Captain Lester A. Brown, Jr.

Commander of Navy Leadership and Ethics Center Fired over Personal Conduct

By Konstantin Toropin

The Navy has relieved the commanding officer of its Navy Leadership and Ethics Command in San Diego, a statement announced Tuesday.

Capt. Shawn Bailey of the Navy Ethics and Leadership Center relieved Capt. Lester Brown Jr. of his duties Tuesday “due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command,” the statement said.

According to its website, the schoolhouse command “provides training and education for officers not yet in command and courses designed as part of the Enlisted Leader Development (ELD) framework.”

Brown’s relief marks at least the 11th firing of a commanding officer this year over a “loss of confidence in their ability to command.”

Loss of confidence is a boilerplate reason provided by the Navy, and other military services, that can encompass anything from issues with the way the commander is treating their crew to personal actions like drunken driving.

A Navy official told Military.com that Brown was relieved over a matter of personal conduct for which there was a command investigation.

Ironically Lester’s bio doesn’t mention if he ever actually attended a Leadership and Ethics course.

Looks like he was well on his way to a Flag, right up until he ran aground on the shoals of Lost Faith and Confidence. Thanks to Andy11M for the link.

Hmm.. maybe some unauthorized “joint maneuvers” going on??

Odie

Maybe somebody wanted to see what her Scoville scale was with a name like Cayenne.

SFC D

He “put his confidence in her”.

A Proud Infidel®️™️

Yeah, but did he pull it out in time, or did he make her swallow?

SFC D

She was merely following the example of the previously anointed Democrat presidential candidate, a true role model for American women to follow.

Odie

Seems to be a lot of “loss of confidence” going around. 11 firings in 11 months? Are they going to make it 12, or go for a bakers dozen.

Green Thumb

Yeah.

They put these idiots in these positions for show in a lot of cases.

It was only a matter of time.

Looks like the Navy is doing a bit of housecleaning…

Fyrfighter

Sad thing is, ya gotta consider at least two possibilities.. the first is the obvious, that they are morons promoted above their level of incompetence, the second is that the current regime is continuing its purge of decent, patriotic officers, in order to do as much damage as possible before the leave town..
Don’t have any further info, so no idea which is true in this case.

Devtun

Sarc would hit that. No paper bag required.

5JC

Hell, I’d hit it too.

SFC D

Concur.

Fyrfighter

She does kinda live up to her name..

She cute…

Sailorcurt

Cayanne McFarlane

Is that her stripper name?

SFC D

It will be. That’ll be her next job.

Odie

She could start an only fans page. Jus sayin.

Fyrfighter

Could?? Or already has… inquiring minds and all..

Hack Stone

Any chance that she is related to Spanky McFarlane? Speaking of which, Darla Hood would have turned 93 if she was still with us. Hack saw her as young woman on The Jack Benny Program, and she was a hottie. She passed at age 47 after contracting acute hepatitis from a blood transfusion during an operation.

Green Thumb

You run the Navy Leadership and Ethics Command and get canned?

Your an unethical turd.

Odie

🎶 Isn’t it ironic, don’t ya think? 🎶

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

Just a little tooooo ironic

5JC

It’s like she met the man of her dreams and then his beautiful wife.

Having ethics must be a lot more complicated than thought if it requires a senior officer and a separate organization to instill it. Silly me, I have relied on what I learned as a child. I must be pretty unethical.

2banana

DEI to its natural logical conclusion.

Wrapped in the blanket of aggrieved-status, high on one’s own faux “for the greater good” farts, protected by a cult of fellow saboteurs of systems that function…

The capacity to justify willful violations of ethics is boundless.

Perhaps the Navy will reorient itself to promote officers based on merit, experience, competence, and judgement instead of the dogshit Carlos Del Toro has been advocating for and allowing to persist over the last few years.

Prior Service (Ret)

Haha. The irony of Lester (call sign “Mo’Lest’her”) Brown and Cayanne “Hot stuff” MacFarlane being relieved in the same time and place is both hilarious and impossible to ignore. Especially when paired with his responsibility for ethics and leadership and her focus on information. All they had to do was “the right thing, even when nobody is looking.” Instead, they’ve become an object lesson for their peers.

Good job taking out the trash, Navy! It’s just a shame someone else lost out on the command opportunities these two thieves stole.

Odie

Another Monday morning safety brief will be ready to go by well, Monday morning.

Too bad they won’t be able to sit in on it. It promises to be fun.

Hack Stone

Monday is Veteran’s Day, but this is such a pressing matter that all enlisted will be directed to report at 06:45 for mandatory Remedial Ethis Training.

SFC D

Commanding “Navy Leadership and Ethics Command” sounds like it’s a half-step below “Shitty Little Jobs Officer”. Did he get this job via wanker walking?

Prior Service (Ret)

No, but that’s the way he lost it.

Devtun

The air force has a senior field grade officer sacking.

5JC

That is a little odd. He’s usually the one that doesn’t get fired no matter how bad his airmen are screwing up.

“Executive Master of Science in business administration from William and Mary College.”

My late brother-in-law used to teach in that program at W & M. Not the most rigorous or challenging course of study from what he told me. An excellent resume enhancer, though.

What happens why you hire only for skin color and ignore merit.

MCPO USN

The Fat Leonard scandal seriously disrupted Navy promotions for years. 450 officers were tied up with it. It led to others getting promoted to fill vacancies when they otherwise would not have been selected. And it leads to situations like this.

SFC D

Proof that with a strong enough vacuum, shit will flow uphill.
