Thursday morning feel good stories
Donald sends us a link from Little Rock, Arkansas, where Nathaniel Carter, 24, and David Stricklin, 50, two Pizza Hut employees were making a deposit at the local bank. They were approached by Cornell James Drones, 35, and Anthony Michel, 40 who tried to rob the pair. Drones dropped his firearm, Cater recovered the gun and employed it shooting Drones several times. Drones fled in his vehicle and then collapsed nearby. He was pronounced DOT (dead over there) at the hospital.
In Germantown, Tennessee, George Jinkins and Jaylin Pritchard got into a firefight with an armed homeowner when he busted them stealing from his property. No one was hurt, but both are in custody.
In Manchester, New Hampshire a store clerk fired his weapon at an armed thief, who got away with the loot anyway.. Police aren’t sure if he was injured in the gunfire.

That was awfully kind of the thug to lend his gun to the victim. It’s usually better to bring your own though. Not all criminals are so kind in sharing.
Yeah, well, a lot of pizza joints aren’t very accommodating with their employees. As in, “You get caught with a gun on the job, you’re fired!”
“I’d rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.”

Clinton library employees
Someone had a personal weapon in New Hampshire? That’s good to know.
(Shamelessly cut and pasted)
“You need a license to carry a loaded gun either in your car, or concealed on your body, in the state of New Hampshire. To carry a loaded gun out in the open, you don’t need a license at all. That makes New Hampshire one of 28 states that allow so-called “open carry” to just about anyone, no permit or license needed.”
Straight up, about the only thing I see wrong (other than the thief robbing the place) is the clerk shooting at the thief as his back is turned and leaving the premises. The thief is no longer a threat, and the clerk could have been possibly been prosecuted for his actions if he had wounded or killed him. I’m sure the clerks adrenaline is running high, but no need to waste your life in jail/prison because of a useless piece of crap.
New Hampshire has one of the lowest rates of murder or crimes involving guns in the US, probably because of their open/concealed carry laws.
That depends on where you live.

Texas Penal Code § 9.42. Deadly Force to Protect Property
I’m not saying it would be worth the legal troubles that would follow. I’m not saying I would personally use deadly force at the point the “thief has his back turned and is leaving the premises…”
But I often wonder about the thief “who is no longer a threat.” What if the shitbags success emboldens him and there is a next time where he decides to kill instead of just rob? I don’t know. Just a thought.
Joe Horn pushed the extreme limits of Texas Penal Code § 9.42 and really put it to the test in 2007 and the grand jury cleared him. It certainly changed his life though. I’m personally glad that he dropped the perps dead. Thanks Joe.
I worked with Joe for many years, it really did screw up his life! He was only protecting his neighbors property and they tried to put him in prison for it. It cost him a shitload of money just to keep out of prison! They didn’t have a gofund me deal back then. He still suffers from the ordeal!
Wow. I knew just from the outside looking in via news stories that he suffered greatly. I hope the best for him as time goes on. I support the decision he made but I wish the effects on his life supported it as well.
OldManchu, I wasn’t aware of the Joe Horn story. Interesting to say the least.

Yes very interesting. Puts quite a check valve on the “I’d shoot there ass” mindset that I had in my younger years.

Coffee shortage again. 🙂
Wilted Willy: If Joe started a Go Fund Me petition today to get out of the debt I know he acquired protecting himself, I would gladly contribute. If you still have contact with him, perhaps mention it. If he does start a fund, let us know, OK?
I also would support him. Any one who defends his neighbors property as well as him self in worth every thing as a neighbor. Not to many of these people left these days.
I don’t think it has to be Joe that starts it–it could be someone who knows him.

Cheese and crackers got all muddy!!
I need more “bean” in my coffee before I begin typing this early in the morning.
Me too on the bean! Ha.
DERP DERP SAID THE PERP. “Drones dropped his firearm, Cater recovered the gun and employed it shooting Drones several times.” Well how did that work out for you scumbag? SAM = Stiff At Morgue. His buddy gets a murder charge as well. “Stands up and claps”.
