Cartel bosses authorize the use of kamikaze drones against U.S. Border Patrol agents

| February 5, 2025

The Trump administration’s clamp down efforts at the border and mass deportations of illegal aliens are having a negative impact on the Cartel’s money-making opportunities. In a bid to fight back, cartel bosses have authorized their members to utilize kamikaze drones and other explosives against border personnel on the U.S. side of the border. Border personnel are being advised to increase their situational awareness and security posture. These threats also impact U.S. Military personnel at the border.

From New York Post:

Mexican drug cartels are ordering their members to attack US Border Patrol agents with kamikaze drones and other explosives in a desperate bid to thwart the crackdown at the border, according to an internal memo obtained by The Post.

The alert, which cites social media posts and other sources, cautions federal agents “to remain cognizant of their surroundings at all times” in the face of the new threat.

“On February 1, 2025, the El Paso Sector Intelligence and Operations Center (EPT-IOC) received information advising that Mexican cartel leaders have authorized the deployment of drones equipped with explosives to be used against US Border Patrol agents and US military personal currently working along the border with Mexico,” the internal memo titled “Officer Safety Alert” said.

“It is recommended that all US Border Patrol agents and DoD personnel working along the border report any sighting of drones to their respective leadership staff and the EPT-IOC.”

Federal agents working the border are also advised to “carry proper equipment” at all times, including first aid kids, tourniquets and body armor. The memo also notes that rifles “should be readily available.”

News Nation, which first revealed the memo, also reported that posts on TikTok and other social media sites by the cartels have advised illegal migrants to “spit and urinate” in ICE agents’ food and defecate in their vehicles.

Other posts have encouraged assassins to target agents.

I am not quite sure picking a drone fight with the US is the route that will bring the success they seek.

“How can you shoot women and children?”
“It’s easy, you don’t have to lead ’em as much!”

On a UN mission where we had to deal with child soldiers who’d engaged in war cannibalism and other nastiness, I shamelessly stole from that. A young (and dumb) American UN women (not especially fond of, eww, evil military people) who worked aid projects asked me (a touch condescendingly) how, in a military manner, I’d deal with said combatants if they got serious. (Really, most had done their duty and just wanted to get on with life– they were easy to deal with if approached as adults, not little kids to be pitied– but there were many who’d enjoyed sh*t way too much and needed to locked-up.) So, I laid it on thick: “Full auto, full auto works great– you just don’t have to lead the little bastards so much.” She ran for it.

Anonymous

P.S. For real, ain’t trippin’– was there in Liberia in 2008 about the same time Shane Smith was making his Vice Guide to Liberia documentary. UN mission there operated under U.S. WWII-era “big-boy rules” where folk were expected to behave themselves. Dudes who came up under hermetically-sealed T-wall FOB conditions overseas couldn’t actually live and handle their business constructively in a sh*tty environment full-time. (Micromanagement makes your people gullible wussies who end up psychological roadkill with booze, sex and other trouble freely available.) Mostly, without a ceasefire to observe, it was patrolling out in the bush (unarmed, of course) to see what beefs and other issues needed resolved. (Glorified “domestic” calls with agitated locals, for the LEOs out there.) Foreigners (Lebanese) and child soldiers turned entrepreneurs were often most constructive to deal with as local adult supervision were often retards. The most surreal moment I had there– as an American-ized African culture, they’d listened to hardcore gangsta rap as their war music and knew Ebonics– was driving through savannah country (African animals like you’d expect) with Akon’s “I Want to F*ck You” on the radio:

P.P.S. United Nations (UN) missions must be experienced to be believed. U.S. standards of professionalism, competence and morals are not universal and many nations out there still consider soldiers expendable retards. The UN itself is run exactly like student government in high school and all of its peacekeeping missions are pickup games: “Show of hands– everyone for the Darfur committee?” The UN missions are run on the principle of “Impartiality” which means the UN, being neutral, should be equally hard on everyone for the sake of humanity but, in practice, means it’s equally hard on nobody. (The UN and Impartiality are models for the Federation and the Prime Directive in Star Trek and, yes, an American or Western European usually has to play Captain Kirk and bend the rules to make sh*t come out right and accomplish the mission.) Street Fighter (a crappy Van Damme so-f*ckin’-awful-it’s-good movie made from a video game) is unintentionally realistic about UN missions (probably why it’s the “Allied Nations” therein or somebody would’ve been sued)– van Damme here has a good ‘Merican reaction to UN waffling:

