers such things.

If he thinks advocating armed insurrection is okay, then he should find out what it’s like to be a target, shouldn’t he?

How long will people snooze and put up with these power-mad, corrupt creatures before they wake up and realize they are being lied to constantly?

Oh, wait – I forgot: most of us are awake. It’s the Proggiefrogs who knock on my door and tell me they support progressive politicians that are in a coma. My bad.

Never mind.

AW1Ed

“It’s the Proggiefrogs who knock on my door and tell me they support progressive politicians that are in a coma. My bad.”

That’s because they are “woke,” a grammatical abomination that at least identifies the uneducated idiots that reside among us.

Ex-PH2

It’s part of the New Religion – where everything is fine. Everything is just fine. Nothing is wrong. Maintain an even strain.
It applies to everything that is blatantly stupid and useless.

2/17 Air Cav

“I mean, this is where the Second Amendment comes in quite frankly, because you know, what if the president was to ignore the courts?”

Yes, language matters, even the tiny little articles ‘the’ and ‘a.’ He didn’t say, what if A president; He said what if THE president. To me, and any discerning reader of those words, he is referring to Trump and, in context, I infer that he is suggesting that if Trump does not obey a court order, arms are to be brought to bear against him.

Thunderstixx

You just can’t make this shit up…
If the Second Amendment is used, it will be used to support President Trump, not overthrow him.
They are really grasping at straws now…

Jay

Sooooo……they want to take away guns when it serves the purpose….but want people to take up guns when it serves their purpose too? Do I have that right?

OWB

Simple logic suggests that he is calling for armed thugs to act as his army because under his rules, only criminals have gunz so they must be his audience.

The message for Suozzi should be that he is exemplifying exactly why sane people in this country wish to keep and bear arms – to defend against those he is calling to commit illegal acts of violence.

26Limabeans

What a smug mug. Did he choose that from the proofs or did the photographer?

A Proud Infidel®™

He’s smirking like he’s begging for someone to come along and hit him in the face with a shovel!

The Stranger

Dammit, I know I have that entrenching tool here somewhere.

Atkron

I don’t think there is one person (from the left) that thinks about the long term ramifications of the things they call for. The people they elect are just worried about staying in power, whatever the cost.

but the parrots/sheep just see short term, never the long game.

It is only a matter of time before we get a real dictator in office, and these cheese dicks are rushing to make it happen.

desert

We already had one, the illegal kenyan, communist, queer, most likely anti-christ obozo! imho

11B-Mailclerk

If Obama was really a dictator, why are you not in a camp?

Out of bounds? Certainly. Foolish? Demonstrably. But “dictator” is a bit much.

Dictator is hard work. Takes too much time away from golf.

The Other Whitey

Democrats hate armed citizens until they think they can sic those armed citizens on a Republican. Define “hypocrisy…”

TopGoz

So, the representative sees the Second Amendment as a remedy when the President ignores the courts? It seems to me the “representative” needs to go back and read the Consitution that he has sworn to uphold. Especially the parts about the co-equal branches of the government and about how the President doesn’t answer to the courts any more than they are answerable to him. Then he needs to review the part about the remedy for a President who violates the laws established by the Legislative branch. I would have thought that when Trump won the election that the Democrat party would have held a seminar on impeachment.

Ex-PH2

A seminar on impeachment? Why would they need to do that? Maxine Waters had a monopoly on that word, remember? Still didn’t get him impeached!

desert

So what? they impeached the perverted pedophile Bubba…he went right on with his diddling!

11B-Mailclerk

Folks, do -not- assume that the left is unarmed, is unwilling, or is unable to use violence to achieve their goals.

You may have noticed how often violent leftists stage armed struggle everywhere else. Armed struggle is a -presumptive- requirement of Marxist-Leninism, Maoism, and almost every other derivative form.

“Progressive” does -not- equal “pacifist”.

Rendering a society ungovernable by violent means is stock-in-trade of the Left virtually everywhere. They have tended to be fairly good at it. There is no reason to belive they would not repeat tried-and-true practices -here-.

Roh-Dog

^THIS!!! Look at the Bolshevik Revolution and Castro! GD violence is the last card in the deck they play after a group of them is martyred!
It’s the way of most revolutions…
That threat by Congressman Cockface, I beg you, with tears in my eyes, don’t. If you force the use of force it will be your ruination.
Signed, my CIB.

Graybeard

“Antifa”

The Weathermen

by golly, they do seem a rather unstable and violent bunch, do they not?

Ex-PH2

You left out the SDS and Weather Underground.

David

Last card? More like first.

11B-Mailclerk

For the hard core Marxist, it is what they can get away with, and when they can get away with it.

To the doctrinaire Marxist, the fall of the Soviet Union simply proves they did not try hard -enough-, with the right people in charge.

Progressivism is a derivation. It is not purified of the violent and insane root of Marxism, merely an ignorant heresy for many useful idiots and a camouflage for the dedicated.

Refute it. Resist it. Defeat it.

Ex-PH2

Maybe DTrump could drop in on Suozzi during a session of the House and say “Are you threatening me, you son of a bitch?”

How many more of these idiots are going to run their mouths like this?

Roh-Dog

Pay per view that isht!

