Somebody gonna have some ‘splainin’ to do…and the Company Commander gonna be pissed that HIS ride was stolen.

SFC D

Shit will flow downhill to the key control NCO.

Milo Mindbender

No keys on a Humvee, only a cable to lock the steering wheel.

SFC D

You don’t say. I had no clue.

I had a lot of fun cutting locks on tactical vehicles 10 years ago. My brigade was having JBC-P systems installed and I was tasked as NCOIC overseeing the weeks-long process, working with a CPT who’d submitted his UQR to ensure the contractors stayed on schedule.

Units liked bringing their vehicles to the queue and securing them, despite us needing everything unlocked so our driver detail could move them in and out of the bays. I carried a set of bolt cutters constantly, going through at least three pairs cutting those Series 5200 locks. The best “victim” was the BSTB commander. His driver brought his armored HMMWV to the line during lunch, parking it at the front before locking it and leaving. I cut the lock, then when the driver came back after lunch, he called back to his command. A female S2 CPT came to address the “breach of security”, which didn’t go so well for her when my CPT stepped in.

As an aside, the units didn’t want the excess hardware, and the contractors couldn’t take it with them. To this day, I have boxes and bags of electrical connectors and such (butt splices, eyelets, insulated clamps, etc.), grade 8 and stainless bolts and nuts, rivnuts, and other stuff to organize.

KoB

Doncha just love it when a “Command” Ossifer puts a “Staff Weenie” (Staff Taco in this case?) in their place!

Nice hardware haul.

Graybeard

Ya gotta snicker when that happens.

Reserve Center theft? Guarantee its a weekend warrior taking a 5-finger discount.

Whats the phone number where I can buy a pair of binoculars

OAM

Off topic but, LA Mayor Karen Bass FIRES fire chief Kristin Crowley after lashing out

Mayor’s office is denying it.
Grab some popcorn.

RGR 4-78

If I was Chief Crowley I would lawyer up and catch me a trophy Bass.

😆

rgr1480

Largemouth Bass at that!

RGR 4-78

Largemouth right up until the press start asking inconvenient questions.

Green Thumb

Word.

Mmmmmmm, schadenfreude, …

Hack Stone

Is it still called a cat fight when one of the opponents looks like a guy?

HT3

Too soon?

Never to soon.

The Chief had a stack of CYA memos on her office table talking about how they were cutting the budget and corners during the interview. Bass must have bus tracks every which way all up and down her back. Mishonor wasn’t going to take that lying down.

RGR 4-78

Bass must have bus tracks every which way all up and down her back.”

Good, I hope the tread marks are from an aggressive all terrain type bus tire.

This may seem like a heartless response, but …
From that list, it sounds like some … group … is arming up for urban warfare. Seeing that it is in California where despite decades of evidence people keep voting for the same crap, I’m struggling to find my empathy. I know I had it here and put it somewhere for safe keeping, I just can’t seem to locate it at the moment.

A Proud Infidel®™

It was stolen in California, so thus I wonder what part of Mexico it’s in by now, I bet the drug cartels would like to have that up armored truck!

Eggs

Or urban looting posing as guard types maybe?

Graybeard

I’m thinking either that Venezuelan gang or one of the cartels.
Not good optics.

Hack Stone

This is not going to look good on the Yelp review for Ambassador Worldwide Protection Agency. Commander Thomas “Turd” Bolling was unavailable for comment.

Green Thumb

Lori Benton is nervous.

Hack Stone

Don’t worry, they won’t get far, they don’t have a trip ticket and the Road Master is in no mood to cut them any slack.

SgtM

It’s a hummer, you have to post a 3522 mech with each one to keep them running. They will soon be found with more shut down codes than will fit in a mailbox with no door.

A Proud Infidel®™

And I bet they didn’t even have any PMCS or Dispatch paperwork done on them either!

Anonymous

Don’t forget the regular AOAP sampling done– can’t go without that

“8 machine gun vehicle mount”

What good is the mount without the…you know…the thing.

David

Nothing lethal in the whole lot. Saw an article that said the thieves tried, and failed, to get into a uniform storage area.

Back on topic of army shit. I was stationed at least 2 Naval Reserve Centers that shared a common fence compound with the Army Reserve. Security seemed to be an after thought with those guys. My Navy reseve unit had 1 jeep and they had tanks, trucks, jeeps, etc. We took more pains to be sure our one jeep was where it was supposed to be becaue I had to do the paper work. I could go to the compound after a weekend army drill and find the garage, offices, gate, etc unlocked and no one around.

Nothing has changed BZ

SgtM

An unnamed training area in Hawaii on the big Island had lots of duece and a half’s on it in good shape. When certain Jarhead mechanics went there for training, all of a sudden our piece of shit Viet of the Nam left overs were running and looking better. It was a fukin miracle private joker.

Try having multiple units use the same Motor Pool, someone is always wandering around “shopping for parts”!

‘stealing mil-spec stuff. Part of me pities the fools who’d steal mil-spec stuff.

Whyzit the excitement level towards mil-spec stuff goes from

  1. E-1 – E-3 = Yea baby, this stuff is great.
  2. E-4 and up = oof, not another over engineered POS that I’ve gotta fix.
  3. Civilian = OH my goodness yes, I’ve gotta get me some!
A Proud Infidel®™

“Military Grade” or “mil-spec” says to me that it was made by the lowest bidder!

AW1 Rod

So, this Army Reserve Center had NO video surveillance?

Hack Stone

The same surveillance cameras as used at the DNC Headquarters when the pipe bomb was planted.

KoB

And Epstein’s prison cell.

E.conboy

I heard he hung hisself?

KoB

Pictures or it didn’t happen!

Tallywhagger

Where was Sean Penn during that period of time?

MarineDad61

Tustin, CA.
Not Trustin.
It’s a city of 80,000, near Irvine and Santa Ana.
5½ hours, and no one caught that?

Hmmm, maybe bigger fish to fry what with the fires going on out there right now? National Guard and Reserves called up?

Hack Stone

Of course, the first three duty days will be mandatory training of how diversity will help fight fires and in recognizing White Supremacy.

Cptsmith

I ain’t trustin shit in California

President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neande

The thieves must not have been able to break into the arms room…..that is, as far as we’ve (not) been told.

Our arms room had motion sensors and was monitored 24 hours from Ft McCoy. We were in Orlando so not sure what the response time would be

Army-Air Force Guy

No big deal, the Big Guy left more stuff than that behind in Af of the ghanistan.

timactual

Millions of dollars of equipment and no security?