No. Mexico is a failed state where cartel corruption has seeped into all facets of the Mexican government, who were corrupt to begin with.
It’s time to drop the hammer on the cartels. They are narco-terrorists.
Hilariously…..for the last 4 years ‘ white supremacy ‘ was declared to be the greatest threat to America.

5JC

Not sure which I like more. Proof that China Tok supports crime in the US, illegal migrants getting spicy so they can get tossed faster, the cartels committing Hari-Kari by attacking the US Military or the Border Patrol finally, at long last doing something other than sitting on their asses as ordered.

Kind of makes me want to run down and join the BP, if not for the age limit thing.

SFC D

Best job I ever had was as a telecommunications tech (contractor) for CBP. Trying to get a GS position in that area but their hiring process is beyond slow. This drone thing is definitely gonna get interesting.

MIRanger

Some of the Cartel’s legitimate businesses must be in Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS), and they are looking to hedge their losses by supplying the local businesses or NGOs.

A Proud Infidel®™

Now that USAID has been pretty much shut down, I bet the NGOs are gracefully screwed when it comes to funding!

E.conboy

But with age comes wisdom, right? You’re a national treasure. You are needed here. Thanks! 🇺🇸

KoB

This could get very interesting. Time to play “Predator” and “Reaper” yet? How long can those things “loiter” on station? And how much firepower do they have? And how long before the US Military can gear up to mass produce swarms of baby, anti personnel drones?

Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neanderthal

Baby drones?
KoB, I’m surprised at you.
I’m advocating that you bring up one of your wheeled cannons/howitzers, lay in a fire direction, and fire one for effect.
Survey where that first one lands, then correct and fire again.
Sounds like your kind of fun, Gun Bunny.

Graybeard

I concur.

Don’t threaten me with a good time! Much as I love me some direct fire (can you say double canister ? I knew you could), I also love me some Aerial Artillery Platforms. I was just suggesting that we use “like for like “ see how their drones can stand up to our drones. Either way I will need a cigarette and a nap afterwards!

SFC D

So what’s the range of a flechette round against an aerial target?

Claw

Let’s keep it small and easily portable to start out with. The flechette round for the M79 Thumper has a max/effective range of 350/400 meters.

We can always go to 105 Beehives later on. /s/

SFC D

Hmmm… CBP has a less-lethal launcher that’s much like an M79. Fires rubber buckshot, 35mm I believe. A guy could swap that buckshot out…

Fyrfighter

37mm if they’re not using 40s

SFC D

You’re probably right, I wasn’t allowed to play with all of their toys. Dammit.

rgr769

Now, whether one can hit someone with them at 350 meters is another question. In the Viet of the Nam, we had 12 gauge shot shells loaded with the little flechette darts.

Slow Joe

I think the max range of the Coyote anti-drone missile is still classified.

Slow Joe
Fjardeson

That’s a neat little system

MIRanger

Not far enough. Could be faster, and longer flight time.
Send some of those Lasers down there.

Fyrfighter

I bet it’d be damn effective against satellite members on that island they’ve inhabited..

Fyrfighter

I bet it’d be damn effective against cartel members on that island they’ve inhabited..

MIRanger

We have a new 30mm Proximity round, and a less new .50cal version as well.
Those plus the missiles they have been testing in Ukraine or the drone that ram other drones! Should be a fun time to be an Air Defender!

Jimbojszz

I would like to see the 2.75” Rocket, M255A1 flechette round used from drones. Would be interesting. Do they still make this round? Was available during Vietnam for helicopters.

Anonymous

Called the Mk 66 Hydra-70(mm) now (same thing, new fins, used metric) with M255A1 warhead.

