Brits doctoring news
“Fake News”.
Man, I get tired of that phrase. Especially when used by pols trying to dodge – well, the truth. I’m sure you don’t have to strain to recall some weak-chinned idiot yelling “Fake News!” when his hand is caught in the cookie jar, or her hand is in her date’s lap at a Beetlejuice show (“say Beetlejuice three times and he will come.”) But, occasionally, rarely, every so often – it’s actually accurate.
One such case making the news now is from the formerly respected British Broadcasting Corporation. They used to be the gold standard – in contrast to Lord Haw-Haw and Nazi propaganda, they were the soothing folks who brought you Churchill and the correct, real side of the story. Later, even when some American outlets started swaying left, they claimed impartiality and accuracy.
Not no mo’.
October last year, a show called ‘Panorama’ aired a segment called “Trump: A Second Chance?” in which they sowed Trump egging on the January 6 crowd, inciting them to God knows what, with
“We’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and I’ll be there with you, and we fight. We fight like hell.”
It ain’t Patton’s speeech, but by today’s political standards (and especially his denial of inflammatory language that day) pretty damning. Who would want to elect a guy in two weeks would would say that?
Just one minor detail. It ain’t true. It is indeed “fake”, and created solely to give an impression miles from the truth. Here’s what he said:
“We’re gonna walk down, and I’ll be there with you. We’re gonna walk down. We’re gonna walk down any one you want, but I think right here. We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol, and we’re gonna cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women. And we’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.
Where’s that “fight like hell” stuff?
“We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”
Almost an hour later, Trump said near the end of his speech: “We fight like hell. And if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.” (Italics added by me.)
It’s pretty lame of them to do that… but, believe it or not, it gets worse.
The dossier was written by Michael Prescott, who was an independent external adviser to the BBC’s Editorial Guidelines and Standards Committee for three years before leaving in June. Newsweek has contacted Prescott for comment via email.
He wrote in a letter sent with the dossier that he had left the role with “profound and unresolved concerns about the BBC.”
Michael Prescott wrote in the dossier, per The Telegraph: “It was completely misleading to edit the clip in the way Panorama aired it. The fact that [Trump] did not explicitly exhort supporters to go down and fight at Capitol Hill was one of the reasons there were no federal charges for incitement to riot.” Newsweek
The Beeb’s response? Oh, they will take the feedback and consider it carefully.
Luckily, as someone with a passing familiarity with several languages, I can translate that last into plain American speech: “We’re going to blow this off like usual.” Geez, you would think they were most American networks.
Bad show, BBC. Very bad show.

We know the legacy media has been captured by the Left. This is not new.
Radical leftists from the 60s and 70s became college professors because they cannot find a real job in the economy in their own field, and they educated the new generation of journalists, who in turn took over the legacy media.
This process is well documented.
An ex-KGB Agent once admitted on video that the USSR’s kingpins knew damned well that they’d never defeat the USA in combat, thus in the 60’s they mounted their campaigns, first the education system, then the media, and we have what we do now.

Given the actions of the Brit Govt. over “speech” violations regarding memes, criticism of the govt itself and heinous acts like praying in public, I am not surprised by the change in the BBC. I am sure they are following the dictates of the friendly powers that be in parliament.
Where do I post something insulting to catch the attention of the Brit PTB to get them to put out an international warrant for my arrest?
