Help is on the way for Russia in Ukraine, NK may deploy 100k troops

| August 6, 2022

They’ll need to start covering their backs after deploying to Donbass

We might have overestimated the Russians’ ability to wage war if it comes to calling in the under-fed soldiers of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to help in their war in Ukraine.

The Australian Daily Telegraph has the story;

Up to 100,000 North Korean soldiers could be sent to bolster Vladimir Putin’s forces fighting Ukraine, according to Russian reports.

A leading defence expert in Moscow, reserve colonel Igor Korotchenko, told state TV: “We shouldn’t be shy in accepting the hand extended to us by Kim Jong-un.”

North Korea has made it clear through “diplomatic channels” that as well as providing builders to repair war damage, it is ready to supply a vast fighting force, reported Regnum news agency.

They would be deployed to the forces of the separatist pro-Putin Donetsk People’s Republic [DPR] and Luhansk People’s Republic [LPR], both of which Kim has recently recognised as independent countries.

“The country is ready to transfer up to 100,000 of its soldiers to Donbas,” said the report by the pro-Kremlin news agency.

“Pyongyang will be able to transfer its tactical units to Donbas.”

In return, grain and energy would be supplied to Kim’s stricken economy.

The claim was seized on by Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of Russia’s National Defence journal on Rossiya 1 channel, who said: “There are reports that 100,000 North Korean volunteers are prepared to come and take part in the conflict.”

He was challenged on whether they could be volunteers from North Korea where total obedience is required.

But he said North Korean people were “resilient and undemanding” and “the most important thing is they are motivated”.

He told viewers: “We shouldn’t be shy in accepting the hand extended to us by Kim Jung-un….

“If North Korean volunteers with their artillery systems, wealth of experience with counter battery warfare and large calibre multiple launch rocket systems, made in North Korea, want to participate in the conflict, well let’s give the green light to their volunteer impulse.”

He said: “If North Korea expresses a desire to meet its international duty to fight against Ukrainian fascism, we should let them.”

That famous Ukrainian fascism of invading neighboring countries. There’s more at the source, including discussion of Russia’s Dad’s Army of men in their 50s and 60s being recruited.

This has potential written all over it. 100K NK troops deserting would be quite a shit show.

Especially when they start showing up on our southern border.

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

Kim may be a goofy little cheese stuffed turd, but he’s not retarded.
I have a feeling that he already has a list of his more ‘ politically reliable ‘ troops to deploy outside of his Juche utopia. Such as those with living parents and ones that don’t hate their dependas.

That makes me wonder…What is life like for a NorK dependa?
Does she use her husband’s rank to butt in line for their 100g daily ration of rat turd infested rice?
Does she blow her family’s savings to buy unsellable stocks of useless MLM junk that just clutter up their doorless mud hut so she can become a ‘ Boss Babe ‘ by annoying her friends into buying shitty essential oils rendered from abandonded corpses?

AW1Ed

With those numbers they could march across the minefields and still win.

Mick

Yup.

Expendable human mine detectors.

11B-Mailclerk

Russia was in a similar “overwhelming numbers” position at the start of this fiasco yes? DPRK troops will be even more dependant on central control, and less able to utilize Russian logistical support and fire support.

Opportunity for further humiliation. Could wind up breaking the DPRK.

My spell check changes DPRK to DORK. Hmmmm.

Commissar

No. They will be impactful but no where near enough to take Ukraine. Won’t even be able to fully control the areas currently contested. Just a mechanism to reduce the total Russian casualties and replace them with North Koreans the Russian people don’t give a fuck about. Buying Putin more time.

The calculus at this point is hold and consolidate the gains until the Ukrainians are sufficiently attritted and the international community has become sufficiently distracted and bored that Ukraine will have to accept Russian terms that they cede areas of Eastern Ukraine to the Russians.

I don’t think 100,000 will be enough. But it certainly is beneficial to Putin to replace dead Russians with dead North Koreans.

I hope this turns into a disaster for both Putin and Kim.

I am not sure who was triggered by that post enough to downvote.

