‘I defended myself using my firearm’: Man describes fatal shooting in Shrewsbury Township

Dylan Segelbaum, York Daily Record
A man reported in court documents that he acted in self-defense when he pulled the trigger during an altercation earlier this week near Interstate 83 in Shrewsbury Township.

In a petition for an emergency protection-from-abuse order, the man wrote that James Lynch Sr., 57, of Shrewsbury Township, attacked him at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. He said he was in his vehicle with his son.

Next, the man reported, Lynch “went for a firearm on his person.”

“I defended myself using my firearm killing Jim Lynch,” the man said. “I was held and released by the State Police with no charges.”

The York Daily Record/Sunday News is not identifying the man, 51, of Codorus Township, because he has not been charged with a crime. He could not immediately be reached for comment.

The man asked for the protective order after reporting that one of Lynch’s family members repeatedly made threats such as stating, “I know where you live and I will shoot you in the head.” No charges have been filed.

District Judge Keith Albright on Wednesday denied the request, stating that he had found “it is not necessary to issue a protective order and the petition for emergency relief is denied.”

No Score.

Ceres man shot after allegedly trying to break into home
An attorney previously told ABC10 a person may use reasonable force to defend themselves on their own private property when they believe an intruder may harm them.

CERES, Calif. — Police believe a man found shot in the backyard of a Ceres home Thursday was trying to break into the home.

According to a press release from the Ceres Police Department, officers received a call Thursday just after 4 a.m. for a report of a man shot outside of a home along the 2300 block of Moffett Road. Upon arrival, police found 23-year-old Anthony Robledo in the backyard of the home, suffering from a gunshot wound.

During their investigation, police believe Robledo was attempting to break into the home through a back window. When a resident of the home saw Robledo with a gun trying to enter, the resident shot at Robledo, hitting him multiple times.

Man shot, killed by security guard in Montgomery County, sheriff’s office says
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says the guard called 911 saying he used deadly force out of self defense.

NEW CANEY, Texas — A man was found dead with a gunshot wound early Saturday morning after an alleged argument with a security guard.

It happened in the 26000 block of FM 1485 in New Caney shortly before 1 a.m.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that a security guard called 911 to report the shooting.

Allegedly, the guard told deputies that he was stopping a theft and got into an argument with another man. According to the guard, the argument got heated and he used deadly force to defend himself.

It’s not clear if the man found dead was involved in the alleged robbery.

The sheriff’s office said their detectives have responded to the scene. No arrests have been made and the case will be presented to a grand jury.

It looks like we can no longer use HTML with our posts.

what does strike, ordered list, unordered list, block quote and link do which I’m afraid to push.

gitarcarver@hotmail.com

“Stike” puts a line through the text.

Unordered list is basically “bullet points.”

“Blockquote” allows you to copy text from another post, and the “blockquote” tags will do something like indent it, surround it with a box and or make it appear in italics. In short, it visually shows you quoting someone else is different than your comment on that quote.

“Link” allows you to embed links with texts.

Highlight the text you want, click “link” and a new window will pop up where you can put the actual text of the link.

For example, “This Ain’t Hell” is a great resource for exposing stolen valor.

It allows the reader to click on the link instead of having a separate link in your comment.

Thanks for the info gitarcarver, right now I’ll stick with the kiss method until I google all that stuff and see what they look like and do some practicing before I use them on this site. I’ve mentioned a number of times that I;m a loser when it comes to this PC stuff and Thanks again for your info.

Understood and you’re welcome.

The new comment plugin is really more “wysiwyg” than the old one of HTML.

Just highlight the text, press the “effect” you want, and boom! Your posts look better than ever.

It’s not that hard and when you think about it, what’s the worst thing that can happen if you screw something up? 🙂

Good luck to you!

Montgomery County is getting the overflow from the septic tank that is Harris County (think Houston, TX) and the liberal criminal-loving DA.
They don’t “do” catch-and-release of criminals there.

Perhaps District Judge Keith Albright is hoping that the unidentified hero will take out more trash for him – thus lightening his case-load?

That hand-cannon is a danger to one’s wrist. Talk about “kick like a mule”…