Graybeard

Best thing to do is ignore an idiot that Suozzi, do not even dignify him with a response.

Let the Secret Service investigate him, though…

Ex-PH2

Yes, but Graybeard, I would confront him and the slap the crap out of him, because I am not someone who takes such things lightly.

And no one in government should take lightly what he said. Sometimes, the arrogance these people run on will betray them and their intentions better than anything else.

desert

If the moron was worth the powder to blow him up, he would not have said such an idiotic thing in the first place, the man has a major disconnect, his elevator doesn’t go all the way to the top and he is NOT the sharpest knife in the drawer imho

Graybeard

Oh, I’d want to, Ex-PH2, I’d sure want to.

Near about did apply a corrective beat-down to a New York boy, years ago, for something similar until our supervisor intervened and said “No blood, [GB], no blood.” He knew the boy needed it, but that it would get be fired, regardless.

He had a long talk with the boy to explain to him, in great detail, why what he’d said about me was not a very intelligent thing to do.

Steve1371

That would be great!

E4 Mafia For Life.

Well since democrats and libs are all about disarming and most likely have a lot less firearms, they can take up their sporks and letters of admonishment and have at it.
I don’t think I will even have to open my safe and dirty my firearms.
I have a No. 10 iron skillet that I can use as well as an F250 Super Duty. Those Prius won’t stand a chance.
Also, AR-15’s give them PTSD and fracture their limp wrists like their hero Cuntsman.

Ex-PH2

Can a Prius be disabled with a strong enough magnet?

HMC Ret

Is the douche comparing himself to Jefferson? Typical wishy-washy Democrat bullshit. Says one thing but then denies it means what it means. Pussy.

Ex-PH2

No, he understands nothing about Jefferson or what he wrote and left behind. Like any other parasitic organism that has latched onto the bloodstream of the host, he will feed until he is washed away by a good, solid vermifuge.

desert

Or a strong sewer flush LOL 😉

Ex-PH2

When is this asshole going to be called on the carpet for what he said? When?

If you or I said such things, we’d be getting visits from sourfaced suits. So when does THIS overprivileged asswipe get one of those visits?

Ex-PH2

I hope that this turns into what was properly described in the 16th century:

…like the engineer, hoist with his own petard*.

*For the uninformed, a petard was a mine used by sappers in warfare, so the phrase means ‘blown up by his own explosive mine’.

That is all.

11B-Mailclerk

So, he made a next generation “petard maneuver” ?

Ex-PH2

Maybe ‘next generation REtard maneuver’?

This jackwagon likes to hear himself talk. I’d bet that if you sat and stared at him for about 20 minutes and said nothing, he’d be melted jell-o in 10.

Rosalee A Adams

I make it a habit to never dignify horse manure
Suozzi reeks of its putrid odor.

Graybeard

Hey, horse manure is a perfume.

Pig manure, on the other hand, is putrid.

Graybeard

I should add: …perfume to a Texas boy raised around horses and cattle.

When my son was deployed to Iraq, the smell of cattle reminded him of home – a sweet aroma.

Perry Gaskill

Long Island’s version of a big-hat no-cattle loud mouth.

Consider the source. Suozzi was narrowly elected to Congress and took office in January 2017. Just about enough time to find the office bathroom. There is no military or law enforcement experience in his background. And that makes his chances to lead an armed ouster of President Trump somewhere between slim and none.

Which, when you think about it, is likely the main point. It’s been my experience that people like Souzzi don’t usually lead from in front. Instead, he’d probably be happy to see others take up arms, but is one of those least likely to actually put himself in jeopardy.

This also seems fairly typical of the broader so-called “resistance” still butt-hurt because Hillary lost. The reality is they don’t really have the huevos to physically fight about anything; they’d rather talk us all to death.

rgr769

New efing Yawk. Need we say more. Consider the source. He is just the latest D-rat version of proggie pajama-boi.

11B-Mailclerk

I would worry more, but most of the “resistance” is whining and sniveling like toddlers.

OWB

Problem is that those toddlers age quickly and become more destruction as they grow – unless someone trains them to be otherwise.

HMC Ret

I am so tired of gotcha politics. I believe the only resolution to this insanity may very well be armed revolt, of which I am NOT a proponent. I’m simply sick of this shit!

2/17 Air Cav

Revolt? No. Wholesale removal of all Prius and Subaru owners, anyone who admires Michael Moore, illegal immigrants (starting with the parents of so-called anchor babies) and those who have been here 10 or more years and have a job, and anone who watches Democracy Now more than once.

2/17 Air Cav

I need to add that anyone who drives a vehicle with a COEXIST, Practice Civility, or Practice Random Acts of Kindness, No Farms No Food, or Buy Local has to go too.

2/17 Air Cav

Key words: bumper sticker

Docduracoat

I use my Subaru Outback to transport my firearms, shooting buddies, and our ammo, moving targets and steel targets down a dirt/ mud road to my secret shooting spot in the Everglades
As for the Democrats, maybe now they can see why the people need to own
“ weapons of war” like AR 15’s
So they can shoot at tyrants when the time comes
Let us hope that time never comes

Ex-PH2

Yeah, well, you still need a camp cook, Doc.