It says something that my post essentially says that Russia is losing and even 100,000 North Korean troops are not enough to change that fact.

Strange that someone reading that post is emotionally attached to an opposing position.

Maybe you should ease your nose out of Putin’s ass and realize it is not roses your are smelling from Russian propaganda.

Just take at least a dozen of those corncobs out of your butt and chill!

Don’t give your writing skills so much credit. What got downvoted was YOU.

Ah, yes, I forgot that the legitimacy of an answer here is a popularity contest.

I don’t give two shits over up- or down-votes, and I agree with hopes that Russia loses…

But of all the strategic variables, economics remains the most influential (it has much greater influence on the other three than vice-versa).

100,000 Norks won’t be nearly enough (they’re far different from the Theban Immortals), but they could serve a purpose like Hannibal’s center at Cannae – useful purely for the space and threat but ultimately expendable. Russia’s lynchpin function in eastern energy would make this a very lucrative trade for Fatty Kim.

USMC Steve

Numbers alone don’t mean all that much. They tried it 1950-53, and got introduced to the water cooled Browning M1917. Mowed them down along with their Chinese allies, as fast as they could run towards us. The stuff we and our South Korean allies have available there kills even faster. And I doubt without food that those turds could run very far anyway.

Mick

POSers everywhere are now taking note of the vast array of awards on those snazzy Norkie uniforms in the photo above.

“Oh; so THAT’S how you’re supposed to wear ’em!”

STSC(SW/SS)

Should work well as a bullet proof vest in the front but useless if you’re shot in the head.

26Limabeans

Imagine the selection at the base exchange.

A Proud Infidel®™

Each one of those Norkie Generals has more gold bling than three platoons of Harlem Pimps!

KoB

I’m sure that they are all volunteers. Ivan might want to use the Norks to help defend that “Northern Resource Area”.

Anybody do the math on the logistics required to transport 100K Norks to the ‘Kraine?

26Limabeans

If they make it acros China the march through Mongolia will be
a piece of cake until they reach Kazakhstan where they will be
welcomed with “open arms”.

The Stranger

Not really necessary to do the long march, North Korea borders a part of Russia. Get them to Vladivostok and put them on trains.

5JC

The trains are full of Kim’s baggage so he can personally supervise the CF.

5JC

It isn’t that hard to walk West and then some pull some long pork from the fallen volunteers.

Skivvy Stacker

Ah….moo goo guy dead.

Sapper3307

Would be lots of defectors, running into Ukraine.

I would like to see a study of the combat effectiveness of armies correlated to the size of the hats worn by generals.

That’s some headgear they got there.

Inspired by Mother Russia.

It’s like some uniform designer decided to make them look ridiculous by the size and shape of their caps.

rgr769

Sorta like the Chinese did to us with the oversized cheap-ass berets they make for our army.

Hate_me

I remember when Shinseki took the black beanies away from the rangers.

I don’t know if we have much standing when it comes to arguments over who wears what hat.

Let’s go back to just wearing a field cap and being good at shit…

Of course, we have to figure out who gets to wear a skirt, first.

I’ve always found it ironic that communist ruled countries include democratic in their name. Kind of like our progressive communists do.

A Proud Infidel®™

You mean like how our commie moonbats refer to their dogma as “DEMOCRATIC Socialism”?

Because they cannot spell

I bet you that right now that medals of America’s phones are ringing off the hook and the online orders are being swamped

Fyrfighter

Of course all 100k volunteered. As soon as fatty Kimchee told them that if they didn’t, he’d kill their families, they couldn’t volunteer fast enough..

And he gets grain and energy sent to his country??? (don’t forget he’ll have 100k less mouths to feed once his cannon fodder gets shot up), so it’s a win win for the fat little bastid!

AW1Ed

Back by popular demand.

Strange, the commies hate fascists, yet they ran to adopt the goose step march.

They only hate them cause they’re competition… Like one street gang fighting another…

poetrooper

There’s an old saying, “They only hate each other because they’re so much alike.”

