New Prague hand gestures at boys hockey state tournament addressed

This is getting out of hand.

New Prague [Minnesota] Area Schools is under fire for racist behavior again after its fan section flashed a known hate symbol on the big screen of the boys hockey state hockey tournament Wednesday night.

The upper elementary students were unaware their hand gestures made at the state tournament Wednesday signaled white supremacy, the Minnesota State High School League and New Prague school district say.

The hand gesture was made several times by multiple students on the big screen behind New Prague Trojans head coach Brad Drazan while he was being announced. Watch the moment on the video below.

he league says MSHSL officials immediately contacted New Prague administrators onsite, who quickly identified the students who made the gesture. MSHSL said the students were unaware of the meaning.

“This hand gesture has multiple meanings including signifying white supremacy,” MSHSL wrote.

This comes only weeks after two Twin Cities area school districts canceled all basketball games with New Prague due to alleged fan racism. But New Prague Superintendent Tim Dittberner says they have no reason to believe the students knew it could signify white supremacy.

“While we know this is very upsetting to many, please be assured we feel confident that the students were not intending to send a message of white supremacy when they made the gesture,” Dittberner wrote.

Florida man asks police to test meth for authenticity

I have good news and bad news, sir.

A Florida man was arrested after he called police and asked them to test his methamphetamine’s authenticity, officials said.

Thomas Eugene Colucci, of Spring Hill, called the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday asking for officers to test meth he had recently purchased, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook.

Colucci told officers that he was an “experienced drug user” and believed he had been sold bath salts instead of meth, authorities said. They said he told police he “knew what it should feel like” and that the substance wasn’t producing the desired effect.

Colucci said he wanted the police to test the meth so others wouldn’t buy fake meth from the person who sold it to him, authorities said. Officers tested the substance and found that it was, in fact, meth, police said.

Officers arrested Colucci and took him to a hospital for a medical evaluation before they took him to the Hernando County Detention Center.

Colucci was held on $7,000 bond on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. It wasn’t immediately clear whether he had retained a lawyer, and he couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

The sheriff’s office said that if a person has “doubts about the authenticity of any illegal narcotics you have on-hand or have obtained from another person, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to provide this service, FREE of charge.”

Police chief had sex with dispatcher while on duty, watched porn on police computers, lawsuit says

Oh, was that not allowed?

The South Plainfield police chief has been accused of having sex with a dispatcher on the job and allegedly viewed porn with the former police chief on an office computer, according to allegations contained in a lawsuit.

A police captain who says he told the mayor about it and anonymously forwarded documents to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office is suing, claiming he was retaliated against for being a whistleblower.

Chief James Parker allegedly began having sex with two employees in the department in 2005 while he was an internal affairs lieutenant working under a former police chief, according to the suit filed in Superior Court of Middlesex County by Capt. Charles Siedenburg.

“Parker would pressure (one of the employees) to leave the dispatch center while she was working and go to his office located in the rear of the Detective Bureau of the SPPD to have sexual relations with him, which would unlawfully leave only one dispatcher in the communications center during her absence,” the complaint, filed Dec. 31, 2021, states.

Siedenburg said he told the now-former mayor in 2008 about Parker’s alleged “sexual misconduct” while on duty, but said nothing was done.

Parker did not respond Monday morning to a request for comment left on his office voicemail. Parker’s attorney, who also represents the police department and the borough, on Monday called the allegations baseless and said the law firm is “vigorously defending them.”

An attorney for Siedenburg did not immediately respond on Monday to requests for comment.

Dentist found guilty of damaging patients’ teeth to boost profits

A Wisconsin dentist was found guilty of healthcare fraud and other charges after he intentionally damaged his patients’ teeth to boost profits, raking in millions from his scheme.

Scott Charmoli, 61, was convicted of five counts of healthcare fraud and two counts of making false claims about his clients’ treatment last Thursday, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

With his sentencing scheduled for June, Charmoli faces up to 10 years for each healthcare fraud charge and a maximum of five years for each of the two other charges.

Prosecutors say that Charmoli had routinely drilled or broken his clients’ teeth on purpose, charging them for additional treatment services to fix the damage he had just done. As a result, Charmoli’s profits ballooned, with the dentist going from making $1.4m and installing 434 crowns in 2014 to $2.5m in 2015, installing over 1,000 crowns, reported the Washington Post.

According to prosecutors, in 2015, Charmoli began pressuring his clients into getting unnecessary crowns, a dental procedure where a tooth-shaped cap is placed on a damaged tooth. Charmoli would drill or break his client’s teeth and send X-rays of the intentional damage to insurance as “before” photos to justify the crown procedures.

One client, Todd Tedeschi, testified that Charmoli pressured him into getting two crowns in one appointment, despite Tedeschi believing that his teeth were fine.

“It seemed excessive, but I didn’t know any better,” said Tedeschi. “He was the professional. I just trusted him.”

Some of the patients that Charmoli badgered into unnecessary procedures were also vulnerable, said prosecutors.

“Some of these patients were extremely vulnerable individuals in abusive relationships, recently widowed, survivors of cancer and living paycheck to paycheck scrounging to afford the co-pays required for the unnecessary procedures he was billing,” said prosecutor Julie Stewart in 2020.

Between 2016 to 2019, Charmoli billed more than $4.2m for crowns, performing more crowns than 95% of dentists in Wisconsin during that time. According to testimony from an insurance company executive, while an average Wisconsin dentist performs fewer than six crowns for every 100 patients, Charmoli’s rate exceeded more than 32 crowns per 100 clients.

By the end of 2020, Charmoli had over $6.8m worth of assets, with vacation homes in Wisconsin and Arizona.

