Sunday morning feel good stories
From Hillsborough County, Florida;
Hillsborough County deputies are investigating the fatal shooting of an intruder in a Lakeland home.
According to deputies, two elderly homeowners were awakened by 33-year-old Shane DeShane in their home at 5436 Deeson Rd., north of Plant City, when the male resident shot DeShane.
Deputies are conducting interviews and searching the scene.
From Detroit, Michigan;
16-year-old Xavier Futrell walked into a west Detroit gas station with a gun Sunday morning and tried to take Darius Summers’ gun. Thinking he was an easy target, Futrell stuck his gun in Summers’ back.
“I said, ‘All I want to do is leave,'” Summers said. “He said, ‘You can’t leave.’ I said, ‘OK. What do you want to do?'”
As the teen took control, Summers pulled his gun and shot Futrell twice in the stomach. The boy picked up his gun, which he had dropped, and limped out of the store.
Summers, who said he had just received his concealed carry license, said he never shot a gun before, but wasn’t shooting to kill Futrell, but “shot to save his life.” He said as a grandfather, he spoke to the teen as if it was his own grandson.
From Mesa, Arizona, a new strategy to scare off thieves; shoot yourself;
A spokesperson for Mesa police tells 12 News that a man showing up for work at Cindy’s Café was confronted outside the business by an armed assailant. The victim then pulled out his own handgun in order to defend himself.
Police believe that gun went off accidentally striking the man in the leg. The armed robber ran off.
The incident is under investigation. The victim is expected to survive his injury.

“Shane DeShane”
Not to be confused with Shane D. Shane
Well he is not ‘A” Shane no more.
“had just received his concealed carry license, said he never shot a gun before”
Michigan? What was it an online course?
Talk about conserving ammo!
When the only time you ever fired a weapon was into your enemy. Saves a ton of range time and weapons cleaning!
definitely not an anti-gunner but this adds fuel to their resistance to national reciprocity. There should be some minimum standards for any carry, concealed or open, lest next time Grandpa shoot his own grandson.
Set standards, let each state do what they want (training courses, range fire, licensing) but at least make sure those carrying are not a menace to anyone other than their targets.
There is. You have to do an 8 hour course with range time instruction. So either he’s lying about never shooting a gun or he found some shit CPL instructor. More government regulations is not the answer. It’s bad enough you have to spend money for the course to use a civil right then pay an additional fee on top of that for the state. Imagine that shit flying anywhere else for civil rights it would be rightfully called out.
Or his statement about never having shot before was in reference to shooting a person as contrasted with shooting a paper target. Just trying to think of all of the possibilities.
I shoot myself just to get pumped up for a good fight.
Tis but a scratch…
A mere flesh wound.
Have at you!!!
Guns do not go off by accident unless one pulls the trigger on same or a possible defect, which I doubt in this case.
10000:1 Glock leg…..