Commissar

The step originated in Prussia about 250 years ago.

Its association with fascism comes from the fact that it was already part of German military tradition when the Nazis rose to power and then the Italian fascists started doing it during Mussolini’s era.

The Russians adopted the goose step at the end of the 18th century, not long after the Prussians introduced it to European formations.

So they too were already goose stepping for more than 100 years before the communists rose to power.

After WWII many North Korean officers were trained Soviet academies. Exporting the Russian goose step to North Korea.

Sometime after Kim Il Sung died and his son Kim Jong Il took power the North Korean army added that little bounce to their goose step.

Kim Jong Un appears to be abandoning the bounce and it is being seen less, or at least it is less “bouncy”.

Only Army Mom

Get grain for himself, and not have to feed 100K troops?

The NoK soldiers will see that even the poorest peasants in a war-torn Western nation are better fed then they are back in their peaceful utopia. Imagine what else they’d see…

Sure, “it’s American propaganda” but the risk of natural human curiosity being awakened is too much for Dear Leader.

If it does happen, the NoKs will be issued more shovels than guns, be human mine sweepers and bullet bait. There will be no defectors, only heroes who each killed 100+, killed by evil capitalists-proof America wants to kill them, have the greatest Army, etc., all as Dear Leader has said. Definitely no downside for Dear Leader.

Commissar

“We shouldn’t be shy in accepting the hand extended to us by Kim Jong-un.” Propaganda from Russian state TV.

Kim is not that stupid. Russians are buying his help. And it shows how desperate Russia is becoming.

If this happens it will be interesting to see the effectiveness and defection rate of North Korean soldiers. It would give us a clearer sense of where the North Korean army readiness is.

I don’t think it is possible to integrate North Korean and Russian troops into a coordinated fighting force. The NK troops that will be put into the fight are likely going to be treated as expendable and used to reduce Russian casualties.

What a hellish existence. Born in North Korea, conscripted in the North Korean Army, thrown into a war in a country you likely never heard of, forced to fight on the wrong side of war, treated as expendable, and if you survive returned to North Korea – where you are treated with mistrust and suspicion because of your exposure to the west.

A Proud Infidel®™

What’s to say those surviving that deployment won’t be “reeducated” to reduce the risk of them talking about what they saw?

Cameron

I never liked Putin to begin with nor to I pay attention to let alone care about what Russian propagandists have to say. Considering some of the attitudes I have seen from people who think Russia is infallible (along with many Russians themselves who think they are better than everyone else), I enjoy watching the reality check that they are not exactly in top shape as they think (this article is proof of that). Seeing how some of their units have been operating in the Ukraine makes me wonder how the Russian Army even manages to function.

In case I did not make it clear enough earlier, I have zero sympathy for Russia and never much cared for it. They got themselves into this. Now, I do find Russian history interesting (found a good documentary on it once on YouTube that covered the beginning portions of their history such as the story of Ivan the Great). However, I do not find it interesting enough to go out of my way to visit (it is too cold for my liking anyway).

Roh-Dog

Imagine thinking this ‘war’ is about winning versus losing, or the Russians are somehow not going to parley this military action into a benefit for themselves (even further, btws. RF oil breakeven is ~$20/bbl vs Saudi’s ~$55 fyi).

If we (the ‘enlightened’ west) continue along this path, BRICS could bloc-tite with their own basket of commodity-backed currency and the resultant flood of dollars back to us could be devastating.
The international community, especially those morons in EU/NATO, need to a sit-down like adults and negotiate a peace. There is a possibility if the value-equation Russia is using resolves negative to a determined degree they’ll go full on Op and take the whole damn country.

“But -Dog, you don’t know what you’re talking about!”
You right. But there is untapped potential to destabilize ukr even further, causing the greatest humanitarian crisis since WW2. To that end, what country do you think would benefit the most? (hint: it’s Russia)

Turkey NATxit?

USMC Steve

Those are some pretty impressive decoration displays given that North Korea has been in a total of one war, and got their asses decisively kicked in it.
