Trump military/MOH news

| July 25, 2022

A group of four-stars sent an op-ed letter to the New York Times Friday excoriating Trump for ‘dereliction of duty’ on January 6. Brief checking shows that some of the same names have showed up in the past, such as on the letter in which 200+ senior officers endorsed Biden over Trump in the 2020 campaign. One can only assume that all were retired by that point, lest they ran afoul of the Hatch Act.

A group of seven retired four-star military officers, including admirals Steve Abbot, James Loy, John Nathman and William Owens and generals John Jumper, Peter Chiarelli and Johnnie Wilson, wrote that while the Jan. 6 committee has produced “startling findings,” the most alarming to them is that Trump “abdicated his duty to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution” while rioters attacked the US Capitol.

“The president’s dereliction of duty on Jan. 6 tested the integrity of this historic principle as never before, endangering American lives and our democracy,” they wrote. “We hope that the country will never face such a crisis again. But to safeguard our constitutional order, military leaders must be ready for similar situations in which the chain of command appears unclear or the legality of orders uncertain.”

Business Insider

Now, the really great quote of the day came from GEN Milley:

…they needed to “kill the narrative” that Pence was in charge, not Trump. Milley said he interpreted that as “politics, politics, politics” and noted that he “doesn’t do political narratives.”

Ibid

That may be the single funniest thing I have read all year. Milley doesn’t do political?  Like the Rock doesn’t do weighlifting. (yes, I cleaned up my first 200 or so comparisons. My wife might read this.) Almost as funny as an attempted overthrow of the mightiest government on earth with no real weapons.

And on The Wrap,  possibly the most honestly-named leftist group on the Web (why they shortened it from The Fish-Wrap is beyond me) their knickers are twisted that Trump suggested yesterday that he wanted to award himself a Medal of Honor but was advised it was “inappropriate.” Oh, the horror! The disrespect! How inappropriate!

“As president, I wanted to give myself the Congressional Medal of Honor, but they wouldn’t let me do it…they said that would be inappropriate,” Trump said on July 23 at the Turning Point USA summit, whose “mission is to identify, educate, train, and organize students to promote the principles of freedom, free markets, and limited government.”

The Wrap

Might have been nice if someone had done a little background checking and found that he has used this as a joke before. From July 2019:

President Donald Trump claimed to laughter on Wednesday that he sought to give himself a Medal of Honor, but decided not to after being counseled against the move by aides.

The offhand remark from the president came during his address to the 75th annual national convention of American Veterans, a volunteer-led veterans service organization also known as AMVETS.

Politico

Personally, I would call his joke dumb and slightly tasteless, but hardly ‘offensive’.

Now, no article where they Trumpet his faults could go by without mentioning his 4 student deferments and one medical deferment for bone spurs, which they dutifully do. No mention for some reason of Biden’s 4 student deferments followed by one medical deferment for a previously undiagnosed asthma.

Phuque these 4-stars!!! They sit quietly by while the country in invaded by more than 2 million foreign nations, and thousands of American’s die from Fentanyl being waltzed across of Southern Border. How about the lack of readiness in our military because of failures in recruitment? Billions of dollars’ worth of weapons send to a corrupt government. The absolute Mongolian Cluster Fuck that was the pullout from Afghanistan? Where’s the letter to Biden for that shit? Yeah, phuque these political hacks!

Ike, Patton, Nimitz, Halsey and many more are rolling in their graves.

Next prez should relieve every O-7 and up.

Exceptions might be made for any who while -on duty- called out the bullshit.

And I am thinking O-6 may need serious weeding.

Can we draft a certain LTC back to clean house? Heh. Give him timbers, hammer, and nails.

WTF, I love it as this shit can’t get any better, and by now I sound like a broken record.

Trump was not their target. We, The People are. He was just in the way.

“…ambitious abroad and despotic at home.” You called it, Bobby Lee. And here we are.

Seems like I remember reading somewhere that The Speaker of the House was responsible for Capitol Security. Not condoning anything that some nutjobs did on 6 Jan, but this whole thing is nothing but a farce. Nikita called it too when he said “We’ll take you over and never fire a shot.”

“…against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

The left fears what they cannot control. Hence the antipathy towards Trump and the desire to disarm the citizenry the politicians were supposedly sworn to serve.

I have as much faith in these Generals as I do in the intel weenies that proclaimed Hunter Biden’s computer to be a Russian plot. Birds of a feather and all that.

If that clown keeps running his yap, ask him about the palm trees at Nellis AFB. That should shut him right the hell up.

Any GO that refers to our country as a democracy should be demoted to a fucking recruit.

Who cares if any of them ran afoul of the Hatch Act? The politicized DOJ would never charge them, since they are party members or sympathizers. Their motto is “rules for thee, but not for me.”