Jimbojszz

send some of these toothpicks to the cartels for a little after dinner teeth cleaning. Followed by a few daisy cutters to wake them up from their siesta.

Ya know…another thing that makes the Beloved Herky Bird more impressive as a Gun Ship is its ability to land on a floating Air Base.

And how is this not a declaration of war by said cartel monkeys?

I say turn up the heat on Mexico. If they’re too corrupt, scared or stupid to eradicate the cartels that run their country let’s do it for them.

tavern knight

Thinking/Believing THIS.

OAM

Alex, I’ll take “How to make yourself a legitimate military target for $1000”.

Old tanker

Trump has already declared the cartels terrorist organizations. All this is going to do is open a truly hot guerilla war with US combat ops operating in Mexico. IMO the administration needs to let the Mexican President know, that the first drone attack or the first BP agent shot from their side of the line will initiate unrestricted US Military action on the cartels and any politician found in their pockets. Gitmo has room as do the cemeteries.

Mason

You’d think they’d know their history a bit better. The US has at least thrice invaded Mexico (1846, 1914, and 1916), with the last such invasion specifically to combat trans-national banditry.

Seems like it’s about time to go ” back to the future”…

Fyrfighter

As the saying goes, ” we ain’t played cowboys and cartels yet”…

Hack Stone

These Cartel leaders need to look at their 401Ks and assess whether is in their best interest to seek employment opportunities in another occupational field. In case they have not been following the American news, despite the wishes of the Democrat Party, Mainstream Legacy Media and the Hollywood elite, America was just not buying what they were selling. And unlike Joe Biden, Donald Trump will not respond with a token response of blowing up an empty building, but will respond with such overwhelming firepower that the surviving members of the cartel leaders village will curse the day he was born. Who wants to be the first guy to test Donald Trump’s FAFO Doctrine?

singing ‘Mexico” 1957 on the Melba label.

What about “Down in Mexico” by The Coasters? Or “Mexico Bound” by The Champions and Sonny Thompson?

Great songs during that time. I remember going into Brooklyn with my folks and the novelty song Charlie Brown was on the charts as we listened on the car radio.

We could just send a certain Regiment down there, maybe assign them to CBP for a year. Gloves off to perform battalion sized raids on Cartel infested location!
None of those platoon and smaller little snatches or raids. Full scale movement to contact and assaults on towns.

5JC

Could send the 25th instead of disbanding them.

Jimbojszz

Sad to hear the 25th is being disbanded. My friend was a medic at Cu chi with the 25th.in 70. Will have to let him know.

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

Take the fight to these cabronas and refry them cartel beans

Fyrfighter

Well, protests ( soon to be fired but mostly peaceful riots) have started in Denver due to ICE raids today. Here’s hoping they were prepared and have plenty of agents on hand.tonarrest the protesters that are also illegals.. that’d be funny as hell! Like hunting over bait!

A Proud Infidel®™

OH yeah, my bet is that we’re going to see some really pure politician grade stupid in the months to come. Let’s not forget that most liberals are blithering fools who let their emotions run rampant in making their decisions for them along with being herd animals who only think and do the bidding of their herders and handlers.

Fyrfighter

The news from Denver is proving just how true that is… Though sadly, it doesn’t seem that ICE was prepared to round up all the illegals currently protesting..

The idea that cartel bosses “authorize” anything is far too politik a concept for an outlaw contingent making decisions within the borders of a sovereign nation.

Mexico’s President’s only response, if she wants to be respected as a real leader, is to slap down these cartels and say, “The only person who authorizes shit against any foreign agency is this particular pendeha talking to you, right now.”

Deckie

Well, then they’d find pieces of her hanging from an overpass above a major highway — courtesy of said cartels.

Outside of the resorts, Mexico is an animal house.

Skivvy Stacker

Well, the U.S. Air Force has drones that fly at over 40,000 feet and are equipped with some really accurate ordinance that can wipe an entire city block off the map with the touch of a button. Paired with cameras that can focus in on a mouse’s balls and you’ve got the perfect response to these cartel bosses using their little Kamikazi drones.
Adios motherfuckers.
