Alexandria Ocasio Cortez-giving birth results in female economic conscription

Women Conscripted to Work

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed that abortion should be treated as an economic issue. She feels that if women are forced to complete their pregnancy and have children, they would have a bigger need to work so that they could have the financial resources to raise those children. By her reasoning, this reality is a form of economic conscription. She appeared to take swipes at men when she said that it was disappointing to hear the opinion of someone who never had to deal with having a child.

From Fox News:

“Forcing poor and working-class people to give birth against their will, against their consent, against their ability to provide for themselves or a child, is a profound economic issue and it’s certainly a way to keep a workforce basically conscripted to large-scale employers and to employers to work more against their will, to take second and third jobs against their desire and their own autonomy,” she said.

Ocasio-Cortez was responding to comments from Rep. Jake LaTurner, R-Kan., who criticized Democrats for focusing on abortion instead of economic issues like inflation and energy policy.

She said it’s “disappointing” to hear that point of view from someone who has “never had to contend” with bearing a child, and said abortion is a “profound and central economic and class issue.”

Ocasio-Cortez also replied to another Republican lawmaker who sparred with a Democratic witness when he asked whether biological men can get pregnant. The witness, a doctor who is director of trans care for Planned Parenthood, said men “can have pregnancies, especially trans men.”

Rep. Andrew Clyde, R-Ga., argued back that “men cannot get pregnant,” and asked why Democrats would call up a director of trans care to the hearing.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez uses Intrauterine Device

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez argued that since the Republicans forced a specific conversation, she would “meet them to it”. She admitted to using an intrauterine device (IUD). The failure of this device may result in ectopic pregnancies. By extension, the need for an abortion. Cortez proceeded to ask a witness what would happen if this occurred in a state where abortion is not legal with the exception of the woman’s life being in danger.

From Fox News:

“I, for example, since Republicans are forcing this conversation in uncomfortable ways, then I will meet them to it,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “I have an IUD. I’ve had one for years.”

The congresswoman then discussed the possibility of ectopic pregnancies when IUDs fail to work and asked witness Dr. Bhavik Kumar about what would happen in such a case in a state that has outlawed abortions except when a woman’s life is in danger.

“Would that mean that if I were hospitalized in these states, you would have to wait until I was in the process — potentially — of actively dying before you could effectively treat me and my or anyone in our position’s life?” Ocasio-Cortez asked.

“To date, and to my knowledge, there are no laws that outlaw care for ectopic pregnancies,” said Kumar, who is the medical director for primary and trans care at Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast.

Misinformation about not treating ectopic pregnancies spread on the internet after some states banned abortion in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. Some claimed that women in those states could not legally get abortions until they were about to die. Kumar set the record straight by saying this was not the case, but claimed that there have been difficult situations due to confused doctors.

“What we’ve seen in Texas — because these laws are written by politicians and sometimes don’t make sense and are difficult to grapple with and understand by physicians who are practicing medicine — we have seen people denied access to that care and have actually seen somebody in Texas who left the state to get care for her ectopic pregnancy,” Kumar said.

She appeared to take swipes at men when she said that it was disappointing to hear the opinion of someone who never had to deal with having a child.

What the hell is she talking about? Hasn’t she heard the latest scientific breakthrough? Apparently, now men can become pregnant.

Jay

Maybe she should get Major Jamie Lee Henry’s input on it.

President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neande

Why would I ever want to hear HER opinion on raising children? Has SHE ever had and raised a child?
Didn’t think so.

At all costs and for the sake of future history if any, all Leftists, and Sandy in particular, should never under any circumstances procreate. This should be highly encouraged as matter of survival of the human race. Darwinism at its finest; let those not worthy select themselves for extinction. Let their awful ideology perish with their passing.

When the left decided that they could not define what a woman was and that men could get pregnant they invalidated any argument they may have had about women’s issues.

And please, for the love of God, No one, ever, ever take the IUD out of that woman, Just in case.

There is not enough Sildenafil in the world for her to be in
danger of penetration by any sane male.
Any pregnancy would have to be artificial and done in a lab.

Eventually someone will be drunk enough or crazy enough themselves and then it will be: Crazy + Crazy = Cray-Cray. Assuming she doesn’t abort the kid right away we could be in for a mess that makes Charlie Sheen look normal.

Talk about a defective test tube baby.

AZRobert

It’s an IOU in that woman, a new woke medical procedure.

AW1 Rod

SO much Stupid, here. From an idiot “Dr.” who thinks men can get pregnant, to a legislator who’s dumber than a bag of hair…..one scarcely knows where to begin with the ridicule.

I imagine one can actually FEEL the mean IQ of the room plummet as Alexandria Occasional Cortex enters.

A Proud Infidel®™

AOC is a walking volcano of idiocy.

Forrest Bondurant

It’s anyone’s guess what she’d say if she knew there are men who are single parents and raising children on their own.

26Limabeans

She would call it child abuse if female or grooming if male.

Fyrfighter

Child abuse yes, but lefties avoid the “G” word like the plague, since they know they are the main proponents of such activity

5JC

Don’t be silly it is only 2 hetero for every 1 homo. So it is twice as many straights.

33 second video.

“REP. AOC: “The same folks who tell us and told us that COVID is just a flu, that climate change isn’t real, that January 6th was nothing but a tourist visit, are now trying to tell us that transgender people are not real.”

An ectopic pregnancy IS a medical emergency and IS a threat to the life of the “mother”. Her argument that an abortion is not an option in non abortion “friendly” states is categorically false. Pretty much like anything that comes out of her mouth.

Planned Parenthood doesn’t even consider the termination of an ectopic pregnancy to be an abortion. Yet the left has to keep pushing that argument.

Fyrfighter

No medical professional does, because by definition, an ectopic pregnancy is NOT viable

SFC D

My favorite line is “Conservatives won’t even allow abortion in case of miscarriage!” I don’t think that’s how that works.

rgr769

Any lie that serves the party-line is useful, comrade.

Green Thumb

This moron does not appear to be getting the mic time she has in the past.

I thnk even many folks in the borderline progressive component of her party have started to realize she is a afterthought or cocktail party joke.

Doing her best to stay relevant.

KoB

Too bad that all of the people screaming for abortion weren’t aborted themselves.

It’s hilarious hearing her trying to promote autonomy and consent for abortion when the majority of pregnancies in America are the result of autonomous women giving consent to male partners. Also, if you want to talk about “economic conscription to provide for children,” child support is pretty much a men’s issue, honey, and by your own logic, you’re not allowed to talk about it!

Jay

Here’s a novel idea. If you don’t want to have an unwanted pregnancy: STOP FUCKING!

rgr769

Or, how about utilizing one or two of those methods of preventing pregnancy.

Is she complaining about or arguing in favor of this for “social justice”? (As hard of thinking and a Democrat as she is, it’s hard to tell.)
