Russian Major General Killed

| March 4, 2022

Major General Andrei Sukhovetsky

Andrei Sukhovetsky was the commanding general of the Russian 7th Airborne Division and a deputy commander of the 41st Combined Arms Army. So far, he is the most senior Russian figure to have died in the conflict.

Sukhovetsky graduated from the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School in 1995. He began his career as a platoon commander, eventually climbing up to the chief of staff of the Guards airborne assault unit.

Devtun mentioned this event on another post.

Ukraine military kills a top Russian general

By Michael Ruiz

Ukrainian defense forces killed Russian Maj. Gen. Andrei Sukhovetsky in combat earlier this week, according to Ukrainian officials and Russian media.

The circumstances of the 47-year-old’s death were not immediately clear, but the Kremlin-backed Pravda said he was killed “during a special operation in Ukraine.”

According to Russia’s state-owned TASS news agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Sukhovetsky deputy commander of the 41st Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District last year. He was also the head of the 7th Airborne Division, had served in Syria and received two commendations for bravery from the Kremlin.

“The fact is, we killed him,” Volodymyr Omelyan, Ukraine’s former minister of infrastructure who has joined the militia in Kyiv, told Fox News Digital Thursday.

NY Post

This won’t affect Russian attacks or intentions, but is a moral victory for Ukraine fighters and could fortify their resolve. Thanks, Dev.

“The fact is, we killed him,” Volodymyr Omelyan,

Straight and to the point. I like it.

Not enough diversity in the comment for our SECDEF.

Now give his hat to Lt Col Tanner.
“it aught of fit on a Col”

SKYJUMPER

Supposedly he was killed by a Ukrainian sniper.

Guess Hillary can sort of identify with that. /sarc

Hmmmm….at this point I’m very skeptical about any news that comes out of the war zone.

You know what they say about the first casualty of war, right? 😉

Honor and Courage

I was thinking who might be in place for the Bagdad Bob award. The Media has been lacking in truth for some time now! Like that convoy photo! Even a dumb ass Private knows to move into the tree line. According to Miley they already have enough weapons and ammunition to attack Moscow.

That picture makes him look like he just sucked a lemon out of a cat’s butthole.

ChipNASA

Ok fucker, you just bought yourself an entry in the The As(s)teroid of Insults®™…🖕😄🙌 something like… …”his actions leave us all with a sour taste in our mouths akin to sucking a rotten lemon out of a cat’s butthole…… how’s that???

… graduated from the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School in 1995 …

Is there such a thing as a Ryazan LOWER Airborne Command?

Poetrooper

Yep, for the enlisted… 😜

Hack Stone

Looks like the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School Class of 1995 25th Reunion will be down one RSVP.

Mason

You obsolete Red Hat software is giving you bad math, Hack. 25th reunion would have been two years ago. 😜

Hack Stone

Sure, by the calendar that you use. But according to the free calendar you get with the purchase of outdated and overpriced Red Hat Software from a proud but humble woman owned business that sells software to the federal government formerly located in Bethesda Maryland, 2020 is still three years away. So you actually have some extra time to place your order for Y3K software.

American thinker has a couple 2 or 3 articles on the Ukraine/Russia debacle. One article goes so far as to point out some of the pictures being shown date back as far as 2005.

I wish this tablet allowed me to cut and paste, although I’m sure it does. I haven’t figured it out yet so you will have to look it up instead of clicking a link.

Unfortunately, truth is generally the first casualty of war.

Poetrooper

Here’s the link, Odie:

Be skeptical about media coverage of Ukraine – American Thinker

Ukraine could give Hamas and the Palestinians a run for their money when it comes to clumsy attempts at propaganda.

SFC D

Ukrainian propaganda is far more entertaining. Which is nice.

Thanks poe. I’m going to attempt to work on my cut copy paste skills. Don’t know what links may show up, so everybody has been warned.

I guess some will be happy it wasn’t a gateway pundit link.

Saw this last night and the FIRST (ht2 Roh-Dog) thing that popped in my head was, “DaHell is a Major General doing this close to the “Front”? I know that Ivan does things a little different from us, but…still? The second thought was “frag”? Either way, He’s dead, Jim. Good!

Wonder if farmgirl has taken on some TDY Contract Work? Jes’ sayin’

Keep in mind that the Russians still don’t do the leadership thing like we do. Officers have to do the work of many of their underlings, because no one wants to take responsibility at so many levels of command in their army. Screw up and bad things might happen to ya in Vlad’s army.

rgr769

Yes, this tendency goes back to the old USSR. Pilots of dual control aircraft had both pilot and copilot with their hands on the yokes during landing so that in case of a mishap they could dispute which was responsible.

Friendly Fire also kills…Sadly, look what happened in WWII:
