ISIS kills priest in Normandy
French president François Hollande blames ISIS for an attack that happened in a French church in Normandy overnight according to the Irish Times;
Two men armed with knives burst into the Catholic church in Saint-Etienne du Rouvray, in the southern suburbs of Rouen, during morning Mass on Tuesday. They took five hostages: the priest, two nuns and two parishoners. A third nun escaped and raised the alert.
The Rapid Intervention Brigade (BRI) arrived within minutes from Rouen, surrounded the church and closed off the area. The hostage-takers came out of the church and were shot dead in the forecourt.
When the commandos entered the church, they found the priest dead with his throat cut. Another hostage was critically wounded.
The article says that no one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, but that Hollande says that the attackers claimed allegiance to ISIS before their demise.

Wow. Calling a spade a spade before media states it. Balls out, Frog. Balls out.
Yeah, for once.
It appears that Daesh has now claimed responsibility.

Tell me when Merkel in Germany snaps out of it, okay?
Soon, I imagine.
Her folks are getting pissed with her “open-arms” policy.
She’s driving the clown car. She has ruined Germany.
We can only hope.
Why Merkel is so blindly insistent, in the face of what ISIS and Turkey are doing, is beyond me.
You got that right.
I don’t understand her motivation. In the face of overwhelming evidence that those raghead scum are raping German women at every opportunity, that the scum are economically and socially destroying Germany, she maintains her ‘open border/open door’ policy. I’m surprised she’s still in office. For the life of me I don’t get it. However, for comparison, look to the dimwits in DC and the(mostly) Democrat governors who have the same policy. Well, at least I know why the Democrats adopted this policy: VOTES. Make them citizens with voting rights and, viola, Democrat President, a majority of governors and probably at least the Senate and maybe the HoR. Follow the votes and follow the money. This may very well be the last Presidential election in which the outcome will be in doubt prior to voting day. Register several million additional people, the vast majority of whom will almost certainly vote Democrat, and the outcome is not in doubt. How many illegals are presently here who will become eligible for citizenship? Several million of voting age I’m thinking. The first responsibility of heads of state is to protect their citizens. Or, it once was. Now?
Doc,
Merkel’s current attitude/perspective/motivation regarding the “asylum-seekers” may be attributable in part to the fact that she grew up as the daughter of a Lutheran pastor behind the wire in the former East Germany (Deutsche Demokratische Republik). As such, she may have a deep personal aversion to placing restrictions on the movements of “refugees” as they try to flee from untenable areas of conflict, oppression, etc. This in turn may have influenced her decision to welcome them into Germany with open arms, which while probably genuinely well-intended, has also been proven to be extremely unwise.
I know that none of us here agree with Merkel’s decisions (I certainly do not, and I am not defending her), but we may be able to gain an insight into why she may have decided as she did when we consider her East German background.
Thanks, Mick, that explains a bit. Appreciate the feedback.
One small glitch in that theory. Most women are sensitive and responsive to female attack. She’s not. Why?
I think Pinto Nag’s question does deserve an answer, because I don’t have one, but I will echo hers: why doesn’t Merkel respond to the repeated attacks on women?
Because she was a young member of the East German women’s swimming team, and as a result of all that testosterone injected into her pre-pubescent body, she no longer identifies as a woman.
It could’ve happened that way.
Ex-PH2:
That question may very well indeed deserve an answer, but I’m sorry, I’m not a spokesman for Angela Merkel, and I don’t have an answer for you or Pinto Nag on the question of Merkel’s lack of response to the repeated attacks on females in Germany. Your guess is as good as mine as to why she’s not responding decisively and aggressively to that very egregious problem.
In my post above, I was addressing HMC Ret’s comment on her ‘open border/open door’ policy. As I said in my post, I do not agree with anything that Merkel is doing (or not doing in the case of the attacks on women), I am not defending her, and I am not trying to develop any kind of “theory” in an attempt to justify or excuse her actions and/or inactions on any given issue.
I was simply pointing out that we may gain some measure of insight into her decision-making process regarding refugees and asylum-seekers by considering her East German upbringing and enculturation and how those experiences may influence the way that she sees the world (i.e. it’s not unreasonable to think that she may not like the idea of walls, concertina wire, and government restrictions on personal movement). From my perspective, seeking to understand the reasoning behind decisions does not in any way imply that one agrees with those decisions.
Semper Fi.
I bet Trane, Carrier, or even MCQuay takes responsibility…after all they are all just as dangerous as ISIS.
Since most AC’s are now made in Mexico, this sounds like a reason for Kerry to support Trump and his wall.
I think they recently combined to form ACIS – the Air Conditioned Islamic State.
Horrible humor, but does this also count as a Mass murder?
That’s fucked up, dude.
Lol. Nice.
No, Rouen. Ste Etienne de Rouvray.
Nice is further south on the coast.
Lol. True. Wow. Compounding jokes.
I just wanna say that, even though I mostly lurk on here, I’m so very proud to associate with you twisted bastards. Makes it so much easier to get through the day.
Yep there are some warped minds here. I like it.
Yep, a bunch of lowlife miscreants, coming here to vent and associate. A little BS stuff, some serious stuff, some poser bashing stuff and some WTF stuff, and I’m good to go. And I gotta tell you, seeing valor thieves get hammered would be worth an admission cover charge. But no, it’s FREE. And as a bonus, PH2 makes sammiches on Friday. Oh, concerning the price of admission, maybe throw some bucks Jonn’s way on occasion. It costs to run this blog.
Indeed. To anyone that hasn’t, I will go one step further and suggest setting up a recurring Paypal donation. It’s easy as hell and it helps the heroes of the SV Wars on here by giving them a more certain revenue stream.
Well, very serious, horrific topics. Seems to be the best way to contend with it is a bit of mirth, humor, and generalized “f@ck it, what next”?
Not saying it is the best formula, but it beats the CNN fear-mongering.

Naw – the humor is at the expense of Christians, so no foul here.

Good one
For some reason, I’m reminded of the Graignes Massacre in June 1944, where a French priest and several nuns were murdered by the Waffen-SS for providing shelter and medical aid to wounded American paratroopers, who were also murdered by the stormtroopers. Sometimes it’s tough being a priest in France. God bless them.
Funny how I haven’t noticed any stories about Catholics breaking into mosques and killing imams/mullahs during their services.
Think it’s about time the French did?
I’ve gotta reach back more than 20 years for the first example that comes to mind of something comparable:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cave_of_the_Patriarchs_massacre
I remember this. A grievous day …
Sick bastards. In a church, of all places.
It is a spiritual as well as a physical war.
Eschatology studies are up in churches, I hear.
I’m not a 100% convinced yet, but the times do appear to be lining up for the main event.
We will see.
They don’t even respect their own houses of worship, so while I am disgusted, I ain’t surprised. Motherfuckers.
The final disposition of the shitbags seems to indicate that at least some of the Frogs are really getting sick of this shit.
I would sh!+ the proverbial brick if the French were the first to get a step over the “F@ck it”-line and get proactive with Intel and security actions.
Afterwards, I reserve the right to call the Germans a pack of PC, procrastinating pu$$ies.
Here’s the UK Independent story about the shots fired at a Berlin hospital. The shooter shot a doctor and then turned the gun on himself. Must have been a bad diagnosis or something.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/germany-hospital-berlin-shooting-latest-updates-gunman-shots-fired-doctor-patients-a7156471.html
That article does have a sidebar list with all the things that have happened in Germany in July that are terrorist-related. I want to know when Angela Merkel is going to snap out of it and send those bastards back where they came from.
Expect her to propose new gun controls, you know, for the buh-bu-BAYBIES
Yep. Thanks! Looks like some old wacko offed himself and his doctor.

I would open a really good bottle of Beaujolais Villages if they did that.
Ah, I knew we had a connection, PH2. My wife and I discovered Barton & Guestier’s Beaujolais Villages forty years ago when we lived in New Orleans. We could buy it at Schwegmann’s for less than $3.00 a bottle back in those days.
It became our favorite and we’ve been drinking it ever since. Had a bottle last night with a thick, rare New York Strip. And yes, it costs about six times what it used to but it’s still much less expensive than many of those over-priced California reds and easily worth it.
I highly recommend it to any of you who like red wine with your meal.

You got a problem with Two Buck Chuck?
No, they don’t care about their own places of worship. ISIS destroyed Nabi Yunus Mosque. It was believed to be the burial place of Jonah from the Jonah and the whale story. Can’t say as I’m too sad, minus the historical value, to see it go since I’ve had to dump a couple magazines of rounds into it because the fuckers were shooting at me from it.
Remember when they invaded Mali and destroyed 2 libraries holding centuries-old manuscripts, as well as a tomb that held a lot of important graves?
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/jan/28/mali-timbuktu-library-ancient-manuscripts
One of those tombs had some kind of curse on it – destroy it, and you’ve opened the gate at the end of the world, or something like that.
If they want a war this badly, then they should get what they want, shouldn’t they?
Let’s also not forget the Taliban’s destruction of the “Bamiyan Buddhas”, multi-story tall statues of him carved into cliffsides that were centuries old but the GMIC’s (Goat-Molesting Fleabags In Charge) labeled them as “Idols” and prdered them destroyed.
We may see the Froggies as kind of lackadaisical about some things, but per this from Agence France Presse, they are NOT pussyfooting around the reality of it.
https://www.afp.com/en/news/15/french-priests-throat-slit-claimed-attack
However, if they don’t snap out of this coma they’ve been in for a while, they’re doomed to spend far too much time cleaning up instead of stopping these attacks before they happen. ISIS is beginning to claim any lone wolf attack, also, which makes it even harder to track and stop. ISIS is still calling it the Crusaders’ Coalition.
If you look at the banner at the top of the page I linked to, you’ll see something about shots fired at a Berlin hospital.
The priest was an 84-year-old man, Jacques Hamel.
They just had to pick someone they viewed as helpless, didn’t they?
ISIS is populated by cowards and nothing else. This is why they don’t have a ‘front’ or a ‘line’.
Absolutely. That’s why raping kids and oppressing women comes standard. Part of the deal. And people wonder why they are “disenfranchised” in countries the evacuate to and then expect people to speak their language, feed them, cloth them, and bend to their needs. And, no, they’ll never have a front line. Fighting an enemy on even ground is never part of their reasoning.
That, but sh!++y target selection. If you’re going to make a statement, why a church during less-than-packed hours? And with knives? What? Guys just couldn’t hold their wad long enough to procure firearms? Just odd.
Shock value.
These are the same types who destroy any historical artifacts that don’t prescribe to their specific ideological history. A church is an easy choice target for them to hit.
Time for LGOPS yet?
Hmmm. Maybe.
Mustard stains for everybody!!
Don’t say that too loud…… I know plenty of folks that would squee and beg for the chance….
I’m one of them. Making a difference, killing the enemies of Civilization, and a mustard stain ta boot?

Well played!
(Takes bow) I try to know my Clancy.
Makes sense. This is a war by Muslims and going after the clerics and religious of other faiths makes sense. It discourages non-Muslims from practicing their faith and, at the same time, kills off those who dedicated their lives to that faith. Of course, persecuting Christians has been tried before. It didn’t work out so well.
But such a low quantity. Sure, you wacked an enemy cleric in public AND in their home country, but if you want to make an example of an important sect of the enemy, why just a knife attack away from the hot spots for the faith? If they were that hellbent on giving Christians the finger, Vatican City should be a f@cking crater. Not some po-dunk church 2 miles past BFE, France.
Don’t mistake this for an endorsement. I am once again glad the ISIS fan club is full of nothing but goathumping idiots and Sandbox inbreeds. Just the strategy and selection of targets is silly.
The muzzies don’t attack Vatican City because of the Swiss Guard. Need I say more?
And they have a really big wall. Even if the Pope thinks building a wall anywhere else is a bad thing.
I agree with Eric. The wall and design will prevent rags from getting to the Pope’s mancave better than 180 dudes in tights with Sigs.
The wall will prevent them from getting in. 180 dudes in tights with Sigs will keep them from getting away.
That, and throw in the humiliation of getting their ass kicked by a bunch of Swiss dudes dressed up like they’re at a gay costume party.
Got my vote. But they probably won’t try to get out. Trio of carbombs to get the barriers out of the way and a final “Lebanon special” up the middle for finishing.
They’ll wait for a special holiday, one which draws huge crowds, such as Christmas, and blow the barriers, then bring in the big stuff.
But then, I’m a cynic about this, you see, so I put nothing past them.
Bethlehem needs to gun up
It may have been an aberration or we may soon see that it is hot-listed as trending. I hope that you are correct and that it was an oddity.
Doesn’t discourage me, AirCav. It may just send me back to the early Rite 1 mass. That means getting up at 6AM on a Sunday and dressing in something besides jeans and tee shirts, and then afterward, go out for pancakes and sausages.
Do not forget the head cover! Doilies will do in a pinch.
“go out for pancakes and sausages.”

Ok. So Hollande calls one right, immediately. And the perps involved are dead, immediately.
So, now what?
I’m hoping (against hope) that Hollande will next call for an uprising of the French people to physically drive all muzzies, men and male children, to the ocean. Let ’em swim home. And raid all mosques. Nothing but snake pits and weapons caches.
The numbers, for now, favor the Frenchies. If they wait any longer, not so much.
And I have doubts now that Merkel will do anything other than whimper.
And open the doors wider.

This is the country whose national anthem is “La Marseillaise”, one of the bloodiest national anthems in the world. Time to start singing it on every street corner, every home, every shop, every citizen. Then pick up whatever is handy and take action.
There is an HL Menken quote that sums this up, but really, REALLY would work as a great response to it
Spill!
“There comes a time, when a man just has to spit on his hands, raise the black flag, and start slitting throats…” H.L. Menken
I thought so.
Now would be a good time to smoke-check some of the ME based leadership as a rebuttal
About sums it up, don’t it?
Ironically, the Marseillaise was originally dedicated to the military governor in the Marseille area – who was a German merc. (He had been in the French King’s pay for some time, but the king stiffed him – so he crossed over to fight for the revolutionaries instead. (Source – “The Sea Devil” by Felix von Luckner and Lowell Thomas.)
Anthem or prophecy?
La Marseillaise – English lyrics
Arise children of the fatherland
The day of glory has arrived
Against us tyranny’s
Bloody standard is raised
Listen to the sound in the fields
The howling of these fearsome soldiers
They are coming into our midst
To cut the throats of your sons and consorts
Well, we know the next vers won’t happen:
To arms citizens Form your battalions
March, march
Let impure blood
Water our furrows
What Arms?
I blame De Gaulle. His assholery is still being felt. If LeClerc (who was a natural-born asskicker) had been their head honcho, it would’ve prevented a lot of problems.
Hadn’t thought about that. I just hate him for the airport named for him. The way that sh!+hole ruins my every trip through the area, I honestly go through Amsterdam, any more.
Well, yeah! It’s named after De Gaulle! What, did you think it’d be convenient, or nice, or have friendly customer service? They named it after an asshole whose ego made Napoleon Goddamn Bonaparte look downright meek in comparison, and run the airport accordingly.
The Pope is quoted as calling it ‘absurd violence’. I kid you not. I think he should be fired and Pope Urban recalled from his grave.

Time for the Frenchies to face reality: MARINE LE PEN Presidente 2017 !!!
Here’s a set of updates. There is also a picture of the priest giving a mass. He appeared to be quite elderly. These scumbags always target first those they see as helpless and/or unable to resist.

N.B.: the US government has condemned the attack in ‘the strongest possible terms’. Yes, that’s real leadership, isn’t it?
Also note that one Italian priest has asked the Pope to put the French priest on the fast track to sainthood.
They filmed it… There is a link out there to a UK media story, I will not share it. They made him kneel, and executed him. You DO NOT go after Priests. I am not Catholic, I am a Protestant, but I have Viking blood in me, and this makes that boil, and want to consider the Old Gods in their ways of payback
I am Catholic, of Irish descent (which means I carry a bit of Viking rapist DNA as well), and I’m fucking pissed.
I’m with ya, cousin
Beaten for cause every few weeks by the good sisters. 6th grade was particularly rough. It all started in first grade. An older kid (in 2nd or 3rd grade!) was picking on me so I punched him in the gut. He threw up and the next thing I knew I was being taken by one ear down the hallway, on my tippy toes, to the principal. Ah, the good old days.
A few ruler swats over the knuckles never hurt anybody. Was a good attention getter however….

#Santsubito!
Is this the process of Sainthood?
Well, the poor fellow is dead so step #1 is complete.
If he’s put into the list of martyrs, then yes. And for martyrs, only one miracle after beatification is required for sainthood.
If Pere Hamel was born in 1930, he was 9 years old when the Nazis began their stampede through Europe. He managed to survive WWII. I just wonder where it goes from here.
Meanwhile, Mars is moving from Scorpio to join Saturn in Sagittarius – a sign of war, maybe. Something is definitely in the wind.

Didn’t Sarkozy pull the French military out of Afghanistan in order to appease the Muslims? I wonder how that’s working out for him?
Heh.
It’s at the end of that brief poem:
“…and those who cried ‘Appease, appease’
Were hanged by those they sought to please.”
N.B.: the US government has condemned the attack in ‘the strongest possible terms.’
For the lackey in the White House, that means cutting short a golf game, finding a mic, podium and teleprompter, and muttering some bullshit that has little bearing on what actually happened.
And will The Slacker in Chief go to the funeral of a decent human being who was murdered for nothing? No, of course not. It doesn’t fit in with his notions of what he should do with his time.
“One of the extremists who stormed into the church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray near Rouen during mass was a French 19-year-old named Adel K., who was being monitored by electronic tag after twice attempting to join fanatics in Syria.”

It seems the French would rather keep apprentice terrorists in France than let them go somewhere and risk their precious lives. How can the chickens come home to roost if you never let them leave?
Your words for the day are;
1) ” surreal;

2)Facepalm;
” The gesture is found in many cultures as a display of frustration, disappointment, exasperation, embarrassment, horror,[2] shock, surprise, exhaustion, sarcasm or incredulous disbelief.”
Yeah, I was scanning cmts to see if anyone noted that ankle bracelet thingy and–you win. Is that f’ed up or what? The MMB (Murdering Muslim Bastard) was a known or suspected threat and was being electronically monitored. “Oh lookie, Pierre. MMB is going to church. Isn’t that nice. Maybe he converted.”
Why do I think the French Rapid Reaction Brigade is never going to be “rapid” enough?
What gets me is how when I deployed to Kosovo with the 101st airborne in year 2000 we didn’t have any Muslims trying to kill us. The Albanians weren’t forcing their women to cover their faces or anything like that. We had Albanian children bring us a land mine that they found in the road on one of our patrol routes.
Even before we invaded Iraq I don’t recall Saddam ever having Muslims in his country blowing themselves up in protest against his rule.
It seems that after the invasion of Iraq that Muslim Clerics must have started preaching Jihad and telling their followers it’s good to kill themselves. Why didn’t they preach that before the invasion?
The only place I recall that type of behavior happening before the invasion was in the PLO area of Israel.
So what the hell happened and why can’t we just shut these crazy Imam’s down who preach Jihad?
I don’t think freedom of religion applies here with these Imam’s in America. We wouldn’t allow the Aztecs to build a pyramid, cut people’s hearts out and eat the bodies. If it’s a constitutional issue I think we can safely just approve of the religions that were allowed at the time in 1776.
I agree, but I don’t consider this to really have anything to do with freedom of religion. It’s more along the lines of using religion as a political excuse to destroy your opposition.
“Even before we invaded Iraq I don’t recall Saddam ever having Muslims in his country blowing themselves up in protest against his rule.” Well, that’s partly because they knew that after they blew themselves up, every one of their relatives, friends, acquaintances, and neighbors would be mercilessly tortured—one in front of the other–until, after agonizing days of pain, each expired.
Perfect response..
“We surrender.”
bang, bang.
Oh! They said “We surrender?” My bad. Must have been the Corduroy in their pants that made it sound like “We won’t surrender!”. Sorry, boss. Guess we’ll have to fill out toe tags instead of arrest reports.
And after the bang, bang, just a little paperwork and a cleanup. Saves all that trial paperwork, and appeal paperwork, and the whining by the idiots that they were just misunderstood, were abused by the neighbor, couldn’t find a job, etc.
Remember the end of “End of Watch?”
Gangbanger: “We’re not resisting, pigs!”
Cop: “Fuck you!”
Mags empty. Problem solved.
Is anyone else on Team TAH pondering the sheer magnitude of the shrill apologetic wailing and pointed condemnation that would be echoing throughout the Western Hemisphere if two Catholics armed with knives had burst into a mosque and cut the throat of a Muslim imam?
Would be a neverending Liberalathon of CNN and other media outlets citing subconscious racism that permeates the American populace and the plight of the downtrodden Muslim. Fuuuuuuuu….uuuudge, that would sucketh.
If I pondered that for any length of time, I’d be gazing into the black pit for way too long.
Rather, I treat them like the Chihuahua that’s constantly trying to tell me how bad he is.
Lily, you seem to be trying to blame the invasion of Iraq for the rise of militant Islam. You should check out the Wahhabist Sect in Saudi Arabia if you’re looking for the underlying cause for Jihad.
Oh, and the fanatic Imams in Iran who actively seek Armageddon…
Yeah, that bunch is looking for the 12th Imam, heralding the end of the world.
They should be careful what they wish for. Really careful.
I wouldn’t say the invasion of Iraq was the problem. The problem started after Obama left Iraq in 2011. We should have stayed and contained the problem.
Something needs to change with these radical Imams too. Since they encourage their followers to blow themselves up I think it’s safe to say they are leaders of the Jihadist movement. Yet for some reason none of the leaders in the west seem to recognize these terrorist leaders. I think a lot of them need a swift drone strike.
According to his parishioners and other people who knew him, Pere Hamel did not want to retire at 75. He said he would stay until he could no longer hold Mass.

Lily, maybe you weren’t around when we were labeled the Great Satan.
I was around. These Jihadist were better contained back then. Our leaders at this present time don’t think that label is serious. So were in trouble.
