Harris County shooting: Man shot dead after attempting to rob resident, officials say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Harris County deputies are at the scene of a shooting in northwest Houston on Saturday.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reports deputies were called to the 6700 block of W. FM 1960 Road where they found one man shot dead.

According to officials, a resident at an apartment compact was walking through the parking lot when he was approached by two men who were armed and attempted to rob him. The resident said he wrestled a pistol from one of the suspects and shot him. Officials say the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office authorities state the other suspect, only described as a Black male, left the scene in a silver four-door sedan.

Off-duty Rockdale County officer shoots gunman at apartment complex, officials say

By Eric Mock
CONYERS, Ga. – A suspect allegedly firing his weapon at a Conyers apartment complex was shot and killed by an off-duty officer who lives in the area Saturday afternoon.

Newton County deputies said they responded to the shooting at around 2:14 p.m. on Salem Glen Way.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigations said multiple witnesses saw 20-year-old Ivan Felton of Covington shooting at a Salem Glen Apartments resident. An off-duty Rockdale County deputy said he watched Felton run after the resident. That’s when the deputy said he confronted him and shot him.

Thanks again, Gun Bunny.

Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human liberty; it is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.

Imagine witnessing the second incident. I know I take innate joy on the rare occasion I see a traffic offender get their comeuppance. Weaving in and out of traffic, speeding, etc. and suddenly you see them get lit up by a cop. I always make a point to wave if I see them on the side of the road after letting them pass a few miles earlier. Now, just think about sitting in your apartment and suddenly hearing gunshots. You peek outside and see young Ivan bustin’ caps at your neighbor, then watch the deputy who lives across the street intervene and provide Mr. Felton a life (and death) lesson on proper aiming techniques and good shot placement.

I love this place! 😂

Yep, I always gets me a warm and fuzzy feelz when I read of the dumbasses that FA & FO. Even more better when they are made DRT by their own weapon. Or they don’t realize when they show lack of SA that somebody armed is lurking and gets to be The Mysterious Way that His Wonders are worked. Speaking of wonder…Wonder what pressing business elsewhere the perp that beat feet had?

When the tax slaves finally get tired of the infringements on liberty from tyrants, there will not be an argument. The Creed will be to throw the tyrants into a pit of Hell.

I noticed your comment the other day, fm2176, about a possible change in day job activities for you. Are you thinking about going up river a ways and get a gig with RIA? I can just imagine the drool you’ll have when you peruse the selections available there…and the unmitigated gloating as you scarf up the FIRST (ht2 BennSue) dibs.

No change of location for me. I guess the downside of living in Bayou Country is the lack of major gun manufacturers. If I stayed in the gun trade, I’d probably find work with a smaller FFL. I’ve been vocal since starting, though, that I plan on Bass Pro being my first and last retail job. Maybe later in life I’ll be a door greeter, who knows?

I put in an application for Loomis as backup in case there’s fallout. I’ve also even looked at just delivering for an auto parts store. Loomis might match my current wages, but I’d take a decent pay cut for the latter. I like the concept of more steady hours, and Loomis should offer the potential of overtime. I don’t mind working 12 hours a day, but my current job might see me closing one day (10pm) and opening the next (7am), while not having time to do everything I need to in eight hours. On one hand, if I get and accept a job offer, I’d feel a bit like I was putting my current coworkers in a bind just before Black Friday. On the other hand, I’ve heard enough about Big Retail to think that they wouldn’t hesitate to keep me on through the holidays and hunting season, then make a decision to let me go in early January when hours are cut, and business dies down.

I’m also diversifying my portfolio and attending the Private Investigator course at the end of the month. From my understanding, getting my Journeyman license will allow me to work under contract for established agencies. I need three years of PI experience to get my Agency license, or if I worked directly for one, I could get an Individual license.

Private Investigator course”

Divorce spook.

Now there is a job with a never-ending supply of work.

PS I likes all the gun talk. Thanks