Nearly 100 of Charmoli’s former patients have sued him for medical malpractice, with those cases set to begin once Charmoli’s federal criminal proceedings are over. While Charmoli’s lawyers did not provide comment to the Post following Charmoli’s conviction, his lawyers commented during Charmoli’s December 2020 arraignment, where the dentist pleaded not guilty, saying Charmoli was only guilty of “hard work”.

“He certainly denies that his hard-earned wealth of many, many years of dental practice at the 40 to 60 hour per week range are the product of anything other than his own diligence, hard work and good business acumen,” said defense attorney Nila Robinson at the time.

Charmoli’s schemes were eventually unearthed when he sold his dental practice in 2019. While reviewing his files, the new owners noted the high rate of crown procedures Charmoli had done and reported him to the authorities.

“The health and safety of patients is my highest concern as a doctor. As medical professionals, we take an oath to ‘do no harm’ to our patients, which is why I felt the ethical obligation to report activity that I believed to be suspicious,” wrote the Jackson Family Dentistry owner Pako Major on the practice’s website.

Wisconsin state authorities suspended Charmoli’s dental license in February 2021, pending disciplinary action. Charmoli was first licensed in 1986.

Man released from jail, accused of robbing banks while wearing electronic monitor, police say

A Charlotte man accused of robbing a bank was caught, got out on bond and robbed a bank in 16 hours while wearing an electronic monitor.

Khalil Prater, 24, has a long rap sheet but gets out of jail to get arrested again.

Prater was arrested and charged with breaking into The Home Depot at Rivergate in December.

He was released and ordered to wear an electronic-monitoring device, but investigators said that didn’t slow him down.

In February, Prater allegedly robbed the Wells Fargo branch across the street from Rivergate.

He was still wearing an electronic monitor, which led police to him.

He got out of jail on bond again and allegedly robbed the Bank of America on Beatties Ford Road while wearing the electronic monitor, and once again, police had no trouble finding him.

In the latest crime, records from the Mecklenburg County Jail indicate Prater bonded out around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday.

At about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, Prater allegedly walked into the U.S. Bank branch on South Tryon Street in uptown Charlotte and allegedly tried to rob it.

He was still wearing an electronic monitor and was caught again.

Prater was just charged with attempted common law robbery in connection with the crime at U.S. Bank.

His bond was set at $25,000, which is the highest bond he’s had yet.

In the other cases, he handed the teller a note and did not display a weapon, so the bonds were low.

The FBI is consulting with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office about filing federal charges.

“It’s pretty outrageous,” resident Melina Lopez said. “I mean, the guy has a monitor, and he still robs a bank.”

“I’m dumbfounded,” resident Jeremy Hutchins told Channel 9. “I’m dumbfounded that this individual is released and released and released, despite injury in the community he’s causing.”

Dallas Police Raid Home Allegedly Stealing Gas

This will become more common. Thanks, Biden!

Dallas police said they recently raided a home in Oak Cliff and found hundreds of gallons of gas in the backyard, WFAA reported.

“We found a house that was being used as a gas station,” Sergeant Richard Santiesteban told WFAA.

Police seized a truck at the home in the Dallas neighborhood that had a large plastic tank of stolen gas, WFAA reported.

“The garage door would open, the hose would come out, and they would start filling up,” an anonymous neighbor told WFAA.

The suspects placed a skimmer device that took debit and credit card information on gas pumps, police said, according to WFAA. They made fake cards from the information the device sent to their mobile phones and bought more gas with them.

Police told WFAA gas companies are calling them reporting losing millions in fuel. They also advised customers to pay inside at gas stations to keep debit and credit card information secure.

As of Friday afternoon, a gallon of regular-grade gas cost a national average of $4.274, according to AAA data. The highest recorded national average of regular-grade gas reached $4.331 per gallon on March 11, according to the same data.

Dumbass police chief. *sigh*

Glad that got to the root of the dental problem and are gonna drill him good. Some time in prison would put a nice crown on his sentence.

I guess Kahil will prater on about being held back by “The Man”.

I inspect gas pump card readers very carefully…and have for years.

One time when I was a cop, we had a call from a woman complaining that someone stole her meth pipe.

Much hilarity ensued.

What a dope!

Seems like Mister Prater’s NASA career is about to be cut short due to his incarceration status. Damn shame, that.

And getting a little sumthingsumthing while on duty is a crime now? Good thing the statute of limitations is up for showing my redheaded friend the back of the Battalion Commander’s brand new Stryker.

HQ66 was never the same.

YOU CAN’T FIX STUPID, but duct tape often does a wonderful job of muffling it!

Animal

I’ve suffered many a bruise from looking at that hand sign. It sure felt hateful paying up.

I would sure love to see an objective survey to determine how many people think the OK gesture is racist. I suspect that number is exactly the same as the vanishingly small percentage of folks who get butthurt about seemingly anything and everything.

Looks like Charlotte’s becoming a Carolina version of San Francisco…

i hope the dentist told the whole tooth about the fraud when he went before the Judge. When I do the ok finger deal, it’s up at face level. I watched the kids at the hocky game and the ok sign was low and upside down so maybe it means something else from the regular ok hand sign

From WFB – Hundreds of Yale Law Students Disrupt Bipartisan Free Speech Event:

“It feels wild to me that we’re at this point in history and some folks are still not immediately signing a letter like this,” one student wrote to her class GroupMe. “I’m sure you realize that not signing the letter is not a neutral stance.”

This is the same type of retard would call Republicans or Libertarians on twitter ‘fascists’ and ‘authoritarians’, ffs.

Don’t worry folks, it’s not like Yale Law School has been one of the most prestigious or anything. Can’t wait for these clowns to ‘ring knock’ their way into a clerkship at SCOTUS and maybe later a seat.
